Aesthetic Perfection's Daniel Graves on Till.
Tell us your favorite tour story regarding Till Lindemann. DANIEL GRAVES: Till is quiet, reserved and incredibly polite. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that. When you grow up seeing this enormous persona with an equally enormous and provocative band, perhaps I expected the man to mirror that. I’ll never forget how on the very first day, when LINDEMANN were done with their soundcheck and we were setting up for ours, Till came up onstage and greeted everyone personally, shook our hands and asked if we needed anything, if we had enough room, etc. I’ve been on a lot of tours with a lot of bands who were a lot smaller than LINDEMANN and never received that kind of treatment. It meant a lot to everyone and really set a positive tone for the rest of the tour. Again proof that Till is a good man and Rammstein is the best band in the world 🙏 ❤️
Traduction by the facebook page Till Lindemann The Poet of Rock
The incredible encounter of a metal band fan with his idol
Rammstein’s Tampere concert exceeded all expectations of Jonna Heynke. Birthday Jonna met the band in person and met the brother she wanted on solo with Till Lindeman.
The soloist of the German metal band Rammstein, Till Lindemann, pulled Jonna Heynke (41) in his arms and hugged himself for a long time. Joan’s face was embarrassed by Till’s makeup. He thought his face should not be washed until at least tomorrow. Like a shirt.
“It was good and safe near Till. He was like a wall. I saw the right Till without the role of interpreter” describes Jonna.
More than 30,000 people were waiting for the concert at Tampere Ratina Stadium on August 9. Until not hurry.
“Would you like to examine my face?” He asked Jonna.
She understood that Jonna was seeing the blind birth with her hands.
“My fingers saw a man who was kicked for life more than enough. But I also saw a man who, despite all the stacked walls in front, pushes forward. I saw a broken man who always reassembled himself.”
Jonna believes she saw Till in her most genuine and non-performing role. He is also sure that the meeting was not the only one.
Jonna went from a line viewer to a guest
Initially, the goal was to attend a regular fan meeting and attend a concert while in place of permant. So Jonna was favored by my lottery. He was one of about fifteen people who met Rammstein personally.
It was not all there.
Jonna said she was blind and wished she could shake hands with the band members instead of selfies. The request has been answered. If she so wished, Jonna would also sit on stage A and a meeting would be sought to introduce her to the band. As a guest, the ticket to the stadium also took care of the queues.
As the lawyer escorted Jonah into the conference room, a fresh scent flooded his nose.
“Is that the Ramm boys perfume?” Jonna asked.
It even turned out to be a long-awaited brother
Fans lined up to greet the band members. The picture could be taken if consent was given. A total of 10 minutes, or less than half a minute per person, has been set aside for over 15 enthusiasts.
It didn’t apply to Jonah. He was introduced to keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz and guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe. Christian and Paul looked at Jonna’s hands, Richard contented himself with shaking hands.
Then the expected sound was heard.
“Hi, this is Till.”
Jonna felt as if she had hugged an old dear friend.
“I could be immersed in your friendly, soft voice. With the same voice, an older brother in my dreams never spoke to me. I can’t always be strong. The sleeping brother gave me strength.”
As she examined Till’s face, Jonna said she had gained a lot of strength in her lyrics in life’s difficult twists and turns.
Even call baby Jonna
Jonna’s hands found Till’s corner piercings and a small push working at her head.
“Until you laugh that luckily he shaved his head in the morning.”
From time to time, Till would pull Jonna to himself in a hug.
“I would like to say a lot. Tell me how I respect you as a human being. But my head didn’t work. My mind and tongue were on strike.”
Jonna said she thought she was shorter and very thin. He added that the man smelled very good.
The meeting ended with a long hug.
“Be fine, honey,” Till wished.
The common story is not finished. That’s what Jonna is sure of.
“It would be nice to sit with him even at the stake and talk with the weather. Not as a fan and an idol, but as a sister and brother.”
Jonna thinks for a moment and adds:
“He took some of me with me and gave me some of himself. I believe he will return to recover what he gave and return what he received. “
After Till, there was a drummer named Christoph Schneider, whom Jonna remembered the drumsticks.
“You take great selfies with the camera. My selfies are in the heart. These autographs written in my soul are part of me. These and the drumsticks I received from Schneider are something no money can buy. ”
Till Lindemann’s book of poetry
Jonna, currently a German translator, is translating Till Lindemann’s book of poetry In Stillen Nächten to Finnish in 2013. The work has already been translated into several languages. Jonna hopes to find a publisher for Finnish as well.
“Once I’ve met Till, I can go deeper into his texts.”
He sent a song about Till to Rammstein’s manager. After the meeting, he received his third verse.
And you were without a paper. You showed me the deep ocean of your soul. The sun was shining on his face. The boat was there, taking you to your secret place. So broken. You are very broken. But so good! Your heart is wide open, Your blazing fire is so real. Let the sun stay in your heart, Don’t let the world tear you apart!
Until a few years ago, Jonna hated Rammstein’s music, even though she hadn’t really listened.
“I was in the village with my friend and she played a beautiful ballad. When I praised him too much, he said it was Rammstein and listened to more songs from them. “
A friend also told about the band and especially Till Lindemann and his story.
It was already night.
“The next day I realized that Rammstein and Till Lindemann, with their ingenious thoughts and lyrics, changed my life. I don’t know how, but my life turned to sunshine when they entered it.”
Jonna and Christian Heynke were married on August 31. Imatra. The wedding theme was Rammstein and space. Jonah’s journey to the bride is described in Society 36/2019.

