Watching "I saw the TV glow" might have been the strongest experience of catharsis I ever had.

when Owen’s dad is holding her in the shower and light is flickering on him in the same way the tv would every time we saw him, and he looks like a bit like Mr. Melancholy???

Well apparently I Saw The TV Glow is supposed to be a horror movie and yes the feel of threat that you're life is sooo dull and it feels like nothing you do will ever make it happy and good is upsetting. But I didn't associate it with horror somehow? It was more a feeling of emptiness, which I guess is some kind of horror too.

I saw tv glow is like YES the realization you are trans might implode your life and make the world you live in uninhabitable but that will happen anyway if you don’t do anything about it. if you retreat from your own needs and refuse to let yourself resurrect you’re still gonna run out of air and even the tv show that kept you alive at one point won’t be able to bring you back

Just watched "I saw the TV glow". I think I have to lay down on the floor for a while. Some thoughts:

- the aesthetic of The Pink Opaque is so retro comftable and comforting in some way. Mr Melancholys moon face, the pink and blue lights, the stars and ghosts, the TV buzzing

- the "I just like TV shows" made me laugh just bc I thought this was rly ace of Owen. I know it's about Owen being trans and not wanting to deal with his identity, so he also avoids thinking about sex. However I just could relate to that line.

- Mr Melancholy's name: The big baddy is the feeling of sadness and regretting the past. Like it's that glimpse of happiness Owen once felt (when he was Isabell, his true self) and this feeling slips away from him now and being the cause for a great sadness.

Most of the time the melancholy is a yearning for sth unknown, because he hid those parts of him. Same for Maddy. She didn't know why life used to suck, bc she didn't know what to look for.

What do you need, set designer, script writer, costumes, hair, make up, filming???? Do I have any qualifications for this? No, duh, but I'm willing to learn all these jobs just to be part of a Solitaire movie production...

can we PLEASE make a solitaire movie. i know it's not canon anymore because of heartstopper but it's so beautiful and i need it to become a movie so badly.
