Vesemir mumbled a few words to himself, downing his elixirs to help stay off the ache that was bound to set in his bones after this hunt. He understood Lambert's outlook; he was not much different as a young witcher.

Hardened but not yet weary -- that is where his own cocksure attitude had come from back then. Maybe, that was why he was often so hard on the boy - trying to be the firm hand that he himself could have used. But is that what Lambert needs? Over the past few decades, he had to wonder, since any time he told the boy one thing, he did another.

That line of thinking is what lead him to huff, shrugging his shoulders as he said gruffly." Aye, guess your right, boy. Gotta trust ya know what you are doing by now."  Sure, he said that, but it did not mean he was not eyeing the dark veins that now appeared on the younger man's face warily.
