{ℬ}- The change in him was very clear and obvious, at least it was to her. She could feel him relax as he returned her embrace at last and felt herself relax slightly in turn. Had she finally convinced him then? And when he corrected his wording from before, it sounded - at least to her - as if even he was having a hard time believing it now too. At least she hoped so, if there was one thing she never wanted him to doubt, it was how much she loves him.
And if the use of a potion so he could see for himself what she had been telling him all along would do it. If that would be what it took to finally put those fears to rest, then she’d do it with absolutely no hesitation. And seeing him intimately as well.. That said more about love and trust than anything else could have.
She wasn’t under the illusion that he had always been all bark and no bite. Even she wasn’t that naive when she even first heard of him. But in most things she had an open mind and had come to understand him more and more as time went on with the two of them side by side. She was still learning things about him and finally she’d see Rumple as he was before the Dark One and in his early days as the magician.
And a less important thing, assuaging her curiosity of what he’d been like, what he’d looked like when he first took on the mantle. Looking at him now as Mister Gold and knowing him as her imp made her realize quite quickly he hadn’t always looked the way she had known him in the Dark Castle even if she hadn’t caught that brief glimpse of his past self when their kiss almost broke his curse.
Tumblr media
“No matter what I see, Rumplestiltskin… I may not agree with methods you’ve used anymore than I do now no matter what the intent behind it had been. But I’m not going to love you any less for them.”
And she could honestly say that with conviction. True Love didn’t just fade away and besides that, one couldn’t just be shunned for things they’ve done in the past even. No matter what those things may be.
Belle was quick to assure him that she wouldn’t love him any less no matter what he’d done, and he smiled slightly in spite of himself. It was just like her to say that, to remain convicted in her beliefs, and in her love of him. But she was preparing herself to see acts of evil, and their were plenty of those. But his cowardice, was she ready for that? And his worthlessness. He’d once told Zoso that without his son he’d be dust. Nothing. When Belle saw that, truly finally saw that, could she still love him? Was Nothing lovable? Only one way to find out.
And he had to confess, he was interested to see Belle’s life. Her childhood, her relationship with her mother, her love of books. And of course her love for him. Maybe he could finally see what she saw in him. Maybe he could finally at least start to understand why she continued to stay by his side, no matter what happened.
Tumblr media
So he used his magic to make said potion appear in his hand, moving to pop the cork off. “Alright then. We each have to drink roughly half of the potion. Once we do, we’ll go into a trance like state. It will be like watching your memories happen, only with someone else with you, watching too. So we’ll be able to communicate with each other, we just won’t be able to stop what’s happening. We won’t be able to wake up until we’ve seen everything.” Luckily it wouldn’t take as long as it had when they had actually lived it. Otherwise they’d be here for far too long.
“It will probably last a few hours, maybe even a day, since I have lived quite a bit. So we should probably do this in our bed, or at least sitting down. Whoever drinks first will have their memories experienced first, so which would you prefer?” He held the bottle out in-between them, willing to do whatever Belle wanted. They’d end up seeing all the memories eventually anyway, so it wasn’t like it mattered who went first. He supposed he would like to go first to get this over with, but they were having to do this because of him, because he couldn’t believe he was lovable. So in the end, he’d go with whatever Belle decided.

