With no word, only a sharp glance at the doctor she sat down, looking anywhere but him and his tools. "You could still just put in my file you did it, save us both the time and -" her words are interrupted by a large yawn, "-trouble."

For everything I want from the shop we are talking over 300 candy canes. Know how many I have? 40. Working 50+ hours a week and helping someone in a bad situation has given me no time to adventure. How do you people get so many flipping candy canes?

Rhys made a face of shock, then disgust before turning her back. "Don't remind me. I came by to see if you wanted to go down on shore leave, get a drink or two. I did not however come by to be visually assaulted."

"Don’t even start. You’ve seen more of this that the years you’ve lived."

Her eyes scan his, hoping to find something there that says he's kidding. She doesn't. "You bastard, you're enjoying this too aren't you?" Her words are hushed, but the anger infusing them is clear enough. "Fine. Once my shift is over I'll come down. Just be quick about it." She turned away from him and resumed her course for engineering, muttering curses under her breath.

Three hours later her shift was up and she made her way to sickbay, drawing it out as long as possible. Fidgeting with the sleeves of her uniform she took one last breath and entered. .

Rhys looked up to see the mistletoe pinned above the door. Well that was new. Unfortunately the person standing in front of her was her brother's best friend, Leonard. He was rather attractive though, so it could have been worse. Mentally steeling herself for a kiss she was taken by surprise when he picked her up in a bear hug, the air escaping her lungs with a soft exhale. "You're supposed to kiss under the mistletoe McCoy, just saying." She straightened her uniform top, smirking up at him.

Shit. A damn mistletoe. No. There was no way that he was going to kiss her. So, instead of a kiss and following the damn tradition, he gave her a tight hug, actually picking her up off the ground and having her float as he hugged her. He set her down. “…Merry Christmas.”