After the amazing show in London last week, I think that Lindemann have knocked Rammstein off my number 1 band spot.  It’s still a very close thing, there’s little between them, but I’ve found myself turning to Lindemann first, and I I must admit that enjoyed Lindemann live even more than I did Rammstein. I favour smaller venues and Till seemed more relaxed and seemed to have more fun than he does on the Rammstein stage.
Rammstein’s untouchable gods setup has a lot to be said for it and no band out there puts on a better or more awe inspiring show, but there’s another type of magic to be found in Lindemann’s concerts. I genuinely felt such an incredible connection to Till, Peter, the band and the crowd. I could see the movement of every eyelash and the lines of every frown, and Till just oozes charisma.
It was complete madness and a whole new level of surreal but I adored every second of it. The interactive elements such as the flying fish and cakes only added to the fun for me. It was like the best possible combination of a circus and a rock concert. Seeing the band enjoy it as much as the audience made it all the more special. I could still see moments where Till was struggling with his stage fright but also so many where his face was lit up with happiness and a childlike excitement. I fell in love with Till all over again that night, and found a new love in Peter and the Lindemann/Pain band members. I hope that it won’t be too long before they return.

Zoran on Till’s Messer tour.
You were also shooting Till's "Messer" tour in Russia at the end of 2018 - are there any plans to release this footage? What can you say about this tour?
Yes, I was shooting and one day it will come out. Something dirty and loud and very punkish. That tour was absolute madness. it was my hardest job ever, because either I shot the shows, or the after party, or the travel, every time there was something happening what had to be captured in camera. I think you had the chance to see Till how he was 20 years ago. It was like the stuff that I love. The real spirit of sex, drugs & rock’n’roll. It was real punk attitude. That was exactly how I imagined the wild times of Zeppelin, Iggy, Sabbath.

Zoran on reshooting Mein Herz Brennt.
“For Mein "Herz Brennt" you did reshoots in order to improve Eugenio Recuenco’s footage. What is the difference between working with your own material and with the material of someone else?
Zoran: It’s not a good feeling to be honest. The band has been unhappy with his film. So I was asked to make a new edit, but I felt uncomfortable touching others work. Especially because I really, really admired Eugenio’s work (until he started his shitstorm). So to make a new version we had to reshoot. I took some of his scenes and made a new story of it. In the way that I told a story, that played years later, when the Rammstein-kids grew up. Well, Eugenio “thanked” me with a shitstorm campaign against Rammstein and, somehow against me. It started right on my birthday, and Spanish and Hispanic fans wrote me bad comments and letters. He even misspelled my name in his posts, campaign, whatever it was. So, was I the one to blame? Pfff. Thank God and the Universe I did the “Piano Version”, which is 100% me ... Me and Till. THAT’S my real “Mein Herz brennt”, which burns all the other stuff away.

