Runaway, Suicide, Murder
Chapter one
London
2004
"What is life if it isn't for a reason?" Without a start? "Where would I be without my sister?"
I giggled to myself once more, this dreadful story. I assumed you wouldn't pay attention and instead scribble down some notes and give me the same old critique you gave me 20 years ago. "Where are you going, our meeting isn't-" I stood up and walked out. I slammed the door in her face and walked away. I open the door 10 minutes later and say, "Sorry," before returning to my seat. She presented me with a piece of paper.
'Doctor, I see no use in me reading what I stated 20 years ago,' I threw the piece of paper to the ground. 'Then tell me the story again,' she said with a smile.
It was 20 years ago.
BANG!, then nothing BANG!, then BANG!, then BANG!, then BANG!, then Ba- then nothing for a while
I was expecting to hear the noise a third time, but all I heard was mom's calm voice saying, "Yes," and then another voice. Red and blue lights flashed as I softly rushed out of bed. As I approached the hallway, I heard a man's voice exclaim, "She is DEAD," and I moved closer to see who had said it- CREEK! I dashed back to my room and tightly shut my eyes; when I opened them again, it was light.
I walked down the steps expecting something unusual, but there was nothing. I was sitting in my usual chair, eating my usual breakfast. "Where's Remi?" was the one thing that wasn't normal. She wasn't in her usual seat, and she didn't even wake me up. "Amber, your sister is not coming any more," Mum remarked gently as she came around and sat behind me, her hand on my back. Her calm voice cracked as she said, "Because she is dead." I didn't understand, but I knew not to ask any more questions. "All right," I said as I returned to my breakfast.
2 weeks later
I was in a church where everyone was dressed in black and crying. Dad took my hand and led me up a few stairs, where I saw a long wooden box. "Remi is sleeping amber, do you understand?" my father remarked as I looked over and saw Remi inside.
"Goodbye, Remi," I said as I turned to face him and nodded.
Present time
"Are we done?" I spoke to the therapist, who nodded her head. When she replied, "Oh, and one more thing," I turned back to face her and asked, "How long has it been since you last saw your parents?"
"Well," I begin, "I received a scholarship to a London university about ten years ago," I pause, "about ten years ago," I conclude. "Interesting," she responds.

Runaway, Murder, Suicide
You know we live in a world where we can be anything.
Even this house doesn't feel right without her here. It's like arriving at this house for the first time but I can't help it. The police say she's dead but haven't found her body, people say we should forget, but it's hard to forget. Mum doesn't let me in her room or has ever let me in before. I can't see any picture of her but she's gone. Maybe it's time to forget, as everyone else has. Signed, Amber McKenzie.
Afterwards, I closed my diary and put it under the bed. I walked out of my bedroom and out of my house, which is a small town in Seattle. When I approached my sister's board covered door I could see R-E-M-I, Remi my sister, even though the boards were Paige-colored. "AMBER!" "COMING". As I stepped into the kitchen, mum handed me a basket filled with cupcakes, cookies, and other delightfully fragrant treats. "Mum, do you mind if I sample some?" I asked curiously. “ No there are for the new neighbours “. Then she handed me the basket. “ Go and deliver the basket to them”.
I protested and she pushed me out of the door like a stray kitten, "if you don't you won't be allowed to go to the arcade or the mall." "FINE," I said while walking out to our street. Two girls, who were talking to each other as I walked, argued over something, until one of them exclaimed, **What are you looking at! " Then she stormed off. "She doesn't like change," her sister said.
