"henry winter is a psychopath, he never liked bunny, he manipulated camilla, he tried to scapegoat richard" is easy to say because the other option is that henry actually cared about everyone and he really just wanted the best for the group — even choosing suicide to get charles out of trouble — and that characterization hurts infinitely more

more than five hours into the secret history audiobook and wow. never fully grasped just how talkative and fucking obnoxious bunny was until i realized donna had been speaking in bunny's voice for more than 5 mins in just this one part

it's so cold today that i feel like i'm unintentionally cosplaying richard papen with pneumonia and chronic hypothermia

Can't stop thinking about how chaotic everything must have been immediately after Henry's suicide. Henry dropping on the floor with a thud. Camilla breaking down screaming, leaning in on instinct to try and do something about it, Henry's words to her echoing in her head. Francis getting physically ill right away from the shock and at the sight of the blood slowly spreading on the carpet, crying and gagging in a corner. Charles, dazed, silently staring at Henry's body laying there, trying to make sense of it, realizing it was partly his fault. Richard just helplessly watching the whole scene, bleeding out on the chair, astounded and dizzy as he tries to hold onto his consciousness, only to pass out a few moments later with the image of Henry's last moments alive imprinted in his mind forever.

Camilla really just offhandedly said "Oh, yeah, the only reason we don't slaughter an animal and drench our clothes in its blood to wash ourselves of the sin of murdering our close friend is because, like, Henry thinks you might be freaked out by that. I don't know why, the rest of us were all down, but I guess you're just sensitive like that, huh, Richard? Oh, look, here's my drunk brother here to be weird and jealous." AND RICHARD STILL THINKS THIS GIRL IS SO SWEET AND GENTLE? MY GOD.
