@drjulien I remember you posting something about Zane and P.I.X.A.L. dancing in the kitchen and asking someone to draw it. I only had 25 minutes to kill before work, so this was all I could do, but I hope you like it ^-^

The Ninjago movie but Zane has lines:

An attempt to show how easy it would have been for the writers to insert Zane into the chatter, and use movie Zane’s unique character to its, excuse me, true potential.

Jay: My mom is weird and collects seashells; your dad is evil and destroys cities. They all have their… quirks. Zane, also trying to be comforting: I know what a dad is!

Zane: A birthday hug? I will greatly increase the pressure! Lloyd: No no Zane that’s okay- Zane: I remember the day I came out of a human. What a beautiful day. You have lived sixteen of those days, Lloyd. Lloyd: Yeah, I reeeeeally don’t think-

Lloyd: [staring Garmadon down] Zane: Lloyd’s heart rate is increasing. Lloyd: [continued staredown] Zane: Lloyd’s heart rate is- Cole, with a hand to his shoulder: We know, buddy.

Garmadon: Who do you want to follow, the guy who fell off the bridge, or the guy who didn’t fall off the bridge? ninja: [general muttering] Zane, matter-of-factly: That lines up with my objective morality programming.

Nya: I can’t believe we abandoned Lloyd back there! Zane, in mild distress: Retrieving all data with the tag “treating Lloyd as a friend.” Zane, eyes mechanically dilating, then focusing back into an expression just a teensy hint heavier: Oh. Oh, no.

Anyway, Zane confusedly, sadly waving goodbye to Wu after he thinks he’s died makes up for anything this movie could have done. Oh. My robot boy and his strangely companionable relationship with grief.

But they could have taken him further.

(If anyone wants to make one of these for Kai, go for it, because like, geez. On the other hand - Zane and Kai stole the show for the first three seasons, so maybe that’s a little fair!)
