The Dharamshastra Studies course was introduced under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Alongside the Manusmriti, the paper also featured classical texts like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, and Arthashastra.

This move follows consistent backlash and public debate regarding the inclusion of Manusmriti in academic syllabi. In March, DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh had already clarified that the text would not be part of any study material, after a history department panel controversially proposed its inclusion in the History (Honours) program.

The launch event was attended by SRK interns from the External Communication team along with other members of the university community.

This development follows BHU’s recent appointment as the national coordinator for Institutions of National Importance (INIs) on the Ministry of Education’s SWAYAM platform. In this role, the university is responsible for supervising the creation and quality assurance of online courses offered by over 160 premier institutions across India, including IITs and Central Universities.

NEET UG 2025: Check Category-Wise Expected Cut-Off Marks and Exam Insights

As the NEET UG 2025 results approach, students across the country are eagerly awaiting updates on expected cut-off scores for MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH course admissions in government colleges. Following the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 4, experts have begun predicting cut-off trends based on paper difficulty and past data.

The NTA is expected to release the provisional answer key later this month, with the final answer key and NEET UG 2025 results likely to be announced in June. The category-wise cut-offs will be declared alongside the results.

Expected Cut-Off Trends for 2025

According to academic experts, the NEET UG 2025 cut-off marks are expected to decline slightly from the previous year, largely due to a more challenging question paper. Last year, the general category cut-off rose to 720–162, a significant jump from 720–137 in 2023. Similarly, the cut-off for SC, ST, and OBC categories increased from 136–107 to 161–127.

This year, however, tougher questions, particularly in Physics and Chemistry, have prompted analysts to forecast a drop of 40 to 50 marks in the qualifying range for government medical colleges.

These cut-offs are percentile-based and are subject to variation depending on exam difficulty and student performance across the country, as emphasized by education experts from Vidyamandir Classes.

Expert Insights and AIIMS Expectations

Nabin Karki, National Academic Director (Medical) at Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), projected that the NEET UG 2025 cut-off for the all-India quota (15%) would likely fall between 530 and 560 marks, while the cut-off for prestigious institutions like AIIMS Delhi may range between 660 and 670 marks.

He further estimated that qualifying scores for general category candidates could lie between 130 and 150 marks.

Exam Pattern and Student Reactions

This year’s NEET UG paper comprised 180 questions — 45 each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 from Biology (Botany and Zoology combined), totaling 720 marks. According to Nitin Vijay, founder and CEO of Motion Education, the paper was comparatively more difficult than in previous years, especially in the Physics section.

Education platform PhysicsWallah also reported that students found the overall paper moderately tough, reinforcing expectations for a dip in cut-off marks.