{ℬ}- As she listened to him speak, she took in different details about him; such as making a connection to where he likely originated from due to his accent. The Frontlands if she wasn’t mistaken. He was far from his place of origin if she was correct in her assumption, but then since he was a soldier he likely went where ever he was needed. Especially if he was a traveling swordsman like she had heard of. She also gained his name and smiled at how it seemed to suit him so well.
Rumplestiltskin he called himself. Unique, one of a kind in fact. He was the first that she knew of to ever have such a name and she smiled when he granted her permission to use a shortened moniker. Probably for the best that, as she didn’t want to accidentally mispronounce his name with her own accent.
Then he was telling her he wasn’t so easily done in, and she didn’t see any arrogance in his face as he told her this. No smug and arrogant smirk like she had seen countless other times on other soldier’s faces. Confidence was one thing, arrogance was another entirely. It made her wonder though, how it was that he was so confident. But she wouldn’t ask, not yet at least. They had only just met and she didn’t want to seem as if she were prying.
“Well I’m very glad, I was able to help speed up your recovery,” she replied honestly. “Every little bit helps in times of war, doesn’t it?”
There wasn’t much she was allowed to do when it came to assisting with the war, though she felt if the people had to fight and others were doing their best as healers or supplying the said soldiers and healers, then she should do her part as well. To her a leader should not only guide the people, they should also assist them in any way they could.
And whether Rumplestiltskin was technically one of their subjects or not, he had still found his way into Avonlea. That then made him someone to help and protect. So that was exactly what she had done regardless of what anyone thought.
But then came the subject of what was going on in the war itself and she felt her smile drop quickly.
Tumblr media
“Last I heard they created a blockage to keep them from reaching the pass and drive them back into the mountain trenches. Their plan is to set traps and pick off those remaining one by one from higher ground. That would be an excellent strategy if ogres fought like men, but they don’t. We as human beings rely more on sight. Ogres being blind rely more on scent and sound. I worry they’re only trapping themselves. Besides that, isn’t the mountain ranges where they originate from? They would know the range better.”
She looked down at her hands which she only noticed then were fisted into her dress on her lap, but made no move to release her grip on the fabric. So many were out there dying or getting horribly wounded. She just wished the war would come to an end and all of the soldiers could return home to their families. And speaking of families..
“Oh I should have asked right away. Is there anyone back at your home I should send word to as to your whereabouts? A wife perhaps?”
She was correct. Every little bit helped in war, which was why he wanted to get back out there as soon as possible. He had already saved so many people with his magic, and he wanted to do more. He knew now he would have died if he’d fought before. He’d always known that, but the fighting he’d done now highlighted that. The only reason he could survive now was his magic, an advantage he wanted to give as many of the other soldiers as he could.
Especially if they were going to be stupid. Rumple might not know everything about Ogre’s, but he’d been fighting them long enough to know that their sense of smell often gave away traps set by man. He’d not thought about them being native to the mountains though. Belle made a good point. He wondered if perhaps she was a tactician. But if she was, why would she be wasting her time on seeing patients? Surely her time would be better spent planning out the war?
Tumblr media
But then she mentioned his family, and for a moment that was all he could think about. “No wife,” he replied, a sad smile slipping onto his face as he remembered how he’d failed to protect her from the pirates. “I have a son though. But I should be able to see him in a day or two, so no need to worry.” After all, he’d found his magic worked best when he could see his son. That kept his emotions balanced. When he was missing his son his magic seemed weaker. Almost like he needed to be happy and have human connections for his magic to work. Which was interesting.
“But I hadn’t thought about that, the Ogres being native to the mountains. If you were going to make a plan to stop them, what would you do?” He had a feeling Belle would be able to come up with some interesting new ideas, and they could always use new ideas. Anything that could catch the ogres off guard was worth a try.
“I’ve thought of trying to trick them with too much sound, but I think they’re able to use their smell to compensate. It didn’t work as well as I’d have liked.” Which in turn required him to use more magic, and when he did that he often ended up in comas, like the one that Belle had found him in. “It’s really hard to think of ways to stop them when you’re constantly on the move and trying to keep people from dying. Especially when their commanders are idiots.” Which happened more often than not. But at least in this country, no one had started recruited children to fight. That seemed to be unique to the Frontlands. Good thing he’d put a stop to that.
“So if you have any ideas I’d love to hear them. You seem to have given this all a great deal of thought.”

Unconventional Therapy
@fairestmusesofthemall gets a plotted starter
Gold was here, talking to Blue. And it felt so weird, talking to the Fairy Godmother like they were friends or something. But she understood him a bit better than all the mortals in town, and she’d asked about how things had gone. Everyone in town knew Belle had moved out, and that she’d almost been forced over the town line. And he hadn’t minded talking about what was going on. It wasn’t a secret, and it wasn’t terribly painful.
Tumblr media
“I mean yeah, she wasn’t happy with me,” he said, shrugging a bit. He didn’t like making Belle upset, but it wasn’t like it surprised him that he did. “But she’s willing to still see me, which is more than I expected. Honestly, I’m just glad she didn’t get angry enough to remind me I should be dead. I never liked it when Bae’s mom did that, even if she was right.”
It was all said in matter of fact tone. Rumple clearly wasn’t aware that any of what he’d just said wasn’t normal, even though if something like that had happened to his son or to Belle he would have outraged. “So no, she wasn’t thrilled, but we’re getting hamburgers together soon so… if I don’t screw things up this might work.”

