A lot of people who were emotionally abused by their parents feel the need to dig their heels in and pretend it was normal and everyone is too sensitive and needs to get over it and like that is a very wounded response you simply didn’t deserve to be hurt by your parents as a child and into adulthood and it’s ok and normal and healthy that it still hurts you and impacts your relationships but that does not have to be the whole story of your life….you can’t change them but you can change you and who you surround yourself with
