if charisma was a person, it would be sodapop. he’s the epitome of charisma and flirtation, those traits slipping out every moment possible

these traits came out especially when he’s attractive to someone. so, when he grew a huge thing for y/n, his flirtation only grew more.

it wasn’t too obvious that sodapop had a thing for y/n right off the bat. he was known to treat everyone like that, his behavior the same with every girl who breaths

so when one of y/n’s friends pointed out his potential feelings, she was a bit surprised. she’d known he was the type to flirt with most, so she didn’t realized he’d actually liked her.

however, their first date was proof enough that he did truly like her. sodapop treated y/n with the upmost respect and kindness, compassion and all.

holding the door open, pulling the chair out, walking beside the road on the sidewalk, etc etc

that respect, kindness, and compassion never burns away, either. soda keeps that energy through the entirety of his relationship with y/n, and it’s beyond appreciated

every time sodapop would open the door for y/n, it never fails to make her blush and/or giggle to him

sodapop adores cuddling. he likes having y/n in his arms, especially when they’re sleeping. he’d pull her against his chest

he doesn’t like having people touch his hair, however, he makes an exception for his girl and his girl only.

he whines about it nearly every time, though he lets her do it regardless. she even washes and styles his hair for him often

he does not mind random acts of pda. like, at all. he loves grossing his brothers out, and will even embarrass her with it

y/n tends to visit sodapop at work very often. despite being in school, she finds a way to bring him lunch every day, and will hang out there after school with him

he sometimes lifts y/n up in a hug. lifting her up, twirling her around, kissing her all over. he’s built up muscle just to make sure he could lift her!

sodapop needs loads of reassurance sometimes, and won’t necessarily seek y/n out for it. however, y/n started catching on to when he needed it, and would always give him the reassurance he needs

family means a lot to him, and it means even more that y/n gets along with his. he also wishes to get along with hers

luckily, getting his family and hers to like the other wasn’t the hardest

drive in dates! picnic dates! diner dates! late night at the park! anything that the two of them could together is an ideal date, and soda makes them all amazing

sodapop is a romantic, and nothing will convince me otherwise.

y/n loves listening to sodapops laugh. so, she tries to get him to laugh any chance she gets. his laughs and giggles are the best

sodapops love language is touch, so that’s often how he shows his love to y/n. however, if her love language is something different, he can give it to her in a heart beat

anytime he comes home dirty from his job, she cleans him up before making sure he eats properly, because they both know he hadn’t eaten well those days

sodapop hates arguing. if they argue, he tears up immediately. he would hate for y/n to be upset or mad with or at him

flirting with y/n his his favorite past time. even way after their first date, he loves flirting with her and making her blush !

Daunting shouts were echoing through the Curtis’ kitchen, stomping heard as two people argued, unapologetically even. There was no regard of anybody else in the house. Every seemed to ignore the two, doing their own thing. It left Darry and Y/N screaming at each other, arms waving around as they speak.

It wasn’t often that they seemed to argue, so when they did, it was rough. Y/N knew it was a stupid argument, and she was honestly over it already. Darry doesn’t like giving up on arguments, however, and always seems to drag them out.

Y/N, how had gotten an idea, smiled softly as she went quiet. She was wearing on of Darry’s flannels, buttoned up past her chests delicately. She immediately brought her hands up to the buttons, slowly undoing them as Darry continued to yell. It wasn’t until the buttons were down past her breasts, her chest out on full display as she waited.

Darry stopped right in his place, mouthy closing immediately. He felt his eyes drop down without much thought.

He was shamelessly staring at her breasts, his words catching in his throat. It wasn’t as if Darry had never seen Y/N’s chest, he had many of times. It was the unexpected nature of it that had stunned him. That, and how perfectly her breasts seemed to perk at the ends. The difference in hue was almost perfection to him.

Darry nearly forgot what they had been arguing over.

His eyes barely flickered up to meet Y/N’s, his pointer finger coming up to curl in his direction, motioning to his chest right after. It took him a second to speak to her, though she knew exactly what he wanted to say. He wanted her against him.

darry isn’t the type to be sensitive. he’s learned to conceal his feelings, to not show them to anybody. that would, eventually, lead to problems in any future relationship he has.

he has a habit of picking and biting his nails down. with all of the dirt and grim he deals with during his job, he’s never cared to keep a nicely manicured hand.

the only people he willingly hugs is ponyboy, sodapop, and johnny. darry would be caught dead hugging anyone else.

darry has a list full of his brothers favorite snacks/foods/things neatly folded in his nightstand drawer. he isn’t able to get them treats or nice things often, but when he does, he wants to make sure he gets something they like.

