I might sound a little bit like “the too woke friend” by saying this but I’ve never really understood the point of coming out, people shouldn’t assume that everyone’s straight. Obviously if someone asks tell them, but having to declare your sexuality to the people around you especially when it’s such a daunting task for most? I’ll never understand it.
#exactly#everyone has different home situations for sure but as far as society goes#coming out wouldn't be so daunting if we could normalize not assuming everyone was straight#especially in situations where coming out can be dangerous too#i don't think its necessarily bad to just accept it as part of yourself and only tell others if they ask and you feel comfortable talking#about it#my family is cool with all of that but I've never “come out” to them#i just answer any questions they ask and they seem happy to just generally be aware I'm not straight#if your family is not okay with you being straight i don't think anyone should feel obligated to tell them#they should only be privy if you feel like its not an option to let them remain ignorant#it's your saftey and i don't think society as a whole should put some much emphasis on pushing the idea that you have to come out even#in an unsafe situation#ranting lol

People dont care about perfection. perfection is boring. if your story is perfect people will forget about it. its how we are wired. we remember the strange, the weird and all things left open.
