These weird Hanselmann shorts are some of his most fun stuff. This is always a fun read. Some of my favorite megg and mogg stuff.

This new Deforge is a masterpiece. Aliens, Scream masks, depression!

A wild looking super hero comic unlike anything I’ve ever seen like a cartoon. Read this after reading a long interview with him on the comics journal.

read this before I read Cape Cod for the first time because I would love to do something similar with that book.

Cool girl art thieves. This thing read like a movie. Ending hit hard. Made me want to go to Paris.

Grabbed this from the library because they wouldn’t let me take out Sunday, his newer work. I loved this it felt so smart it was over my head at some points but it was also funny and looked cool.

Deforge is really one of the best. His comics are funny but pack a lot of substance. A short story collection like this is really just a way to flex his muscles of how good it is.

Hi. You have an awesome collection of comics. Some really rare ones too! Where do you get them from?
thanks. they come from a few different places. I go to Desert Island in Brooklyn a lot. Went to a few comic shops in Minneapolis over the summer. Will check out any used bookstore or comic bookstore and ebay.

This thing ending felt a lot like college ending. I was having so much fun I wanted to see how Bitty and Jack’s relationship goes. Watch this Samwell team grow up. Keep up with the Falcons. This comic ad so much life written into it that you can tell these characters lived on to have rich fulfilling lives. It’s a wonderful comic.

I’ve been reading as much Deforge as possible trying to figure out what I like so much about his work. I grabbed this from Desert Island. It’s a beautiful book that reads more like a picture book than a comic. It’s vague and interesting and strange.

Since reading Big Kids I’ve been breaking out all my Deforge. He rules one of the best. I dream of putting together a short story collection like this. It’s a good looking book as a psychical object. Most importantly here though is how good of a writer Deforge is. I haven’t quite figured out what I like so much about it but I know I like it. Would buy this book just for the Christmas story in here (got it from the library).

One of the scariest comics I’ve ever read. Made me feel weird in a way I don’t even know if I liked. That how you know the horror is good. You’re terrified but still turning the pages.

I guess my attention is grabbed by these late 50s paperbacks because I’m pretty sure I had read most of these already. Still fun

Got my first package of stuff from Kevin Huizenga and read this right away. It rules. Didn’t really know what to expect but it mostly seemed like a collection of comics he’s done for other people this past year. A meta comic about making a meta comic. Also an essay about Wimpy for a Popeye book. A fun little dinosaur adventure comic too. DOUBLE cover! And it does that cool flippy thing. Going to try and pick up the other two issues when I’m in Brooklyn next weekend because I loved this one.

I’ve heard about Body World and how great it was since I started learning about comics. I’ve been on a real Dash Shaw kick so I grabbed this weird thing from the library. I guess I was hesitant to read this because everyone says how good it is online but you can’t find it online anymore. This was weird to read but I didn’t mind too much because I plowed right through it. For sure going to be an influence on my comics.
