- I got to ask them all a question during the panel so I asked what their favorite horror movies were (Jeff said he didn't have one, but he really liked "The Exorcist", Barbara said that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" scared her alot, and Bruce said "Night of the Living Dead" scared him so bad when he was a kid)

- I got to meet Barbara and ask her a couple questions, I asked what her favorite film to work on besides ReAnimator was and she said she really liked "Jakob's Wife". And I asked her what her favorite band was and she said it was a hard question but really likes "Journey."

- I met Bruce and got in his line a couple times he was so fucking sweet and warm he was really easy to talk to. I asked him his favorite band and he said hes been really into "Nick Cave" because he really likes his lyrics. I got into the line and got his autograph on the poster but then I went back in line again so he could write he favorite quote from ReAnimator and then he signed it again so I have two Bruce signatures on my poster 🥺🥺 He was really nice about it too.

- Jeff was so fucking sweet I told him I think hes one of the best actors in the business and he was so humble and so beautiful. I got into his line twice and asked him what his favorite band is and he said hes been really into a band called "Khruaugbin" that his daughter put him on. Also when we were waiting for him to appear, he came out of nowhere, walked by me and stopped and looked at my cosplay and just said "Herbert." And I 💧💦

- When I went up to Bruce to get him to sign a quote, Jeff came over and was like "Barabara told us not to personalize it because its a 'collectors icon'" and Bruce was like "Shh dont tell her." And Jeff was like "No, do tell her." And they had a little back and forth.

10/10 experience would go see them again, I gave them my little keychains I hope they like them.

This is going to sound so "oldie yells at cloud" of me but the radicalisation of the young into black and white, zero shades of grey thinking, both in the media they consume and in real life situations, is genuinely terrifying.

The world is complex. The world is grey. There is infinite nuance in everything. No amount of trying to shove it all into neatly labeled boxes is ever going to work.

While working on some parent and merc art I had thoughts on whether or not to include headcanon parents for those who don't have any. And on that train of thought I realized that in the decade of me being into tf2 I don't think I've ever seen fic, art, or hc in which Medic had parents that he liked or got along with lol And I decided to be different in the most unhinged way possible and just go... "yeah he has two dads, yeah they're both weird scientists, yeah he's a test tube haunted slime baby, yeah his parents are Egon Spengler and Hebert West - the two pop culture icons he's heavily based off of" This is incredibly indulgent to nobody else but me lol - but now it's out there - and now this explains my personal hc that the medigun beam works like the proton stream in ghost busters, it locks into your soul

i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.

in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. martha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.

But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.

our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1989. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.

anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.

So far in LA an Australian news reporter has been shot in the leg by a rubber bullet, a British reporter has been shot by a sponge bullet and sent to the hospital for emergency surgery. A NY Post reporter has been shot in the head with a rubber bullet and went to the hospital for a large bruise on his forehead, whiplash and neck pain, and CNN reporters were handcuffed and escorted away being told to not come back or they will be arrested BECAUSE they are reporters.

It seems like all reporters there to give the real story are being targeted by police/ICE/military in LA.
