Their conversation slowly faded into laughter and Ellington knew that their conversation had taken a turn into someplace where they were just themselves, even if they came out as if they were actually five-year-old's the way it carried on what with Bo's sheep and Woody and Buzz. It was something that normal twenty-year-old's didn't talk about. Then again, when had Rydel and him ever been considered “normal”? As Ellington stood there, the pair talking about the wildest of things, the brunet drummer couldn't help but notice how truly good Rydel looked in the light of the bar the pair had been leaning on and accepting drink after drink from. Not “good” in that she looked nice or decent; no, right there in that light, Rydel looked quite beautiful-- although Ell had always been aware of the fact that the blonde was good-looking, but it was suddenly dawning on him just how good-looking she really was and it was odd that even though he could currently make out four guys who were checking her out, she seemed to be content on putting all her attention on the drummer in front of her. Ellington couldn't imagine a better feeling.
Ellington didn't really know what could possibly be so bad that he would ever want to leave the blonde and it, in all honesty, wasn't something he wanted to dwell on too much. Shaking his head, he smiled softly at the girl, wanting her to know that he was totally being sincere. “I'm never leaving you, 'Del..” Even though it was meant to aide the girl in her worries, it was a promise that the boy never intended on breaking. Of all the things that the boy had worried about happening, he had never once guessed that this kind of thing would happen. The kiss-- in his mind-- was perfect and the kind of thing that they tended to write songs about. It was apparently obvious from the first time their lips touched that they just molded together so perfectly and their lips were made for one another; a thought that scared the shit out of Ellington. This was his best friend and bandmate! They weren't supposed to be doing this kind of thing! Voices in his head screamed these kind of things, but Ell shoved the thoughts away roughly, wanting to just focus on the girl currently in his arms. As her fingers gripped the short hair at the back of his neck, Ell couldn't help the small noise that came from his lips. With his hands still gripping at the fabric that clung to her hips, Ell broke away a moment later, opening his eyes to look at the girl. “'Del..” Her name left his lips, but hung in the small tiny space between the two. Reaching up, Ell tucked a piece of her blonde hair behind her ear, his eyes never leaving hers. Instead of saying something else and ruining what could be a perfect moment, he leaned in again, his lips claiming hers again.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
"You’re the picture perfect example of people having too much free time!" Rydel smirked at him, but she knew that she was glad he would like that. She loved him for his goofiness, and she wouldn’t have him any other way. She could listen to him talking about these movies all day, or anything at all, and she wouldn’t be bored. "Yes, we’re making it a thing! One of the lambs would be called Chops! And Bob, because that’s a cool name. It’s totally a thing now, since there has been names for Bo’s sheeps." She giggled at her mistake, and corrected herself. She loved being with Ellington, because she could be as dorky as she wanted with him. "Okay, I’m sorry. Would it make you feel better if I thought you were the coolest person in the room? Or even, the world?" she moved her hands outwardly, to gesture to the whole world. "Because you are, at least to me. And if anyone else doesn’t think so, screw them!" Rydel didn’t know what made her feel all warm inside, the drink or the fact that she was here with the drummer. The drink was endless, and she felt endless too. She couldn’t wait for her birthday, because she could go out and do this more often. Maybe not too much shots though, because there were only so many times she was prepared to make a fool of herself. "Oh ssh you! You enjoyed it anyways!" she playfully hit his arm. Even with this much alcohol, which was a lot compared to what she ever had before, there was still the same dynamic between the two. And she more than relieved, because it helped keep her at ease knowing she’d always be able to stay herself with him.
"Exactly!" Rydel nodded, but the smile that been on her face for a while started to falter. "And we’ll always be together, right? You won’t leave me after a while, will you?" The thought of him getting bored of her made it feel like her heart was deflating. The kiss was everything she dreamed of and more. It was worth the long wait, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. The two melted into each other, and she knew they were made for each other. To her, they crashed together like the sea and the sand. She brought one of her hands up to the back of his head, and her fingers gripped the short hair there. Rydel embarrassingly had no idea what she was doing, but whatever it was felt good. Her tongue trailed over his nervously, and the feeling shot off even more fireworks through her. Her mind kept telling her to stop, because he was just drunk and she would just fall deeper for a guy who didn’t love her. But she pushed those thoughts away, and focused everything on the boy in front of her.

“What can I say, I have a lot of free time on my hands outside of touring and recording,” he joked, smiling happily at the blonde. He didn't know why he was all of sudden randomly babbling about this, but he was glad that the blonde was humoring him. “That actually sounds like the best thing ever, can this be a thing? Please, Delly,” he whined, wanting to blame the alcohol but he knew it probably wasn't all the alcohol's fault as he normally was just that dorky. When the girl started to list off the people who were supposedly cooler than him and better to hang around, he couldn't help but pout, his bottom lip jutting out as he ran a hand through his hair. “Rude.. just rude. I would never say something like that to you,” he stuck his tongue out again, not really caring if he appeared childish to anyone who might have been looking their way-- he was just like that and now even more so with alcohol in his system. Get over it! The alcohol was making his body feel warm and light and he knew that was in thanks to the tequila shot the pair had done; the room already swaying slightly, as if it wasn't already hard enough for him to keep his balance what with the blonde falling into him ever so often-- not that he was exactly complaining. He wanted any and every excuse to put his hands on the blonde girl. “I can't think of anything at the moment!” He shouted back, his mind foggy and in this haze that he knew would only result in a giant headache the next morning, but he didn't care. He wanted to enjoy this time he was spending with the blonde because it didn't matter how much alcohol they had in their systems, they were still the same Rydel and Ellington.