Zoran on working with Lindemann.
What are the main differences between working with Rammstein and working with Lindemann project?
In Rammstein you have six opinions, in Lindemann - two. Lindemann is more wild and raw, we do here stuff that Rammstein wouldn’t do. Yes, maybe it’s not so popular like Rammstein, it’s more edgy. And why? Because it CAN be edgy now. So Peter and Till, with this punk/metal attitude, decide to be more spontaneous, while with Rammstein many think-overs and discussions have to be done. Well, at least in the times when I directed for them.
Is it your idea trying to kill Till in almost every Lindemann clip or he's asking for it?
Zoran: Since „Mein Teil“ he wants this from me, and I want it from him. No, I am thankful, he gives it to me, for his art. He is the one artist, who sacrifices everything for his art. for art itself. I only know Marina Abramović who does this. We both know when the scene , the act, the moment, is good - most of the times.
So, yes, we want it both. But also, I don’t want it to be a common thing now. Somehow everybody is expecting that now, and even saying that it is just a repeating pattern, that I always use just for the shock-effect. That’s not true, that’s not my intention. It always depends on the song, what metaphors and what imagination it demands. But , I am sorry for that, almost every time I find it in „suffering“. And to add something important for this: everybody only sees the violence, but nobody sees the sadness and loneliness of his figure in the videos. This is the real motive for the actions.
But: people see what they want to see. The more room I give for interpretation, the better for everybody. And so everybody can reflect his taste, fears, desires in that.

Zoran on the Platz Eins video.
Now as everybody has seen it, you can ask me questions about it too. Maybe I say some stuff here: So, while they made the „big“ video, “Frau & Mann”, I shot the dirty little small one , in-between their breaks, or before they went to shoot. We had to do it in a limited place, and shoot it in a very, very short time. It was very wild, and we improvised a lot. It is about Till, dreaming of being number one. That was my approach. Not the real thing, a fantasy. So how has to be the situation be, that you fantasize about something like that? It must be hell, it must be the absolute opposite. He has to be totally helpless. And worse: even blind. There will be something else coming out, something very raw, and it will close the circle. “Ach so gern”, “Knebel”, “Platz Eins”, and the new one, all is part of one big thing. “Frau & Mann”: I have nothing to do with that. So, be surprised.

What are 5 random things that make you happy?
1) Till Lindemann: He isn’t a thing but you all knew that was coming, but he makes me happy beyond measure. There are no words to express how much I love and admire that man.
2) Animals. Almost any animal. Just looking at them makes me so happy. Wild or domestic I love them all.
3) Japanese food: Especially sushi but Japanese food generally. It’s so good, and so delicious without being too heavy on the stomach. Also they had the best seafood dishes.
4) People who add a comment on reblogs. It doesn’t matter what they say, if it’s a long commentary on the subject of the pic or just an OMG! I love reading them.
5) Fanfiction: I honestly think that’s it’s one of the best things ever invented. I’m an avid reader who is really struggling to read actual books right now, but fanfiction is always there for me. I have several fanfictions I read over and over again when I’m feeling down and each time I read them they make me as happy as they did the first time, and it’s always exciting to see new works.

Being Till Lindemann.
“It must not be easy to be Lindemann either, you think when you observe him in the hotel lobby, where he is getting ready to head for a music video recording session. Around twenty men are constantly circling around Lindemann; people from the record label, managers, media professionals. They are pulling on him, talking to him. Pushy passers-by who recognize Lindemann are kept away from him. Lindemann, a 56-year-old guy, stands amidst that commotion like the Sphinx of Giza among the pyramid tourists. He must also be tired of all this fuss.”
