a while back i saw a picture @mllekurtz took in the gardens of Villa Taranto and really wanted to do a little study of it. then inserting everyone's favorite wizards into the potential picture was suggested, so naturally i no longer had any other choice but to go through with it. it truly looked like a dreamy garden somewhere in Exandria and the wizards fit in too well 🤌

While the concept of gender has been used to oppress women, its definition and characteristics have changed in the past and are different in different places, so they can change now. As an agender person myself I think abolishing gender would be great because we wouldn't have to deal with this load of bullshit, but as a person who lives with people who experience gender as something internal and important to their lives (not only trans people, there's cis people who have a strong connection to being a woman/man and would experience dysphoria if their sex was swapped) I respect that it is something that matters beyond roles or sexual characteristics. So I defend gender equality not based on eliminating the concept of man and women but instead based on currently making laws that favour disrupting the male dominance of society until someone's sex or gender is irrelevant (of course, taking into account anatomical differences between people like childbirth). In a world in which there is no functional difference between men and women it wouldn't matter who identifies as what either, and trans people can live their lives in peace.

I would also like to ask how terfs would abolish gender while having an intense hatred for people with a penis. Would you stop feeling that way towards them? I don't know if it's your case but I've seen terfs who think they're subhuman just for the body they were born into. Would you instaurate "sex roles" instead of gender roles to keep males separate?

The worst part of an absurd conversation based on offending others on the Internet is that people don't usually go back to being civil when an interesting topic of discussion arises. I'd love to argue about the limits the justice system should or should not have regarding punishing rapists as well as how they're completely insane for jailing women who killed their rapists, which we agree on. I'm sure we have more in common regarding feminism than we both think and we could get much more done if in my country there wasn't a separate women's rights demonstration for the ones that don't believe in trans people for example. I truly don't understand why terfs can't just let a small minority of people live in peace while arguing for the rights of the majority. I miss the times when gender neutral restrooms and mixed sports were things feminism in general argued for instead of playing "what criteria do we use to segregate everything the Proper Way".

Edit 1: I think people should not go to jail for killing their rapists because it's self defense, in case you come from that thread. I also think we should not go around killing rapists as law (or any other criminal for that matter) because I believe in a reformist prison system

Honestly it's fascinating that a conversation like this can come from bad faith interpretations of people's words. There's probably a social commentary here somewhere. I did a bad faith interpretation of her words implying that she thinks rapists should get institutionally murdered and she did a bad faith interpretation of my words as me thinking rape is ok. Divide and conquer as they say.

Lmao antifeminist you say. I've been going to protests for women's rights since I was able to. I think women have the right to self defense including killing the attacker and I would definitely seek to kill someone if they raped me. However you're advocating for systematically killing rapists, which is not something I will ever get behind