despite caring greatly about how his hair looks, darry uses a two in one shampoo+conditioner. it’s cheapest, and he believes it works just the same.

anytime he finds someone attractive, he would prefer to silently admire them from afar, rather than approaching them. he believes he’s too busy to have a partner.

darry has always had trouble opening up to people and becoming close to them. that only worsened when his parents passed away. he’s afraid that if he gets too attached, they may die, too

his favorite form of escapism is driving around town. he will drive anywhere around town in his beaten up truck, usually in silence

though he would never admit this, darry’s favorite flavor of anything is strawberry. he believes it’s a bit of a girly flavor

he’s mastered the art of being quiet while walking around the house. he’ll sometimes come home late from his job, and doesn’t want to wake ponyboy or soda up

speaking of sleeping, darry has found ponyboy curled up in his bed on several occasions passed out. he simply pulls the covers over him and sleeps in the living room

darry coughs like a dad. overly exaggerated, louder than it needs to be. it sounds like he’s sneezing out a rocket

he has a little diner he goes there at least once a week alone, and gets the same thing each time. all the waitresses know him by name, and knows exactly what he wants

darry has one hell of an arm on him from football, and has found that throwing rocks into a river helps him channel his energy

darry was never the type of person to express his emotions. he very seldom ever expressed them with much emphasis. however, if he did express his feelings, it was usually very direct.

so, it wasn’t too much of a shock when he told y/n his feelings directly. of course, the words he said were shocking, but the way he expressed it wasn’t

most people you knew would hint their feelings, or flirt with whoever their interested. and though darry did flirt a little, it wasn’t the most direct until he spoke it

darry has, directly, asked her out on a date. he told y/n how he felt, and how long he had felt this way.

since he has trouble expressing his emotions, it was always hard to read him. he used that to his advantage often.

y/n, of course, had said yes. she was shocked at how upfront he was about it, not realizing how he had felt until then. though, after thinking about it, his few flirts made more sense

darry takes her on as many dates as he can. everything from diner dates, park dates, and coffee dates. he’s quite the romantic when given the chance

he’s given y/n many flowers! he’s made it a habit to pick her up some at least once a week, using part of his savings on it

y/n always insisted that the flowers weren’t necessary, and that that money could be put towards more useful things for him. but darry always insists that it’s worth it.

darry often times can’t go on dates with y/n, his work interrupting their plans. she’s never mad at him for it, though it does weigh on them both sometimes

his favorite thing is to come back to y/n, especially if it’s her half asleep in his bed. it’s comforting knowing she’s there for him

y/n will sometimes make darry lunches for work! and every time she does, she adds a small note inside for him, telling him sweet nothings and i love you’s

cuddling on his chair whenever he’s relaxing. he’ll pull y/n onto his lap, holding her close as they sit/lay, kissing her softly

ponyboy and sodapop consistently tease the couple. any time they show even the slightest bit of affection, they’ll gag and tease and make fun of them

which, by the way, darry doesn’t show affection in public often. he’ll occasionally hold y/n’s hand, or kiss your gently. big acts of public affection isn’t his thing

anytime y/n helps him clean up or cook, darry makes it a goal to make sure she feels appreciated for her help

always making sure the other feels appreciated, loved, and wanted. whatever love languages is best for them is used

darry’s love language, for example, is words of affirmation and acts of service! he’s best at showing his love, especially by helping out with whatever y/n is struggling with

he lives for receiving words of affirmation though. he never had much praise growing up, especially after his parents died. it gives him hope and the feeling of love when given praise

despite that all, darry is a sucker for holding y/n and being held. something about having her in his arms tight, and being held tight, is special to him

soft, slow kisses that would knock the breath out of anyone are ones darry gives. his kisses are breathless regardless, though his slow and soft ones are on a different level

he’ll, very often, hold y/n’s face in his hands while kissing, just to lean back and admire her face with a small smile

y/n often admires darry. whether it’s his facial features, his body features, or just his personality, she finds herself admiring him a lot

she has a good relationship with both of his brothers. family is something that’s very important to him, so it was something he wished and hoped for

one day, when coming through the door after a long day of work, darry finds y/n sitting at the kitchen table with his brothers. the trio were playing a card game, all with smiles on their faces. nothing had made darry smile quite like that in some time

y/n is also close with the gang. she finds herself specifically attached to johnny, so she often finds herself with him. they’ve got a bit of a special bond

arguments with darry can become pretty intense. he’s got a bit of a short temper, though he tries not to take it out on y/n. his exhaustion and irritation sometimes gets the best of him. however, he always apologizes for his doings

“you didn’t deserve that…” darry would whisper, looking at y/n with teary eyes. “you didn’t deserve that at all, it was my fault. you did nothing wrong”
