Do you ever think about that first time Eddie agreed to help Maddie move? Like, his Abuela had just broken her hip and was still in the hospital, Pepa was working, Shannon wasn’t in the picture, Carla wasn’t around yet, he’s in a bad place financially with no aid yet and working crazy hours in a new city, raising a kid alone, he is OVERWHELMED.
Then the guy he’s been working with for like a month asked him to help his sister move, a woman he hasn’t met, and Eddie said yes, of course! With a million things on his plate and I have to assume on a rare day off when Chris is at school he jumped in his truck and came over to help Buck move because that’s the kind of guy he is and I love that the day ended up being about Buck being there for Eddie but I refuse to lose sight of the fact that Eddie on that day was just as eager to help Buck first despite everything going on in his life.

cats being capable of understanding accidents and even giving you a little head bonk to let you know you're still cool makes it infinitely funnier that they don't understand when you're trying to help them
cats when you step on their tail: i'll admit that was rather ouchie, but given the lifetime of goodwill and trust between us, one must conclude this booboo is but a fluke.
cats when you try to get their claws unstuck from the couch covering: this nefarious bitch has never had a single honorable intention in their dishonest and shameful life, this must be one of their sinister plots or perhaps even an attempt on my life,

Another thing about the El Reno tornado is that other than just being physically restrained to keep Tyler from running off to Kate as she’s actively now in that tornado, is that he then had to be dragged away from the doors by Boone. It’s subtle, but Javi and Boone both are telling Tyler to get away from the doors, and Boone legit grabs his arm and essentially drags him away… thats so crazy, had Boone and Javi not been there Tyler would have for sure run after Kate, which only would have ended in disaster but he would have.

Buck: Look, I know you think my judgement's clouded because I like Eddie a little bit.
Chimney, holding Buck's notepad: You doodled your wedding invitation.
Buck: No, that's our joint tombstone.
Chimney: My mistake.

you KNOW cathy was so glad when kate came back home after all that time no matter how broken she was but she also must have been so so so unbelievably relieved as a mother to see that kate was opening up to others again and she had people taking care of her. like obviously part of her making tyler stay for dinner and giving him the guest room was typical mom scheming because why would you let a guy like that slip through your daughters fingers? but also, she watched her daughter lose three of her best friends and push everybody else away as a coping mechanism and there's no way she wasn't so comforted by the sight of somebody coming her her aid when she obviously didn't ask for it and staying for her even when it was an awkward situation to say the least. i just know she would love the rest of the wranglers and let them set up base there whenever. she would love having javi back and cooking them all bbq while they play poker in her living room after a long day. she'd let them redo the barn and put bedrooms in the loft and not bat an eye if any of them moved in more permanently in the off season. she would love boone's help with the animals and dani's help with the machinery. she would let dexter move a whole library into the loft "as light reading when we stay" and let lilly spread new t-shirt design ideas across her whole kitchen and give her feedback while she's deciding. she'd love tyler like a son (in law cause she's still a schemer after all) and tease him when she wears his t-shirt and he'd unclog the sink drain like a man. she'd love javi like a (more favorite) son and the guest bedroom in the house would be permanently his and they'd watch house md together. i just feel like a safe place to come back to that's filled with laughter and home cooked food would be exactly what kate and all of them would need to heal and carry on. and knowing kate's in good hands with good people who love her and let her be in their lives would be exactly what cathy needs as a mother who lost her daughter once.

twisters headcanons & observations, since all the kids (read: like 3 other people in the fandom tag) are doing it
-kate’s leg wound was deep enough to give her nerve damage. she uses lidocaine cream and a tens unit for pain management
-the carters are muscogee; cathy lived on the okmulgee reservation till her early twenties. kate got her associates’ degree at the college of the muscogee nation, and attended mvskoke language immersion camp a couple summers as a teen.
-cathy & kate’s full names are catherine & katherine, respectively. someone talked cathy out of passing down her name, first initial & all, during her pregnancy
-tyler was raised by his aunt and had minimal contact with his mother. he was picked on as a kid for being poor and/or a science dweeb, which is where his unapologetic streak comes from
-lily’s the shy one of the wranglers (when we first see her she avoids engagement with the crowd, and seems slightly more self-conscious in front of the camera than the others). she’s perfectly comfortable around the crew because she knows them, and has a thrill-chasing streak to match any of theirs, but to the public she’s the most elusive
-boone is trans and was kicked out because of it. he met tyler while hitchhiking; the youtube channel was his idea
-javi’s interests laid more in math & compsci before he transferred to muskogee state. if asked, he credits kate with indirectly showing him that the path for him was stormchasing (and it’s the source of the crush he used to have on her, too)
-javi, especially college-age javi, gives me “running from something” vibes. i feel like he transferred from miami to oklahoma in a strategic bid to be as far from home as he could manage while still securing his future, and then joined the military for the same reason.
-(referenced in a prev post but) javi is pretty tight with the hardings, following picking up the dorothy tech from them. jo’s like a cool crazy aunt to him
-dexter’s background is in music (look up his actor! he’s so fucking cool!!), but he’s a man of many hats, and has been in love with meteorology his whole life. the wranglers picked him up from his ex-girlfriend’s place, and being a part of the channel has helped him gain the confidence to write & make art again.
-dani’s another case of getting kicked out for being queer, though in her case she was more frozen out than kicked out. her and dexter are a bonded pair practically; they both have experience with not measuring up to unfair expectations.
-i hope you’re picking up found family energy for the wranglers, and then ultimately javi & kate, at this point, because that’s exactly what i’m putting down.

What I thought Twisters (2024) was gonna be about: Hot Cowboy Glen Powell.
What Twisters (2024) was actually about: disaster capitalism.

Doctors should snark at each other more, be a bit mean. Not for no reason, mind you. But if five doctors blow me off about symptoms and doctor number six FINALLY runs actual tests and gets a diagnosis, I think it should be Doctor Six's right to call up the other five and tell them they're lazy pieces of shit. That should be socially encouraged. Those first five doctors clearly can't listen to patients, but maybe another doctor might finally get to them.
