finally read through the illuminae files again and. oh boy. that shit's INTENSE but holy fuk it's good and I need to have everybody else read it bc it's just so good??

llike, the characters are amazing. they're all morally grey and interesting and written so well and there's so many perspectives and the plot is convoluted and full of chekov's guns' and it's so fun to re-read through and notice all of the foreshadowing and characters. the world feels expansive and interesting and you really feel for the characters.

like. this book series will make you want to cry. it will make you fall in love with the characters, despite their faults. the big, scary action scenses really feel real, like lives are on the line, and you are reading, line by line, completely rapt.

there's some characters you'll hate. there's some you'll love. there's some you'll hate and then love and then hate again. but they all feel real. and they're all so, so well-written. no one, not even the bad guys, are seen as "completely bad." you still get to see the human in them, and even if you hate them, you feel for them.

this book series doesn't shy away from grief. it doesn't hide from the atrocities commited by the characters. and that's part of why it feels so real, so interesting.

are there some things i would have done differently? some things i dislike? yes. but overall, overwhelmingly, you have to love this series. there's genocide and murder and companies fighting for blood and it's all painful and sad and so, so good.

make sure to find the TWS before reading, because there's a lot, but overwhelmingly i would reccomend this book series. it's amazing and more people should read it.

also, the the covers are really amazing. and it's written in epistle format, and the illustrations are so cool, and it's sci-fi and GOD just read it already!!

Steddie Headcannons

Ok, Tumblr successfully lured me down the rabbit hole and now I give a shit about these stupid fruits. Full length fic likely on the way soon, despite the many other WIPs waiting to be finished…

Steve sleeps curled up on Eddie’s chest and likes to be little spoon. Eddie either sleeps totally starfish or curled in a ball.

Steve touches Eddie carefully, intentionally, likes he’s something that matters, especially like when tilting his face up for a kiss, and Eddie will never get over how awestruck he feels at being treated like that.

Eddie jokes and pries to get Steve to share what’s going on in his head- he feels the need to talk about everything, but sometimes he overshoots the mark and Steve shuts down.

At first Steve keeps a respectful distance at shows and stuff and just watches Eddie do his thing, but pretty soon he’s basically the tour manager and the official “dude who holds shit” when the band takes the stage (this is a real thing, no one in my band likes having phones and keys in our pockets onstage so normally the girlfriend/family member with the biggest pockets gets assigned to look after our shit).

Steve feels the need to organize everything, to make sure they have food and that their schedules line up and sometimes it drives Eddie CRAZY but he knows it’s because Steve cares.

They’re both confused about how they can feel so protective of but also so protected by someone all at the same time.

Eddie LOVES sweets and junk food. Steve desperately tries to occasionally make him eat actual food.

Steve is WEAK for praise like, just being praised for *being* and not for what he accomplishes/how he’s perceived/whatever. Eddie is WEAK for feeling claimed, like someone cares enough about him to wrap him up and consume him.

As a matter of fact, I did watch Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 2! And as far as I’m concerned, it was a 7 second video of Eddie Munson saying “Harrington’s got her, don’t ya big boy?” right up close to Steve’s face as Steve has a bisexual realization in the front of a camper van.

And you know what? I enjoyed it immensely.
