you know as much as I do joke that I love yennefer because she's mean I also do love that on the show she is not a cold-hearted, unfeeling, uncompassionate, controlling, stoic, all-powerful strong female character stereotype. She cries! Big snotty tears! And not just before life hardens her either. And isn't framed as any weaker for her emotion. She has moments of tenderness. Softness. Insecurity. The prickly, hard, sharpness is mostly something that she projects to protect herself and in time, those she cares about. She is still in many ways the crooked girl holding out a flower.

“What’s not great about Kal? He’s my best buddy, he’s stubborn. He drags a lot of attention away from me which is excellent. He always has the unconditional love as soon as you walk in the door.”
Henry Cavill for Men’s Journal (2018)
