thanks for checking the blog portion of our site! go to our website for full details: www.thecocoacakery.com my name is christina mckenzie, ie. the founder of the cocoa cakery. we are thrilled that you have found us, but you'll probably be more thrilled when you sink your teeth into one of our creations. how did it all begin? well i started baking with my mom when i was little, but let's not get some fanciful idea that we were amazing chefs or bakers... just mom and daughter making cookies etc for family functions.. i always enjoyed it and then my daughters first birthday was around the corner... as a good visual arts grad i decided i would tackle the world of cake decorating in a few short months and put to use the baking that mom and i used to do. and so. the cocoa cakery was born. slowly at first, and then the desire to decorate consumed me and it has been a wonderful journey so far! now with a folder full of family recipes (like "the best ever carrot cake", and "cocoa bundt cake" from austria as well as "caramel french vanilla") and all of our home-made rich butter cream icing and the creamiest cream cheese icing, we are well on our way to putting our stamp on the world of baking and all things sweet. there are always lots of cakes coming out my oven and even more decorating happening. with my little princess "helping" mommy do dishes at the sink, we're happy in the kitchen together. local to the GTA - Ontario www.thecocoacakery.com contact me for a quote 647 929 8053, leave me a msg here or email me [email protected]

Chewy Delicious Protein Bars
Chocolate dipped Peanut & Almond Butter
1container plain greek yogurt 3/4 cup almond butter 1/2 cup peanuts 7 scoops whey protein pwd (I used vanilla) 2tsp cinnamon Mix all together in a food processor until well blended. Pour into a large mixing bowl Add rice crispys until it is thick enough to mold into logs. Approx 4-6 cups. (I didn't measure) Form into approx 10 large bricks on parchment and place in the freezer for about 30mins. Melt dark chocolate in a shallow bowl. Once the bars are cold and solid cut in half and dip the top in the chocolate. Let them set and package in containers and return to the freezer until ready to eat! Enjoy!
(Approx 12-15g protein per bar based on twenty bars per recipe)
