CAPSTONE
iHola! Good day, everyone! This week, we are busy preparing ourselves for the mock defense. The mock defense is important because, through it, we will know if the project proposal we are making is ready and has a chance to be approved. We looked at the template given by one of our instructors. We read and understood the instructions because the instructions are a big thing to avoid minus points, so we can do what needs to be done. We immediately looked for the documents or files of the papers we made in each chapter and started making the PowerPoint. One of the things the instructor said was that everyone must have a part in presenting. We talked and divided where each of us would explain so that everyone could speak or be present. We also talked about when we would make a video to pass on. We discussed doing the video online. While making the video, technical errors and unexpected noises are unavoidable. We also repeated the video several times because, of course, it's ugly and not good if what we send has parts where the voice is weak or the audio of the presenter cannot be heard. After we finished recording, we immediately saved it. And we immediately passed it online. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

CAPSTONE PROJECT
WEEK 10
iHola! Good day, everyone! Last week, as we mentioned, we finished Chapter 4. This week we continued making Chapter 5, and after a few days since the last update, we finished Chapter 5.
And we immediately passed it to be checked. We immediately continued revising Chapter 1. Since sem break last week, we chose to continue revising online.
We said in the last week's blog that there are many corrections, so many will be edited and replaced. Just like putting citations and providing references. Also, the information that is in the introduction should be put in context with the project.
And we added the information we got during the last interview with the client, so the issues and problems in the establishment are clearer. We also added the instructor's suggestion to include the Customer Relationship Management System in the project. In the narrative listing, many things have been changed and added because there are things that are said to be missing.
It took us a few days to revise since there are many things that are missing and need to be changed. Yesterday, we finished revising Chapter 1. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

Week 9: the updates of the chapter 4 and 5
iHola! Good day, everyone! Last week, we stopped revising Chapter 1 because of the new task given to us, which is the creation of Chapters 4 and 5. This week is the project update.
This week we cannot continue with chapter 1 because we have to prioritize chapters 4 and 5. Unlike chapters 4 and 5, the instructor has not set a deadline for revising Chapter 1 yet. But we need to finish 4 and 5 immediately because the mock defense is approaching and we need to be ready for that day. As mentioned last week, chapters 4 and 5 are very long. It took us a while to do chapters 4 and 5 because there were so many diagrams to make. However, whenever we have free time, we continue to work on it so that somehow our project makes progress. When we were working on Chapter 4, we talked about how many participants we would place and also where the testing would be done. As a whole, chapter 4 is about or contains the processes of creating the system and the process of doing testing, since chapter 4 is methodology. It also took a few days before Chapter 4 was finished. Right now, we are still working on Chapter 5. We are hoping to finish Chapter 5 so we can continue revising Chapter 1. That's all for now. Week 8: the updates of the chapters iHola! Good day, everyone! Last week in our blog, we mentioned that we had started revising Chapter 1. During our free time, we continued with the revision. Here's an update for this week. A few days after our last blog update, we met with the instructor to discuss what to include in Chapters 4 and 5. In Chapter 4, we will cover the methodology, design plan, and list of designs to be produced, such as use case diagrams, activity diagrams, functional decomposition diagrams, and context diagrams. Chapter 5 will primarily center on presenting results and discussions, encompassing preliminary findings as the system remains unfinished. We paused our work on Chapter 1 for a while. We called the client to ask if it was okay to conduct a follow-up interview and inquired about their availability. Upon receiving their confirmation and the interview date, we started getting ready by preparing a list of questions. We met with the client and delved into specific details we wanted to understand better. We asked about the history of their establishment, such as when it started and the reasons for its existence. We also inquired about their establishment's logo and requested permission to take a picture for use in our design, to which they agreed. After receiving their responses, we asked if we could return to present the design we would create. The manager of the establishment, whom we had interviewed, promptly agreed. Following the follow-up interview, we noticed there were additional pieces of information we could add to Chapter 1. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Week 7: Brainstorming with the team and revising iHola! Good day, everyone! This is the update on our project this week. Since we finished Chapters 1, 2, and 3, we talked, exchanged ideas, and looked for our copy that we wrote during the interview with the client. We put together the ideas we have, and we prepared them for the next chapter to be made. Even though the instructor hasn't given us a template or guide to put in and set a deadline for submission, we prepared it so that we don't have too much trouble. Last week we finished Chapters 2 and 3, and after a few days, the instructor returned the papers we passed, Chapter 1, with corrections. We looked at it immediately. There are quite a lot of corrections, but we are glad because for us, when there are not many corrections, it seems that the instructor is not interested in our papers. We read the instructor's comments and suggestions one by one. Then we talked and decided to revise the papers in Chapter 1. We have started revising Chapter 1. There are many things that need to be changed, deleted, or added. Among the things that need to be added are the sources and citations. There are sources, but the others are not included. One of the additions is the project title, from Hotel Management System to Hotel Management System and Customer Relationship Management System. We are still revising Chapter 1, so we can have our papers checked again by our instructor. In case there are corrections needed, we still have time to revise. That's all for now. Week 6: Making the Chapter 3 Hola! Good day, everyone! This week, this is an update on the status of our project. We continued our second chapter since we didn't finish it last week. We also had a hard time finding something to put in the RRS (Review Related System). After a few days this week of searching, we finished the RRS. And we immediately made a summary for Chapter 2.
And in order not to waste time, we continued to make Chapter 3. When we saw that Chapter 3 was going to be done, there was quite a lot to do, so we started right away. During our discussion, we thought, searched, and talked about what concepts and theories support the possibility of developing the software.
Also included in our discussion are the tech tools that will be used for design, the tech tools that will be used for development, and the software test tools. After the discussion, we started putting information in Microsoft Word. When we had free time after classes, we did it little by little. It also took a few days before we finished Chapter 3.
This week we finished chapter 2 and chapter 3. We are happy because somehow the project we are working on is making progress despite the challenges. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