“Right, because it's like.. a package deal so if you get one, you get the other and then it's like we're always together and how can you not love someone when you're always together?” He slurred, his words not really making any sense to him anymore, but he hoped the blonde kind of understood what he was saying. Ellington felt like his whole body was on fire and yet he was floating at the same time. Every little touch from the blonde just made sent lightning through his veins and he wanted more. So much more to the point that he couldn't even begin to fathom why the pair hadn't been kissing for the last four years. The drummer kept her incredibly close as the two kissed. Ellington didn't even hesitate to open up to her when she ran her tongue along his bottom lip, his own meeting hers anxiously, as his hands gripped at the fabric of the dress that was clinging to her hips. Now they looked like every other couple in the club who were grinding and slow dancing and making out on the dance floor. Rydel tasted so sweet and her lips were as soft as Ell had always imagined and they just seemed to fit his perfectly. With the music pounding behind them and the alcohol making him feel alive, he let his hands run along her side, not wanting to break the kiss ever.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
.
"You’ve thought this through a lot more than any normal person would," Rydel commented, watching him take his breaths. If anyone else would have said that to her, she’d have called them crazy. But coming from Ellington, it was one of the sweetest things she had ever heard. "I always thought she’d probably have a name all of her sheep. Woody would bring Bulls Eye over to their farm and they’d be a proper happy family!" She grinned, indulging in his idea. She didn’t know what caused her to order more, but she wasn’t going to back down. Maybe she wanted to prove to herself she could have fun, or maybe she just wanted to fun with Ellington and not get so worked up about stopping herself blurting out the wrong things. He didn’t seem to mind either, so it worked out. "I can think of several people who are. Batman, Spongebob, Buzz Lightyear…shall I go on? I could." She smirked at him, proud of her argument for some reason. Her mind was fuzzy, and she wasn’t able to think straight completely, so she was doing a good job of standing her own argument. Rydel thought she’d be all over the place at this point, bu she was doing good. She was falling a little and giggling a lot, but other than that nothing stupid. She liked the tequila a lot better than what the brunette was ordering, although she struggled with the lime. "I’ve done a lot worse for you!" she exclaimed, as she wiped her mouth. She’d always do anything for him, no matter. She noticed a twinkle in his eye, and started to feel excited. The room started to really spinny, which it wasn’t before. She placed most of her weight on the bar top, hoping it wouldn’t look obvious that she was now feeling the effects of everything that she had taken. It was so much fun, and she loved the feeling. She had to do it more.
"I don’t think either of us could love the other more," Rydel told him, stumbling a little on her words. "We’re like a package deal, you know? We go together!" She wasn’t sure if what she was hearing was true, but Ellington’s words made her feel on top of the world. She hoped she’d remember this moment the next day, because in all of her years this was the happiest she had ever been. Only Ellington could make her feel this way, and after all the years of him complimenting her as a friend, this felt more real. She didn’t know if what she was doing was right, or if he was too drunk to care, but kissing Ellington just came so naturally. Everything lit up, and she felt fireworks. She had never believed they were real, but being here she knew just how amazing they felt. And she needed more of it. She trailed her tongue on his bottom lip, begging for entrance. All of her senses had fled from her mind, and she couldn’t bring herself to care about any of the consequences. All she could feel was Ellington kissing her back, her body was afloat on cloud nine. It was worth the wait, and she hoped this wasn’t going to be the end of it.

“Ugh, you're right, the Spanish Buzz is the funniest thing ever, but Woody and Bo beat that even because they are so adorable and he is like.. a cowboy and she is like a woman of the south and he could call her ma'am or something and she probably drinks ice tea and swings in tire swings or something in Alabama!” He rambled on, not pausing to take a breath until his whole thought was out and he deflated a little, taking in a serious of tiny, short breaths as if he were trying to make a point. Ellington's eyes widened a bit when the blonde suggested another set of shots and he just nodded, trying not to let her know how much the alcohol was really affecting him. He wasn't really a lightweight but hard alcohol and beer and other things were very different in terms of how quickly they murked up her system and shots like the ones the pair had been doing were affecting him quickly; even more so than a few beers would and he wondered if the blonde knew that, although he knew there was no possible way for her to know unless one of her brothers had told her or something. “No one is better than me, take it back,” he pouted, turning around to see the guy's she was talking about. Just like she had said one of them had their tongue down a girl's throat and the other was just kind of standing there. The drummer couldn't help but a feel a slight twinge at her words and how she had called them hot, but he tried his best to keep his emotions in check as the bartender came back with their shots. Taking the salt from Rydel, he did the same, making a face as they reached for their tequila. Ellington had only ever done a couple tequila shots before and he had vowed he never would again because of how they messed with him, but since the girl wanted one, he couldn't really bring himself to say no to her. Repeating the steps that were necessary for a shot of tequila, he quickly downed the liquid trying not to gag before reaching for his lime. “Ugh. The things I do for you!” He called over the music, although his eyes twinkled in a meaningful way that almost said 'I'd do anything for you'. Everything else kind of slipped away and once again it was just him and the blonde and although he tried to listen to what she was saying about underwear, nothing really registered and he just laughed.
