~ ABOUT !!

ANYWAYS. You know the drill. Gravity Falls AU. BUT!! This time, it’s also based off of OMORI, another one of my hyperfixations.

To give a quick summary, Headspace is actually one big combined weirdness bubble that’s meant to keep Dipper and Mabel inside in this false reality filled with their family and friends.

When Bill won, one of the first things he did was kidnap Ford and Dipper(he was there for leverage. And because I can’t go five seconds without traumatising this poor child). He proceeded to torture Ford to get him to tell him the weirdness equation, and nearly starved Dipper to death. While Bill was torturing Ford, he seemingly went too far, and Ford was beyond repair, bleeding out on the floor. Dipper was forced to witness his Grunkle’s death, and Ford, thinking he’ll die, whispers the equation to Dipper, playing RIGHT into Bill’s hands. Everything goes black and white, Bill offers to revive Ford and fix things so Dipper can live with his sister if Dipper gives him the equation. Dipper, thinking his idol just fucking died in front of him, complies, and gets stuck in a bubble as well, then has his bubble merged with Mabel’s, resulting in Headspace.

Funny thing about Headspace. For all its cleverly built mechanisms, it was not designed to keep more than one person trapped. It only lasts for about 3-4 years before starting to break- And Mabel, who has no idea that the apocalypse is happening, since this place has wiped her memories of that fact and she’s been in the bubble almost this whole time, starts to realise something… Isn’t right. Something draws her to the Truth, and every time she reaches it, she’s sent to Blackspace (a place full of the twins’ combined insecurities and fears underneath Headspace) due to Dipper being deathly afraid of her finding out what he did- He still remembers (in a way), but she doesn’t. He blames himself for letting her get in danger in the first place and doesn’t want her to be hurt again- If she figures it out, she’ll leave, and Dipper knows she’ll get hurt out there. Soooo it kind of ends up in a perpetual cycle of Mabel almost finding out, Dipper sending her to Blackspace and ‘killing’ her (Their real bodies are hidden deep in the bubble somewhere, they actually pilot vessels sustained by the bubble) to reset Headspace so she and him are sent back to the beginning so she forgets.

Luckily, we have a third party here!! Stranger. He’s.. A shadowy version of Ford, basically. He also knows the Truth, but he knows more about it than Dipper does, or at least, he’s supposed to. He’s the one guiding Mabel to clues about what’s really going on, and he helps her navigate Blackspace and avoid Dipper too!

That’s kinda it for now. Don’t worry, they have a happy ending !!! I mean, it’s inevitable, considering Headspace is falling apart.