Week 5: Making the Chapter 2
iHola! Good day, everyone! Since we finished Chapter 1 last week, we waited for free time to start on the next one. For this week's blog, we have started working on Chapter 2.
We started by doing RRL (review-related literature). We searched for articles, journals, research papers, and books connected to our topic. We searched, and we got sources to put in the RRL we are doing.
Next, we searched for RRS (Review Related System). We found it easy, so we were happy. But when we looked at the date when it was published, it was 2012. We also searched; it took a long time before we found it again, but it was published in 2003.
In many instances of searching, we did not find anything that we could put in the RRS that we do.   When it comes to the summary, we can't do it because we haven't finished the upper part, which is the RRS. Almost all of our searches are below 2018, so we cannot put them in RRS because that is the advice of our instructor.
The others we saw were not related to our topic. Until now, we are still continuing the search so that we can finish the RRS part and make a summary. And we can proceed to the next chapter. We didn't do much this week, but this week really tested our patience. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

Week 4: Formal Interview with the client
iHola! Good day, everyone! In continuation of last week's blog, we called the establishment again, but unfortunately, we were not able to conduct a formal interview with the client. So we thought of options that we could do.
That includes changing the topic or title and changing the client.   What we have decided is to change the client. So we immediately looked for another establishment to be our new client. We did see it, and it was the Wood Land Suites.
We walked in and introduced ourselves, asking if we could ask a few questions. And then we asked if we could conduct a formal interview, and the person at the front desk said yes. So immediately, we looked for a vacant time so we could conduct a formal interview.  
The questions we asked were the following: What happens each day in your hotel, from when a guest arrives to when they leave? What computer programs or apps do you use for managing hotel bookings, bills, and guest accounts? How do you deal with bookings, giving rooms to guests, and taking orders for room service? Are there any difficulties in these processes? How do you handle staff scheduling and employee management, and are there any challenges in this area? and many more.
After we got the information we needed, we thanked them, then asked if we could come back if there was ever any information we didn't get or if we wanted to clarify something. The one we talked to, who has a big position in the establishment, agreed. Since we only did a little in Chapter 1 last week, we continued doing it.
There have been changes when it comes to issues and problems since we changed clients. So far, we have finished Chapter 1, and we are just waiting for the instructor's corrections so we can edit the parts that are wrong. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