“Yeah? Okay, I will settle for equal,” he chuckled, loving the smile that dominated the blonde's face. He loved knowing that him and him alone had put it there. The drummer knew the alcohol coursing through his system was probably making him say things he would come to regret the next morning when Rydel realized that she had been drunk and hadn't really been that into him, but he hoped it didn't come down to that. He really hoped that this wasn't some kind of sick joke the world was playing on him; no matter how much alcohol either of them had consumed. Ellington's gaze remained on her, not being able to glance away or break the little bubble they were in. It was kind of like he was sort of in a trance, but he knew one thing for sure and that was that no amount of alcohol had made up the words he had spoke to her. Sure, they might have given him the courage to do so, but they the words were from the heart and truthful. The brunette drummer wasn't sure what was going to happen next, but he could honestly say that he hadn't expected the blonde to pull him in for a kiss. Still, he didn't pull away, only making sure there wasn't any space between their bodies anymore as he kissed her back, his lips never faltering, as his hands gripped her hips. This was something he had been wanting for a really long time.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
"I really do. Although Buzz and Jessie have Spanish Buzz which was probably one of my favourite things ever, Woody and Bo were always really adorable so they win!" Rydel agreed. The thought that they were both referring to themselves as a couple and neither were denying it actually excited her. Only those two would get away with it, and she knew he probably didn’t see it like she was seeing it, it felt nice. As much as the blonde hated the idea of being a lightweight, she was feeling tipsy. She hoped she was doing a good job of acting like she was sober, because the last thing she wanted was Ellington to be right. But like her, he seemed to be getting affected by the alcohol. "Should we do one more? I think I’ll be able to go home to face my family with one more." Without waiting for his reply, she got the bartenders attention and ordered two more drinks — a shot of tequila for both of them to be more adventurous. As she waited for him to come back with the salt and the lime, she started to laugh at him. "Speaking on behalf of someone who tends to get stuck with you a lot, it isn’t all that fun!" She turned around to look at the other people around her. "Well, anyone else here would be better than you! We could ask the hot guy over there, or even the guy beside you once he gets his tongue out of that girls mouth." As the bartender came back, she saw the judging look on his face and started to laugh along with the drummer. She placed the salt on her hand and passed it to Ellington. "You ready?" She’d overheard what to do from Rocky and Riker, and hoped it was as good as they said it was. Rydel just stared at him, wondering how the person who stole her heart happened to be as goofy as him. They were green, she knew that since he showed her. The person behind him was staring at the two, but she didn’t care. They had gotten dirtier looks for weirder reasons, so this was nothing. "Of course they’re green," she teased. "You see, now there’s no mystery! And no, I’m not showing you mine." She found it adorable that only Ellington would do that in the middle of the club, and she hated the thought that some other day, he might do that to some other girl. She wasn’t going to feel jealous about his future girlfriend though, she had time to enjoy single Ellington and that was what she planned to do.
Rydel shot him a huge smile, not knowing what to think. She knew she could say something stupid, but she didn’t want to. “I think it’s equal,” she told him, happy with her answer. She did see what her brothers saw some of the time, and this was one of those moments. But she would overthink all of their close moments, and she knew that both of them had alcohol in their systems so it didn’t help. The blonde let it slip, and got back to apologising for falling on him. His hands made her feel steady and safe, and she wasn’t ready for him to let go. Rydel spent the whole day dreaming of this happening, and not that it actually was she didn’t know what to do. Would this ruin their friendship? Would they just laugh it off and go home, pretending it never happened? She let her thoughts go and she lost herself in the moment, allowing herself to move in a rhythm with him. She blushed under his gaze, not sure what to do. But his next words caught her off guard, and although it was everything she’d always imagined he’d say, she didn’t know how to reply. So she decided to brave this time, and she closed the gap between them. “Well, I couldn’t ask for a better dance partner.” She leaned in to capture his lips again, wanting more of the feeling his lips gave her, the sparks he caused traveled through her veins. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him dangerously close, needing more of him. The blonde knew this could spell trouble for them, but they could worry about it tomorrow. Tonight, she was going to have fun and see where the night took them.

“You love it, don't lie. But Woody and Bo were like the best... I mean next to Buzz and Jessie, but I don't think Buzz and Jessie stood a chance when it came to Woody and Bo,” he nodded, leaning against the bar a little. Shots were not his usual go-to drink and the alcohol always invaded his sense faster than just a beer or two or even three! Ellington noticed a couple people looking at them, but he just shook his head, turning back to the blonde. He tried to remind himself that they had come out to celebrate and for Rydel to have a good time and as long as she was smiling and laughing and giggling he was going to continue whatever it is he was doing. “Everyone would want to be stuck with me, I mean, have you seen me?” He boasted with a slight smirk. At the blonde's words though, he frowned, shaking his head. “How dare you! I would be a better ruler than Baby Lynch-- as much as I love him you know it's true so don't even lie!” He chuckled, earning a confused look from the bartender on duty. Ell could slowly feel himself just becoming looser what with the alcohol in his system and it made him feel amazing to know that Rydel was only looking at him instead of the other guy's in the club who were probably hotter than him and probably looked better than him with their shirts off. The thought left a sour taste in Ell's mouth, but he tried to shake it off, listening to the blonde as she spoke. “But they're green and awesome!” He shouted really loudly, pulling his shirt up a little so the blonde could see just the top of his boxers which were in fact green. The drummer knew the conversation was probably headed to a weird place but he couldn't help but want to continue the conversation because it gave him an excuse to keep laughing with the keyboardist.
