my new tattoo by @carabid !! a salmon egg, alevin, and fry! Alevin is the ‘newborn’ stage of a salmon, where the little fish still has its egg yolk attached to nourish it until it grows enough to fend for itself as a fry (x)

I would like a million dollars so I can give it to this man to carve whatever he wants in wood surfaces all over my dream house and also any public buildings he feels like, please.

Hi, I'm wondering if you could tell me anything about the colouration of this cat? These are the only two photos of Venice, a domestic shorthair from the Saskatoon SPCA, and it says "Most of her fur is a chocolatey brown, but then the last section of her tail is orange with tabby markings!", I don't think I've seen that before, is that unusual?
that is SUCH a cool colouration!
she's a seal tortie mink (so black-based tortoiseshell + one copy of Siamese-type pointing + one copy of Burmese-type pointing).

all pointed cats darken with age, so the best way of differentiating them is by eye colour. Siamese-type points come with blue eyes (like my Belphegor). Burmese-type points come with fully pigmented eyes (can be orange, or green, or yellow). and if a cat has a copy of each gene, you get an in-between eye colour that's more of an aqua, or washed-out green.
here's a seal tortie mink ragdoll, to show another example of the colour.
