Also, he does this after he basically says "I'm a diamond. That's the last thing I want to be." And he says this as White Diamond has turned pink. Steven is essentially trying to destroy his diamond identity for all the trauma it has caused him. Which, of course, only ends up hurting himself, because he will always be half diamond.

so this scene was amazing because there’s so many ways to view it, but i can’t help but think about how Steven was doing this to himself, and yelling at himself to stop…