“Hey that might be true,” he admitted with a sheepish grin. As much as the couple played it off, Ellington really didn't know where they stood anymore along the lines of friendship, bandmates and lovers. After Kelly, the drummer was ready to take a break from it all, but as he spent more time with the blonde he couldn't help but want more and more of the blonde and want to spend more time with her or just be able to kiss her in public or something. The drummer helped steady her as she stumbled and when she was righted again, he couldn't help but love how close the pair had gotten although he hoped it didn't show on his face. He didn't want to ruin everything with the blonde, but could it really be ruined by something like feelings or would it just make it better? Ellington was thankful when she kissed him back and didn't just shove him away like he was kind of thinking she would. The kiss was like nothing he had ever experienced before. It was like electricity running through his veins and sure he had kissed other girl's in his life, but this was Rydel and it was perfect the way her lips just seemed to meld into his, so full and soft. He hated that he had wasted a decent part of his life by knowing the blonde and never kissing her. After a few moments the pair parted, but Ell opened his eyes and kept them on the blonde. “Yeah,” he breathed, nodding softly. “You're the most gorgeous girl in this room, Rydel.. There's no one else I'd rather be kissing or dancing with right now,” he admitted, the pair still dangerously close. He knew that he could have possibly just ruined the whole thing, but he really hoped he hadn't.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
"That’s just like you too! That makes us partners!" Rydel giggled, trying to perfect her southern accent. She didn’t want to think about how he took that, she was done trying to stop herself from saying anything dumb because she knew with the more she drank, the more she’d be liable to say. She saw them receiving a couple of odd glances, but they were having fun and she didn’t care if talking about things like this didn’t seem acceptable in clubs. "Well, you are a jerk. That means I lost my title fairly and squarely! They wouldn’t behead me, because they know if they do they’re stuck with you and who would want that? At this rate, we’ll have to get Ryland to be the ruler to save the kingdom from you!" She smirked at him victorious. She had forgotten what started this conversation with the alcohol starting to cloud her mind, but she was going to stick with it. She had to win - for some reason that she didn’t know. Maybe it was all the different colours from the lights, the feeling of from coming off stage from one of their biggest venues or the people around them making out, or just simply because of the alcohol, but Ellington had never looked better to her then that moment. And she didn’t trust herself, or the amount he planned on them drinking, because she knew one false move would ruin their friendship. "Since I like you, I’ll keep you around for now. But once I find out the colour of your underwear, it’s sadly time to say goodbye." The smile on his face made Rydel’s heart beat just a little faster, but she successfully acted like it was nothing. She knew it was a safe idea to not talk about his underwear anymore though. She was pretty sure she was embarrassing herself a lot more than normal, but he didn’t seem to mind. And honestly, if he kept smiling like that she’d do anything just to keep it on his face.
Rydel giggled, covering his mouth with her hand. “Not as much as you love me!” She retorted, not able to deny his claim. Maybe it wasn’t love that she felt for him, but it was pretty damn close to it. She stumbled a little closer into him, and held onto his arms for support. Now they were just a little too close than they should, but she wasn’t going to push him away. “But honey it’s the truth,” she said soothingly, glad he was stepping closer. She missed the contact, even if it was for only a couple of seconds. Looking around, the keyboardist noted how many of the couples or people just hooking up seemed to be matching how they looked. They mightn’t have been getting hot and heavy like everyone else, but there was barely any space between them. She felt safe with him, not having to worry if some random person was going to try hit on her. Maybe she needed it to get over Ellington, but she couldn’t bring herself to make out with a stranger. It was wrong, and it wasn’t like her. Rydel was brought out of her thoughts as he started to lean in. Her mind went blank, and her heart was racing so fast, that she was sure it was going to shoot out of her chest. She kissed him back, pressing her lips softly against his. Although she was unsure of what she was doing, she felt fire spreading through her. A few moments later, she pulled back with her face still close to his. “You kissed me,” she stated, unsure of what to do. Rydel was always embarrassed at the thought of being the only who hadn’t been kissed, and especially at 20 years old it sounded worse. But she was glad she hadn’t before this, because even if it did mess things up, he was the only person she ever imagined her first kiss to be with, and it was even more perfect than she’d always imagined.

“Hey, just like you! And Woody is dorky and a cowboy and like, he's great!” In Ell's drunken stupor he just couldn't help but go on about Woody and Bo even though there were so many other things the pair could talk about. Any person who overheard them probably automatically knew that one of them wasn't old enough to be in that club-- only Ell was sure that if someone were to guess they would think he was the one who was under age and they'd pull him out of the club and Rydel would stay and laugh. The thought made Ell chuckle, but he quickly shook his head, shaking the thought away. Ellington listened to her case about how he was the jerk for calling her a loser and how she would be the hero and whatever else the blonde was spouting, his head feeling a little foggy, the earlier drinks now kicking in. “Hey! It's not nice to call someone a jerk, so you lose, too! They would behead you or something. They want me as the hero!” He prodded his own chest proudly with his thumb. Ellington noticed the look Rydel was giving him and he couldn't help that it did something to him. His eyes were locked on hers or he was holding onto her or laughing at something she said and trying to sneak glances when she looked away. Ellington just couldn't help that he was feeling a certain pull to her as of late and it was enhanced at the moment and all he wanted to do was be near and around and wrapped up with her. “I'm afraid I'm not, Ms. Lynch. As much as I'd love to be a mysterious guy for you, it's all there out on the table,” he frowned slightly with a shrug. “Other than what color underwear I'm wearing. That's a surprise!” He nodded, a dorky grin overtaking his face. The brunette drummer nodded, agreeing that both of them should be equally intoxicated when they finally stumbled home and came to the next morning so no one person felt they had been more sober than the other and therefore not responsible for whatever had happened the previous night. Not that Ell thought something was going to happen, but it was a precaution.
