But physical tcgs (cause digital tcgs often lack that secondary market) having secondary markets means that gambling with card packs is at least optional for a lot of people

I will say as a magic player that there is a difference which is that every self respecting tcg player who has been playing for a decent amount of time buys singles and leaves pack openings to games of draft or sealed. Gacha games (to my understanding) just don't have such a system of second hand markets.
