hi, everyone. it is really hard for me to write this because i really appreciate and adore all of you, and that’s honestly what’s made me want to keep doing this, but...i can’t? i’ve been working on a lot of things behind the scenes here to try and convince myself to stay but i really shouldn’t. essentially, some ooc things have been taking a toll on logging on here lately, and i think i really need a break from rping in general because it’s making me unhappy. i know it fucking sucks to have your rp home close down, i’ve been there, but i really have to do this for me and get away from the screen for a while. i hope you can understand.

this three-ish months have been so fucking awesome for me ? odette has been one of my favorite characters to play and i’ve gotten to explore themes that i’ve never gotten the chance to before. i’m such a big fan of the dark academia genre so creating this, i was really just creating my dream rp and i’m so happy that i got to be in it with all of you. every single one of you plotted with me and encouraged all my crazy and elaborate plot ideas and i am so...happy for that and a better writer and plotter bc of it. a lot of you have thanked me for this group, but it’s really YOU who made it a home and an inspiring place with all of your thoughtful ideas. always after running a group for a while, i start to feel weird about bringing in new members because it can be hard to adjust, but i’ve always felt great about promoting this group in particular because you’re all such a welcoming, wonderful group of people and literally anyone is lucky to get to write with you. you made me excited to wake up, to check the dash, and read all of your threads. 

this goes for people in the group now and anyone who’s been in the group prior. i am so thankful and lucky to have anyone who dedicated their time and awesome ideas to mine and we really created some cool shit together. this is the reason i love rp and why i keep coming back to it – and why i’ll probably come back someday when i feel ready. i just don’t see myself being able to write anything else right now, so it’ll probably be a hot minute.

i do feel bad about leaving you hanging on the plot, i know some of you would hate me forever if i didn’t give u the lowdown, so i’ll give u the tl;dr of things i had planned for the future.

essentially, the murder was carried out by another society, a group of students called the infermi society, existing to rebel against imperium and take it down? anti-establishment. lydia had involvement and so did melissa.

however, that was being controlled by warren, which i wasn’t going to reveal for a while longer and prob after another murder 

warren’s family history had ties to the original murders, where lies his motive

if the rp went on longer than that reveal, i was gonna have to improvise eventually but i’m sure u all would have helped me lol

honestly the lydia thing was never in my original plan but things were going so well here i realized i had to figure out a way to extend the plot and add more plot drops in and lowkey i regretted it bc she was boring imo, i’m so sorry

obviously i was going to build that up and drop it a little more subtly...or you can pretend i was going to do that? anyways. this really hurts me to do and to leave all of you, i feel really sad about it, but i know i’m doing the right thing for myself in the long run. THAT BEING SAID, i’m not going to stop you if you want to keep rping. these are your characters and as far as i’m concerned, this plot belongs to you too. do whatever you want with it and i really hope you will stay in touch with one another and continue your plotlines if you have the muse. you have my permission, although you don’t need it. i personally won’t be posting, but do whatever u want. i love u.

im kinda confused by what you meant by "season" or whatever? is the plot changing?

nope, not at all ! we’re just in the middle of our “summer semester” and at the end of august we’ll transition into a “fall semester.” literal seasons ! the plot won’t change but there will be some clarity on some things at the end of the semester (i.e. lydia). also it’s been a while since something really BAD has happened so...new questions may come into play and the characters will have an academic break. details to come, but try not to stress about it rn. i’m just trying to emphasize that i promise i’m making an effort to keep things fresh and fun AND i’m trying to build some suspense here.

it’s vacation season ! so, yeah, this is the biggest the hiatus list has been and i have a busy next weekend – we’re approaching the finale of what i might call our “first season” or our “first semester.” don’t worry, i have things planned for an entirely new arc, but i don’t want to drop a ton of shit and have a lot of people miss out on what i have planned (and have myself miss out on it too).

so, later tonight i’m going to drop like a mini optional thread prompt thing for next week, and then i’ll drop another small project. i’ll probably hold our next event until the week/weekend of the 5th or so. 

in the meantime, let me know if there are things you want to do and if threads are getting stale, feel free to post new starters/starter calls. it’s a great time to plot fresh interpersonal drama.

okie doke, i’m gonna go take a shower and get my life together, today’s been super busy, but i’ll be back in an hour or so. i’ll probably spend some time stirring shit up on the gossip blog, so feel free to send things there tonight ! i’ve also got another project in the works that i want to finish creating tonight, but i want to drop it when a lot of people are around on the dash, so. idk, lots of things incoming bc i can’t sit still.

totally ! i understand that real life gets in the way sometimes, so whether it was activity or personal reasons, i’m totally happy to accept previous members back – i’ve done it a few times already, actually. honestly, i think our members would be super excited to see the return of people who previously left, so you’d be welcomed back with open arms.

ah, this is so sweet, thank you ! i also wish you found us earlier & could join us. if it’s the member limit that’s holding you back, maybe just keep an eye on us because while spots fill up fast, they do re-open periodically and we’d love to have you. if it’s the length of time, definitely don’t let that intimidate you, since i find that new members have a pretty easy time sliding in ? like, the plot is important, but it’s really carried by the genre itself, so you don’t have to know every little nuance to fit right in.

would it be okay to submit an app where our muse *was* apart of the imperium society but left it?

yes ! we have/had muses like that and if it happens too often i’ll put a cap on it, but it’s definitely fine for right now. however, that would be for secondary muses.

it’s so weird to not have to promo but i also love it so much bc 1) less work for me and 2) we have a super active dash and i really...stan. anyways, i definitely have ideas for things in the works once i get the time to actually execute them, but in the meantime, we’ll do honesty! day! tomorrow, so get ready to send everyone all things juicy and spicy.