“Puh-lease, you just love me. Rydel Mary Lynch loves me,” he said in a sing-song voice as he kept her close. He didn't mind the closeness at all, but them being close and cutesy like this wasn't something new to the pair; they were always like this. As she pushed him away, he pouted, holding a hand to his heart. “Rude, just rude,” he called over the music as he just moved in close again. Ell knew it was a club and people danced like this all the time so it probably didn't surprise anyone-- although most who danced this close were making out or grinding and the pair had yet to do either so that was what would most likely attract stairs. In Ellington's mind, he wanted to keep her close so that no other guy would have the option to. He knew that no matter how you looked at it, he was being selfish in wanting to keep Rydel to himself for the evening, but he didn't really care. The drummer shook his head, not even giving the redhead another look, his eyes on the blonde in front of him as she kept saying he needed to go dance with her and she would disappear or go drink something at the bar. Ell couldn't help himself as he pulled her impossibly close before leaning in, closing the distance between their lips, one hand moving to cup her cheek as his lips moved against her.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
"I like Bo Peep! She’s blonde and pretty, and the third movie’s only fault was not having Bo in it!" Rydel beamed. The idea of the two of them talking about Toy Story in a club was so surreal to her, but it was them and they never did things by the book. If they did, they’d be boring and they wouldn’t even be here. “No! Right now you’re being a bully, and don’t deny it because being called a loser is never nice!” she exclaimed, trying her best not to laugh. “I’m the hero because I’m nice, you jerk.” The atmosphere was electric, and it was crowded to the seems. But Rydel could only keep her attention, and her eyes, to the brunette. Sure there were some hot guys walking past her, but they were either a). making hot with someone or b). not Ellington. As much as she tried to, she just couldn’t get over whatever feelings she had for him. And the points that made her feel that maybe he had feelings for her too were only adding fuel to the fire inside of her, no matter how much she knew she couldn’t be right. “Oh, so you’re not one of those mysterious guys then? I’m so upset, I always liked a bit of mystery.” Rydel bit her lip, and shrugged at his comment. “You might have once or twice, but I still love hearing it.” She watched in amazement as he stole a shot, and quickly got the bartender’s attention. She ordered for one for herself, and turned to face Ellington again as she waited for it to come. “We should stay on the same level, so neither of us can be all high and mighty tomorrow.” She suggested, and downed the shot quickly when it came. The burning sensation was stinging her throat, and it only added to the dizzying affect it had in her head.
"Whatever you say so," she giggled. All the thoughts in her mind quickly went, as he wrapped an arm around her. She fought the temptation to just snuggle in closer to him, and tried to stay as normal as she could. "I would hate you, the only thing going for you is your ability to have food on you all the time! Well, that and your sweet style." Rydel joked, playfully pushing him away. Looking around, she knew no one else was dancing this close. She wasn’t complaining though, his hands on her made her body feel electric, and she wanted more of it. She knew that club dancing was always a little flirty, so maybe he was just doing what he did before. She looked at the redhead again, feeling a little insecure in herself. Rydel knew she was much prettier, and she flaunted herself like she knew that fact. But Ellington’s words did make her feel better about herself. "Have you seen who I’m talking about? She’s gorgeous, and she definitely has the hots for you! I’ll make myself scarce and go to the bar if you like." Honestly, she didn’t want to see him getting closer to someone else. It hurt with Kelly, and she didn’t want to go through it on what was supposed to be one of the best days of her life. "I’ll have a drink on you. Have fun with her!"

“Hmm.. I guess I could start singing that next. I'm totally Woody and that means you'll have to be like.. Bo Peep or something!” He chuckled, the alcohol making him feel warm inside. He wasn't drunk by any means, but he was definitely a little tipsy and he could feel the effects of the alcohol making him feel loose and good inside. “Why do you get to be the hero?” He whined, throwing his hands up. “I'm more of the hero than you are. And it's not my fault you're all losers!” He laughed, shaking his head as he noticed the space between them was practically nonexistent. They were standing as close as more than half of the people in the club were, the only difference being that him and Rydel weren't together-- not that you would know that judging by how the pair was acting. Looking around for a moment, he noticed that a few people were staring at him and the laughing blonde and he was tempted to say something, but he refrained, turning his gaze back to Rydel. “I'm just not one of those guys,” he frowned, shaking his head. “Really? I always assumed you were the one who let the dogs out..” He exclaimed, throwing his hands up. Ellington smiled at the blonde, wrapping his arm around her waist in return as he smiled brightly. “Really? Did I mention you're the best?!” He shouted over the music. Holding a finger up to the blonde for a moment, he quickly did another shot from the person beside them who had started to make out with his girlfriend in favor of doing his freshly ordered shots. He gagged, making a face before turning his attention back to her.