Week 3: Planning for formal Interview with the client
iHola! Good day, everyone! This is our update this week. We called the cellphone number provided by M'Ashley Suites and spoke to their manager. We asked if we could conduct a formal interview with the owner of the establishment.
The manager told us that the owner was not available because he went to Davao. We asked when he would be back, but he said he didn't know. So, we asked if we could call when the owner arrives and is available. It was good, and he agreed. Since this project is connected to another subject of ours and we also have a deadline to follow, we decided to send a letter to them.
We wrote a letter whose content was to ask for permission to conduct a formal interview. We went to the prospect client's establishment because we delivered a letter. We waited for a reply or a call from them, but so far they have not replied or called. In order not to waste our free time, we decided to start working on Chapter 1. Because of the interview this interview is informal but we manage to get small info to start that we had with the manager of the establishment last week, we were able to start working on Chapter 1 of the papers.
Even though the interview was short and informal, we got information about their establishment. We have created a background on the project that contains what the project is about and how we decided on it.
And we also created a context for the project. So far, that is all we have done, but we are hoping that we can receive a response from our prospect client so that we can get more information and prepare the papers. That's all for now. Thank you, take care, and God bless!

Week 2: Visiting Establishments For Potential Capstone Project
This is our next update on our project. iHola! Good day, everyone.Last week we talked about which establishment we would make a prospect client of, so this week we went to the back of Adventist Medical Center in Iligan because that is where the establishment we will make a prospect client of is located, whose name is "Alming". We entered, introduced ourselves, asked if we could ask questions, and asked a few questions because she agreed. Our questions are: "What is the nature of your business?", "Do you accept bookings or reservations?", "What do you use to operate your business?", "Do you use a system?". She answered some of our questions, but for our last question, she told us to ask at their head office. So we went to the said place, but before we left, we thanked her first.
When we arrived in Poblacion, Iligan City, we looked for the Flor Chuchu, and we entered. As we did in Alming, we introduced ourselves, asked if we could ask questions, and asked a few questions because she also agreed. We said that we went to Alming, and we were told to go to their building and there to ask for other details of their establishment. But the woman at the counter said that the assigned person is busy because he manages six buildings and rarely has free time.
We asked what buildings he was holding so that we would not go to them again in our search. We have used Google to find out where else we can go. We went to Woodland; we did the same as the two we went to; the counter said their manager was available at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m., so we just asked for a number. We searched again and went to M'Ashley Suites. We entered, introduced ourselves, asked if we could ask questions, and asked a few questions because they agreed. There, we talked to their manager, Ms. Anna Mae Bonocan.
We asked the same question to Alming, and we found out the nature of their business, the process, the time they operate, and what they use for booking/reservation, registration, and updating to a bigger position. We also learned that they also cater events like wedding receptions, debuts, trainings and seminars, and many more. As in paragraph 3, the M'Ashley Suites operates 24/7.
The establishment uses Microsoft Word for passing updates to the larger position or the owner. Email and phone calls are their way to receive bookings or reservations. So far, that's all we've done, but we've also planned the next step we'll take, one of which is to return to our prospect client. That's all. Que Dios os bendiga!

Week 1: Discussion of Potential Capstone Project Titles iHola! Good day, everyone! We are the Geek Squad group. These are the roles of each proponent; for the hacker role, Christoper V. Baisac is assigned, for the hipster role, Juvin Pelimer is assigned, and for the hustler role, Sevinee Mae A. Clenuar is assigned.
We met at the DIT building, we were about to start discussing our project, but there were many people and it was quite noisy. So we first looked for a place where we could have a good conversation. So, we decided to go to TSAC, which is located on the MSUN campus, also because we saw that there were not many people there, so we could talk and understand each other well because it was quiet there. But before we left the DIT building, we asked our acquaintance to help us take pictures for documentation.
During our meeting, we talked about our respective roles in the project. Also, we talked about how, as early as now, we will think of possible questions to ask our prospective client. We also talked about how the questions that we will prepare should not offend our prospective client. And during the interview, we should look like students, wear decent clothes, and bring ID.
During the discussion, each of us gave ideas on what are the possible topics that we will tackle for the project on the subject of Requirements Engineering and possible clients. We have decided on the topic we will work on and what company or establishment our prospect client is. We also decided on the title of our project. One of the things we consider is the location of the prospect client because our budget is not that big, and every week we will visit or interview the prospect client. We also set a time and date for the first meeting and interview with the prospect client.
We also talked about being active in the group chat we made for more updates. Also as much as possible always present at meetings and time for interviews. And if there is an emergency, it should be said, reasonable and the instructor should know and approve that he/she is not present during meetings and interviews. We also took video for documentation that TSAC was the location. Last but not the least, we also talked about how we hope to enjoy the journey of making the project.