{ℬ}- Belle felt a pain in her heart with each thing he told her “captured by him, their relationship was stupid, Stockholm Syndrome”. That last one especially was what really hit her the hardest. She knew what that was of course, she had heard it said enough and being a lover of books had looked it up.
It hadn’t been hard to put the pieces together after that. Apparently people thought she was as crazy as the hospital staff had tried to convince her cursed self that she was. Apparently they thought she needed to still be locked up or at least away from her True Love.
They could all go fly a kite for all she cared. What hurt the most was that they had somehow convinced Rumple that, that was the case as well. Her grip on him didn’t loosen in the slightest, if anything she somehow held him even tighter. It hadn’t been long that the curse had broken, but she was still no closer to convincing him of her genuine love for him than she was in the Dark Castle.
But there was one thing she could still remind him of. One thing that would blow his beliefs out of existence. If this one last thing didn’t, then she didn’t know what would.
“If I’m just crazy, then how did True Love’s Kiss start to break your curse?” she asked, her voice much softer now but no less sad and pained. “Imagined love can’t do that, Rumple. Hence the name True Love. I don’t know all of the pain that you went through in your life, but I love you more truly and deeply than anything. And you didn’t “capture” me Rumple. You made a deal with my father and when he didn’t do the noble thing, I did. It was a choice I made, not a capture.”
Capturing her was what Regina had done. Imprisonment was what she had endured for thirty years.
Tumblr media
“If there was a way for you to see my thoughts, to see yourself through my eyes, I would take it in an instant..” And then she stopped, gasped and looked up at him. “Is there?”
He hadn’t meant that she was crazy really, just that he was tricking her somehow. He didn’t think Belle was crazy. She was smart and kind and probably too trusting, but not crazy. And he hated seeing her hurt because she thought he thought she was. He wanted to argue that point the minute that she brought it up, but she kept going, and brought up the one thing that he couldn’t deny.
True Love’s Kiss. I had worked. They had shared a kiss, and it would have broken his curse if he’d let it. He had no doubt about that. He truly loved Belle, cause who wouldn’t, and she truly loved him. Or what she knew of him. Was it possible for True Love to be tricked that way? He didn’t know. And he wasn’t sure if he could ever be certain, not unless she fully understood the things he couldn’t make himself tell her.
And that’s what she wanted, he soon realized. She wanted him to see through her eyes, so surely she’d want to see through his too. Or at least she wouldn’t mind it. And then… then he could know once and for all if he was lovable. Because he had no doubt that, if it was possible to love him, Belle would be the one to do it.
Tumblr media
“I didn’t mean that you’re crazy,” he whispered, finally holding onto her now, hugging her back. “I used the wrong words. I meant… I was tricking you, somehow.” But he wasn’t sure he could explain that adequately, or if it even made sense to him, so he continued. “But… you might be right. I mean I know you love me truly now. But… if you knew everything would that change? Belle you are the most amazing person I’ve ever known, and if anyone can love me it’s you. I just… I’m not sure it’s possible.”
And he was scared of finding out if it was. Finding out that he was unlovable would shatter him. And finding out the reverse… well he didn’t know what he would do with that information. But…. “I want to find out if it is. I want to show you the worst of me, to see if you can still love me despite everything. And in the end you’ll either leave and it will be for the best, or I’ll finally be able to stop doubting your love.”
“There is a potion, where we can see each other’s thoughts. Experience their memories. It’s intensive though, and both of us will see everything of the other’s life. It’s not going to be easy. But if you want to do this… I’m willing.”

"Gold. It's flu season. You got protection? Didn't see you in the clinic yet." (From Arthur/Doc)
Tumblr media
That was rather a stupid and pointless  question in his opinion, although Gold supposed he couldn’t expect the dwarf to know everything about him. “I’m the Dark One, dearie. My magic makes me both immune to the flu, and unable to pass it on. So yes, I’m protected. And all without you sticking a needle in my arm.”

His eyes widened a bit in surprise as he looked up at the prince who was currently holding him against the wall. The man looked to be rather aroused, and Rumple found himself flustered. “Need something?” he asked, trying to remain neutral as he assessed David.