“Am not,” he continued to pout, the new bit of alcohol still tickling the back of his throat. Ellington squeezed her side, where his arm was still wrapped around her, wanting to make her giggle, but also enjoying having his arm around the girl and not really having to think about it. “Oh is that so? You'd hate me?” He teased, squeezing at her side again with a smirky-grin. As they danced, Ell couldn't deny that it just felt right having her this close as they danced to the music and even though he didn't want to let her go, he wasn't sure he would be able to play it off as the beat of the music and whatnot if he continued to keep her so close so he let her go, just focusing on dancing by himself to the music although his arms felt empty without the blonde. As Rydel moved closer, Ellington just said “fuck it” and wrapped both his arms around her waist, keeping her close as he momentarily stopped swaying so he could listen to Rydel. Pulling her a bit closer, so he didn't have to shout as much, he shook his head. “Why would I want to go dance with some pretty redhead when I have an even prettier blonde right here in my arms I could dance with?” He shrugged with a slight smile. His words weren't a lie nor were they because of the alcohol-- he actually meant it.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
Rydel started giggling even more, and she could tell she was getting more than a couple of odd looks from everyone around them. “Next you’ll be singing You Got A Friend In Me!” Not that she was complaining, he made the movie even more amazing for her, with their usual Toy Story movie nights. She honestly didn’t know how she managed to find a friend like Ellington, and what she ever did to deserve the world’s best friend. So she knew trying to act on her feelings would be end disastrously, with their friendship getting cold and awkward. The blonde knew she was imagining signs from him that meant a lot more, but she had spent their whole friendship pining for him and this was bound to happen. “I was going to say evil queen, but I didn’t want to hurt your ego,” she smirked playfully at him. “I am definitely the hero in this! You got too full of yourself from all that awesomeness and now you’re terrorising the village and calling us losers!” They were too close, but Rydel knew that if she were to try move it would just make things awkward on her part. So she settled into it, basking in the closeness. “That’s your secret? I was expecting something a lot more badass, I’m really disappointed. I had my hopes you were the one who let the dogs out,” she chuckled slightly. As much as the keyboardist tried to push down the feeling, she was nervous and terrified. And she was sure he could tell with all these horrible jokes. She smiled over the feeling, and placed her arm around Ellington. “Well I guess we found our plans for tomorrow.”
"You’re like a cute little puppy!" Rydel exclaimed, trying her best not to laugh at him at this state. She knew to expect any future boyfriends to get like this with her brothers, because they were very protective of her. But she never thought Ellington would be reduced to feeling like this. "That is very unfair. I’d hate you if you didn’t feed me," she playfully hit his shoulder. "Although, you and Rocky get your fair share of comments too. You just really love us Lynch’s." Dancing so close to the brunette brought her back to their days at The Rage, but only this time there was a lot more hormones and unresolved feelings in the mix. She loved being this close to him, but when they pulled apart she continued on dancing as if nothing had happened. She could feel a pair of eyes on her, and she felt uncomfortable. Rydel tried to dance it off, but it was nagging her. She looked closer to the girl who was watching them, and she realised that the redhead was eyeing up Ellington. She felt her heart break, and although all she wanted to do was run off to the bathrooms and cry, she moved closed to her friend again. "Hey, there’s some really pretty redhead watching you," she told him, speaking over the music. It could never be said that Rydel wasn’t a good wingwoman, and she wanted to make sure he was happy. Ellington’s happiness was all that mattered to her. "You should go dance with her! She looks like she wouldn’t mind your company." She knew he’d have more fun with her and she hoped he couldn’t see how hurt she was. "I’ll be fine on my own."

The drummer couldn't help but nudge her back again, not caring how childish they looked to wandering eyes. “In the words of The Genie, 'You ain't ever had a friend like me'.” The brunette was chuckling at the thought of her offing him because he knew it was just so unlikely. Even though she claimed she'd find someone knew, he knew that there was something special between the pair and he was certain he wasn't the only one that felt it.. whatever it was. “Your last laugh will be losery and not at all epic like the ones from the movies that you're referring to and furtherm--” he stopped in the middle of his sentence, an appalled look on his face, “Are you implying that I'm the evil king?!” He chuckled, shaking his head as he was tempted to lean in and tickle the blonde or something, but he refrained not really wanting to get kicked out of the club for something as stupid as that. Ellington noticed that even after he had moved a little closer to the blonde, the space surely couldn't have been that tiny? He had only moved a little bit! That meant Rydel was moving closer to him, which meant that maybe she was feeling the strange current that was running through him, as well. “I get worse than this.. there's my big secret!” He pouted, running a hand through his hair. When the blonde replied with a Scooby-Doo quote, Ellington knew he had found a good one. “God, now I really want to eat some pizza and watch number one and two of Scooby-Doo.”
