EXTREMELY CHEAP EXTREMELY LIGHT LARGE HORN TUTORIAL (WITH PICTURES)
Holy heckie, ladies, gents, agender friends do I HAVE SOME GREAT ASS NEWS FOR YOU IF YA WANNA MAKE YA SOME BIG ASS HORNS
(this isnt a great tutorial but I am at least trying to help a little here, even if it is just the idea.)
yes I have learnt a craft today and some of you probably already know this, but ya know what I am gonna share it anyways because I know SO many who need it.
First thing off
What do you need and how much is it gonna cost? That is the big part for some of us I know it is for me.(Also I get all of my stuff from Michaels and double checked their site for prices to be sure)
What you are going to need is:
Two white, foam (NOT DRY FOAM that breaks too easy) bricks from Michaels (About 3.99$ each) (You may or may not need the board/larger bricks for these depending upon your horn size/shape)
2-3 packs of Model Magic (4.99 each here)
A bread knife
A meat knife
a sharpie
Anyways I named the prices for the stuff that I bought the rest was just stuff I had at home. I know this doesn’t look like a lot but I promise it is how I made my now amazing tavros horns.
OKAY!
First take your Sharpie and block of foam and sketch out whatever shape you want.
Then take the block and with the meet knife (not the bread knife shown above. Cut out the larger chunks of foam AROUND THE OUTLINE NOT ON THE OUTLINE NOT YET.
Yes good see you can do it.
Now with the bread knife, I want you to take it and start slowly carving (FOLLOWING THE OUTLINE YOU MADE) the basic shape of the horn. Go for the longer parts first, use the smaller meat knife for the curves like you are carving an apple.Dont be afraid to get a little rough with this it shit it is pretty durable.
AMAZING YES I AM GOING TO WALK YOU THROUGH THIS ENTIRE PROCESS
Next cut off the other slightly bigger but not as big pieces of foam.
go ahead and carve out the rest of that too.
Look it isnt too hard, you are doing great!!
Next I want you to turn the Horn til you are looking at the top! And on there I want you to draw how the horn is suppose to be shaped from the sides of it.
Don’t worry about where you have your curves or anything, because this stuff is so durable, it with withstand you carving at it in the smaller thinner spots and NOT snap!!!!
Then carve that beautiful bahama momma
I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING “oH NO NO MORE LINES!” (Or butts maybe “ BUT WAIT TURN IT TO THE BASE OF THE HORN AND GRAB THE SHARPIE QUICK
WE GON DRAW SHAPES. Whatever shape your horn is, draw it on there and then slowly using the bread knife, start to shape it to that shape. Be slow. Take your time and don’t worry too much about bumps and dips.
LOOK HOLY HECKLES YOU GOT HORNS kinda. Not yet
Now is where we get the Model magic,ROLL THAT SHIT OUT ON YOUR TABLE, as flat and as thin as you can. (I used one pack of model magic per horn)
Then wrap your horns in it how ever you like, I preferred to cut off the pieces and wrap it to get the shape right, and for the little lines that you get when you do that, I have learnt that if you roll it in your hands, like you would if you were rolling a hotdog in between them it normally smooths them out.
NOW WAIT FOR IT TO DRY AND PAINT AND GLAZE TO YOUR HEARTS DESIRE.

So fucking easy holy fuck
Hello!! I have a question about your Cronus cosplay How did you attach your horns? I've been having so much trouble with my own ヽ(;▽;)ノ
Cry no more Kat, for I have the solution to your problem:
Behold! My lazy tutorial on how to attach troll horns!
So here we have our wig and our horns. Now, how to attach them? (Note: My horns are made of lightweight clay, so they weigh next to nothing. If you make your horns out of something heavier, this method might not work!)
Here is our secret weapon: paper binders! They’re basically these small little metal thingies that open up when bent. You can get these pretty much anywhere from hardware stores to crafts stores and they cost just a couple of euros.
You need about 4-5 per horn, depending on how many you can fit (remember to make sure each one has enough space to open). Just hot glue them on like I’ve done below:
Next step is to get a piece of thin cardboard (Note: it needs to be thick enough not to rip) and make holes for the paper binders’ “legs”. We’re going to use the cardboard a bit later, so don’t put it on the horn yet!
Now it’s time to attach the horns! Put the wig on a wig head and see where the horn looks good (Note: This works the best if the bottoms of your horns are modified to fit with your head’s curves. This prevents the horns from sticking out unnaturally).
When you’ve found the perfect spot, just stick it in! You need to push the paper binders’ legs through the wig cap like this:
Now just put the cardboard piece inside the wig and bend the paper binders:
Lastly put on the wig and see what it looks like. You might need to take the horns off a few times and try again, but I’m sure you’ll get it right eventually! In the end it should look something like this:
And there you go! If you have more questions or something was left unclear, don’t hesitate to ask! Hopefully this was useful :>