When people spoke of vampires and their powers, they often spoke of them like they were describing a mindless predator. What they didn’t ever speak of is their more practical uses, like knowing when someone was about to have a complete breakdown. Gemina reached out as she heard his heart start to race, his eyes shifting in every direction and the stench of adrenaline beginning to fill the air.
“Rumple,” Gemina’s voice was as firm as it was soft, “there is no one here. It’s only you and I, it has only been you and I all day.” Her fingers wound around his wrist, pulling the man’s hand up where she encased it in her other one. Cold and soft, she stroked his fingers like Cinead had always done for her in the rare moments he was present for her world closing in. “Look at me. Focus on me. Breath.. Slowly.. No one has found you, nor will they. I’ve hidden here for over ten years and you will hide here until you are safe, do you understand? No one can hurt you as long as you’re in my care.”
She’d not really shown him much of her softer side, often speaking to him in the same manner she had when they’d first met aside from the rare show of humanity in fits of giggles and sleepy good nights. Here though, here she knew he needed more than that.
He looked at Gemina finally when grabbed him, scared for a moment before she spoke and started stroking his fingers in a calming manner. He tried to do what she said, focusing on matching his breath to hers as she spoke. He shook his head though, not entirely convinced she was right. He’d seen her, out in the streets, hadn’t he?
“But… but she was right there on the street,” he defended himself, even as his conviction weakened. Had he seen her, or just a woman in a green coat with red hair? After all, he’d killed her, hadn’t he? He remembered. He’d turned her to porcelain and shattered her into as many pieces as he could. Could she really have come back from that? Surely not.
And even if she had, Gemina would be stronger here. A vampire against a witch who was unable to reach her magic? Gemina would win hands down. He was safe here, with her. He had been for the past ten years, and he was now.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, pulling away a bit, embarrassed now. “I shouldn’t have ever suspected you I just… I wasn’t thinking straight,” he admitted, gripping the handle of his cane tightly so he could have emotional as well as physical support from it. “It just… that woman looked so much like her. I was sure it was her.”

Don't!
Tumblr media
It broke his heart, seeing his son so distraught. He hadn’t meant for the boy to even notice. He’d meant to slip out of the hut they lived in while the boy slept. But it was obvious that he was trying to leave, to go somewhere. And his poor son probably thought he was just too much of a coward to face it when the guards came to take Bae away in the morning. But that wasn’t it. He’d just wanted to slip outside, to call on the last person he could think of to help them, even if Bae would be against it.
“Bae, it’s okay,” he promised. “I just needed to step outside, get some fresh air.” And ask to make a deal with the Dark One, not that he’d admit that to his son. He didn’t know what he could offer to a being like the Dark One, but he’d give anything he could if it meant saving his boy. “I’ll be right back, alright son?”

Something about the touch and the way the other spoke caused the prince to become rather hard within seconds. His bulge was evident from within his trousers as he gulped to himself slightly.
“How would…that kill two birds with a stone?” He asked, licking his lips as he dared not to think what it meant. Something in him was telling him no, while another part of him was telling him to go for it. He didn’t know what to do. Especially as he felt his body betray him and move closer to the gate, feeling more of Rumple’s touch on him now.
Tumblr media
“Never had a cock up your ass I take it?” he asked with a smirk, moving to gently cup the prince’s bulge. “Let’s just say it can be quite pleasurable. I could orgasm from that alone,” he promised, tightening his grip on the prince’s groin, enough to give the man some friction but not enough to hurt or trap him.
“It’s entirely up to you of course, just so long as we both orgasm.” He gave the man’s cock a little squeeze before suddenly stepping backwards, out of reach. It went against what his body craved, removing himself like that, but it seemed David was receptive and he hoped a temporary absence could make the man agree to do this. “So, do we have a deal? You have sex with me, and I’ll owe you a favor. Sounds like a fair deal to me.”
every deal has a sacrifice

Gemina’s face twisted in confusion at his accusations. She’d not spoken to anyone about him aside from her own colleagues and even that was for his benefit. Grabbing onto the hands holding her, she encased them with a gentle squeeze in an effort to make him let go without using force.
“I’ve no idea what you’re on about. I’ve spoken to no one who knows you and even if I had, why would I give you over?” She asked with a voice dripping in annoyance. “What is this all about? What woman and what plan?”
She grabbed his hands, but didn’t use force. Not yet anyway. He knew she could throw him off her if she wanted, and the fact that she hadn’t was confusing. Unless… she was telling the truth. His grip on her loosened a bit but he didn’t move his hands. Instead he stared into her eyes, trying to make sense of all of this.
“But she’s here,” he muttered. And if Gemina hadn’t tipped her off, how had she found him? But it seemed the vampire was telling the truth, and so he let his hands drop, taking a step back. How had she found him then? How? “I don’t know what she has planned, but if she’s here she has to want something,” he reasoned, eyes glancing down the hall or at the walls, anywhere but at Gemina. He felt like he was out of breath, his heart beating too fast. “If you didn’t tell her….” Had she found a way to track him with magic? Would he ever be free of her? After all he’d thought he’d killed her before he’d seen her on the street. Who knew what she was capable of? “I… I can’t let her find me. I have to… have to….” He didn’t know what he could do. Especially not when he was breathing so fast that the world was spinning.