“There's nothing funny or cute about me fearing my life,” he shook his head. On any normal day he got along with the four Lynch boys just fine-- great even! They were all good friends and they all had a mutual understanding on looking out for each other, but all of that could change in a split second if they found out he had knowingly gotten their sister tipsy in some club. He had seen how they acted when they were angry or upset and he honestly was a little scared of the elder Lynch's when they were like that. The drummer just shrugged it off with a cute smile, laughing. “I hear enough, so I think I'm allowed!” The brunette was acutely aware of the hold that Rydel had on his hand, but he assumed it was just so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd or something, not because of whatever he was thinking it was. Sighing inwardly as he reminded himself for the tenth time that evening that Rydel and him were just friends and that was all they were going to be, he squeezed into a space on the dance floor that wasn't entirely packed so that the two could dance without bumping into the other people who were grinding and practically fornicating to the song that was playing. Ellington pulled the blonde close for a minute as they danced, his hand not leaving the small of her back, only to move away after a few moments, just moving by himself to the music.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
Rydel nudged him back, a smirk growing on her face. “I’m sure I can find another comedian,” she replied quickly. “I mean, as funny as your jokes are, I’m like a ninja when it comes to these things.” The thought of even getting rid of the brunette was scary to her, and she planned to keep him around for as long as possible. She rarely found someone to click with as much as she did with Ellington, apart from her brothers. And she honestly couldn’t see her life without him in it anymore, he’d managed to find his ways into memories that she knew for a fact he wasn’t around for. “My last laughs will not be losery! They will be epic, like the person in the movie that everyone is rooting for finally taking over the evil king!” She couldn’t stop herself, and soon Rydel was coming even closer towards him too. They were inches apart, she knew it might have looked odd, but she didn’t give a damn. The closeness felt nice, and they’d honestly always had a problem with personal space. People just didn’t see them at their worst. “Really? You can get worse than this? You poor unfortunate child.” She grinned at him at the reference, and she found it very cute. She always found everything he did to be cute though. “Image is everything to me. Look at my pecks little man." She joined in, having watched the movie with Ross a million times. It was one of her guilty pleasures, but it suddenly didn’t feel so bad anymore.
"I like the sound of that. The less they know, the happier we’ll all be. Although it is kinda cute seeing you a little intimidated by my brothers," the keyboardist chuckled. She knew another adjective would probably be safer, but it was true. She rarely saw him like this, he was always just one of the guys with him. But Rydel did understand why he was like this, she was pretty worried about her brothers finding out. And then her parents would find out, and it would be the end of the peaceful tour journeys for at least a month. "Oh be quiet you! You don’t hear half of what they say so you can’t complain!" She said playfully. They’d often have plenty of remarks about their friendship up their sleeves, ready for when Ell had left for the day. So she knew anything they’d say about this situation would be much worse than she ever heard before. Rydel laughed, feeling relieved. The alcohol felt like it was burning her throat, and if everything else tasted like this, she wasn’t a fan of it. She squeezed his hand excitedly, although she was afraid she’d get lost in the crowd. She didn’t want to let go of him, or bump into some random stranger. Luckily she was quiet small, and the task at hand wasn’t too tricky. The song that was playing was catchy, and although she’d never heard it before, she started to catch onto the lyrics. When they found a spot for them to dance, she edged herself a little too close to her friend. But she didn’t care, she let the music take over her.

The smile that appeared on the blonde's face made Ellington forget where they were for a minute as it was suddenly just the pair and all he could focus on was that smile and the look she gave him. He wasn't quite sure what he had done to deserve that look or if he was just reading too much into nothing, but he definitely wanted to try and make that look appear again before the night ended. Clearing his throat, he widened his eyes for a moment, trying to pull off a serious face before chuckling. “I'll get all your secrets out of you one day.. plus, let's be real, you couldn't kill me! Who would make you laugh all the time?” He teased, reaching out with his leg, to nudge her with his foot. “As long as you can admit that your are loserific and your brothers are sucktacular, you can all have the last laughs.. the losery ones,” he joked, inching just a little closer to her, thinking it came off as him needing to be closer so she could hear him over the music, but he wasn't sure that it came off that way to anyone, including the blonde dancer. “I think I may even be a little weirder than you, but it's all about hiding it. Image is everything.” He winced at all the lame Scooby-Doo references he seemed to be making and he mentally decided that he couldn't watch anything Scooby-Doo related for the next month.
“You know.. it probably will end up happening like that, but in the event it does can we just try to make sure it doesn't happen around your brothers?” He chuckled lightly. He knew that him and Rydel were always joking around each other and it would probably seem like they were hiding something if they tried to play it off differently in front of the others, so it wasn't like they could just not joke. They just had to play it cool. “I know,” he smiled, making a face, “I get to go home in my comfy bed and I only have to take it like... all day long when I see guys.” Although he knew that she was mimicking her brother's and trying to make a joke out of it, she was pretty spot on. He knew that if the Lynch siblings found out about their... celebrating, they'd be upset and disappointed, not only in Ellington, but in Rydel as well for agreeing to do something like this. The bartender set the shots in front of them and the drummer nodded to him, grabbing his while Rydel grabbed hers. “Yes, they get easier to take, trust me!” He shouted over the music before quickly swallowing the shot, making a face as it went down. It wasn't that the brunette was a total lightweight, but a few more drinks and he'd definitely be done in. “Dance?” He shouted back, nodding to the floor. “Let's do it!” He smiled, grabbing her hand and leading her out to the packed floor, trying to squeeze them through the crowd to any open space.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
Rydel beamed at him, feeling happy she made him laugh. She was always happy to joke around with him, his laugh was contagious and even if she was in the worlds worst mood, he’d always have her laughing in no time. “If I told you, I’d have to kill you. The wonders of my mind are top secret,” she shrugged, ignoring the friendship declaration of love. She’d always imagined knowing what it would be like to hear him say it in different circumstances, but she knew it was never going to happen. Thinking of that always made her upset, and she couldn’t ruin this night, so she let the thought go as if she were holing onto a balloon. “I’d be hurt if it wasn’t true,” she sniffed. “But one day, this loserific best friend will have the last laugh.” Rydel watched him out of the corner of her eye, smiling. “You’re just as weird as I am,” she pointed out. “You’re just a little better at hiding it sometimes.”
"And same to you. Although knowing us, we probably will make fun of each other for it at some point," the blonde shot him a look. They weren’t to be trusted on their own, and she knew at any given opportunity they’d try joke around with each other. "Believe me, it’ll be so much worse for me! You don’t live with them when we’re not touring!" Rydel exclaimed, although she was still smiling. "Come on Rydel, you should have known better. Really Rydel? God you’re an idiot," she mimicked her brothers. Rydel couldn’t tell what the deal was with these shots. She’d overheard Rocky talking about them a couple of times, but they tasted terrible. She rolled her eyes at his toast, but continued to take her drink. She placed the tiny glass down on the counter quickly. "Another," she agreed. "Do they get easier to take?" she laughed. Rydel’s eyes wondered to the rest of the girls in the club. They were dressed better, made up perfectly and they were everything she wasn’t. She didn’t want to spend the end of the night crying because Ellington took some girl home, but she wanted to get used to that idea now. The bartender came back with their drinks, and she just shot him a smile before they both took it. She was starting to feel the effects of alcohol, and she didn’t know what was in those drinks or how strong they were, but she didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of the drummer for getting a little tipsy already. "Should we dance?"

“We are obviously awesome butterflies,” the brunette chuckled, shaking his head. “Like seriously, where do come up with this, 'del? I mean don't get me wrong, I totally love you for it,” he continued to laugh, smiling over at the blonde. He didn't know what exactly, but there was something about the blonde keyboardist that he was just really fond of and after all these years he just now seemed to be noticing it, although he assumed he had really always liked those things about her and just never really thought about it because of Kelly. He shrugged her compliment/comment off with a smile. “Well you know.. I can't help how awesome I am, but I can teach those around me.. namely my loserific best friend, aka-- you.” Although Rocky was his best guy friend, Rydel was really his best friend and he was sure that everyone probably knew it as the pair didn't really try to hide how close they were. Ellington couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like to be closer to her, but he tried to never dwell on it because of certain boundaries that never should be crossed because of them being in a band.
“I promise not to use anything you say while intoxicated against you,” he agreed, smiling at her. He knew that they couldn't exactly tell her brother's what they were actually doing so it wasn't like he could really just walk up to Rocky and be like, 'Yo, dude your sister said the craziest thing while she was drunk!' The drummer shuddered at what would happen to him if the guy's were to find out before looking at the blonde. “Yeah, we're not telling your brother's I took you out to drink. Definitely not.” The song was one the brunette recognized as it was always on the radio and even though it wasn't exactly his type of music, he still danced a little although he became a little embarrassed when the blonde started to look over at him and he ended up blushing and looking down at his shoes as he waited for the drinks to come. “Anything is possible!” The first set of shots were quickly downed and the second set of shots came and Ellington smirked, shaking his arms a little as he tried to loosen up for the next one-- he wasn't exactly a major fan of the taste of alcohol. Although the blonde wanted to toast to Ellington, Ell couldn't think of a better person to toast to than the blonde, so instead of shouting for him, he shouted back, “To you!” He shouted back with a smile as he clinked glasses with her and quickly downed the next shot, making a face at this one. “Oof.. One more set?” He asked aloud, the bartender already moving to fetch them.
We're In Danger Of Sleeping With A Friend
Rydel nodded, her smile growing wider. “And someday, my brothers will fly out of their cocoons and learn how to be on our level of awesomeness. That makes us awesome butterflies, and I’m okay with that.” Riker had quickly replied, telling her to have fun and that he’d see her soon, and she placed her phone back in her pocket. How was she going to pull off going home drunk to him? Did this mean she’d have to be careful or hope that Ellington knew how to sober up quickly? This was all so confusing, and she hated being so new at this. She knew she must have been annoying Ell by now, but it wasn’t like she had much experience. A couple of drinks with her parents at New Years and Christmas didn’t count as experience in this field. “Thank you for bringing up my awesome levels. But you’re too damn awesome, you need to give everyone else some time to catch up to you.” She smirked, nudging him in the side.
"I can’t say anything really, I make a fool of myself enough when I’m sober so this deal goes both ways." Rydel offered, but she knew there was no way either could tell her brothers about this. They didn’t know they were drinking, so it defeated the purpose. She liked the idea, and it made sure her brothers didn’t have more to poke fun at her with. She did wonder what he was like drunk, and she had asked Riker after his birthday but he didn’t give much away. Maybe they both had the same pact too. Under his touch, Rydel felt so much better. He shouldn’t have had all of this control over how she felt, but he did. His touch was like magic and it sent shivers done her spine. The sight of her friend slightly dancing as they waited at the bar made her smile, and she found it extremely cute. "With you by my side, anything can happen." Rydel smirked, and took a sip of it quickly. She nearly gagged at the taste of it, and put her glass down. Wiping the sides of her mouth, she couldn’t help but laugh. As she picked up the second one, she stopped him before he took it. "We need something else to celebrate!" she shouted so he could hear her over the music. She thought about it for a while, and soon came up with the perfect idea. "To you! For being my favourite person in the world and making this night possible."
