“Yes, it’s my day off so I decided to get some sun, I’ve missed it,” she said with a smile, raising her arm up to bask in the sunlight. “What restaurant do you work at?”

Irina sat up, “well if you bring puppies, I do not mind at all,” she said with a grin. “Can I stroke them?”

Irina chuckled a little in reply to her joke and watched her sit down. “Nice to meet you, I’m Irina,” she offered her hand for leo to shake. “So, what’re you drawing today?”

The fact that people had the nerve to leave their dogs inside the vet clinic over the night and not check for ticks and fleas, didn’t they know it could easily attach to the other pets around them? Use the wrong brush or have them roll around on the same bed once and suddenly half the dogs in town would be faced with the same problem. “At least get a flea collar, idiots”, Winston couldn’t help but angrily mutter to himself before turning his attention back at the younger dog (named Fitz) getting a throughout bath right outside the clinic itself. Not a lot of people used to pass through on the road close by and the sun was shining on both bright and strong, making him squint a bit. Winston’s fingers pulled off his glasses, as they were now covered by water stains and to no use whatsoever to help him see, while his eyes traced away to the towel he had placed – 

His shoulders sank in an instant, realising he had put the towel on the bench outside the entrance. God job, he thought and smacked himself on his forehead. “Stay”, he told the dog with a sharp tone. Fitz only wagged his wet tail at him, staring with his own bright black eyes while tilting his head slowly at the fae. Winston forced himself off the ground and did his best to hurry away to the bench only a few steps away – but oh if that sneaky fur covered thing wasn’t faster, spotting the sight of another being walking down the street Winston had thought was empty. Not before long a shout was heard, as Fitz had just shared his bath water with the passerby and looked everything but ashamed of his deed. “Shit, sorry – Fitz, come here!” Winston tried to call back the dog while he moved over to the person with the towel in hand. Hopefully they weren’t scared of dogs. 

Irina was walking along the street before a dog came bounding over to her. She bent down to greet it but it knocked her over with an “oof,” and covered her with kisses. She soon realised that the dog was wet and immediately regretted her decision. “Hey doggy! I love the enthusiasm but I wish you weren’t wet,” she said in a baby voice. “Guess I’ll just have to deal with it, huh?” she asked, scratching behind the dogs ear. She tried to get up but to no avail, luckily she heard a voice shout for the dog and a man appeared with a towel. “A little help please, he’s heavier than he looks.”

“Oh, I don’t think you have to worry about that,” Kimball chuckled. “I only paint the truth, and I can’t imagine seeing a single ugly cell on or in you.” Her smile faltered as she realized how what she’d said might be construed. It’s only weird if you make it weird, she thought to herself, shaking it off.

“Kimball Greene. It’s nice to meet another friendly face. Are you from Bridgeport?”

Irina’s eyebrows furrowed, “weird way to put it but thank you, I think?” she laughed it off. “Nice to meet you too Kimball,” she smilled. “Moved here about a month ago, what about you?”

“It was a very huge spider” he said defensively, he wasn’t stalking the girl or something, but he didn’t like confrontation, Tama saw the spider from distance it was huge and red “i saw movement from the tree and followed it to your face, tried to tell you something but it was getting to close to my taste” he tried to look out for it with little success.

“Well then thank you again for stopping my face from being trodden on, I appreciate it,” Irina replied before going back to relaxing.

Tama saw a spider close to the girls face and was gonna just take it out but he managed to block the light “sorry, there is…” he said grabbing the spider with his hand and putting it far away “…was a spider almost in your face” he told her in an almost whisper. 

“Oh, thanks, things always manage to get in my hair,” she replied with a smile before lying back down for a few seconds before quickly sitting up again. “What were you doing so close to me that you could see a spider on my face?”

“Sorry.” Kimball flushed, though she wasn’t exactly embarrassed. She’d gotten so caught up in setting up her scene that she hadn’t realized she wasn’t alone. She motioned to her sketch book and held up a set of pencils. “I was feeling inspired. I didn’t see you there.” She paused, realizing as she basked in the girl’s aura, that it was her she was drawn to, who had a story to be told. Glancing between the blank paper and the young woman, she asked, “Do you mind if I sketch you?”

Irina felt some energy from this girl that elicited a feeling in her, now she just had to figure out if it was because she liked her or she just found another witch. Putting her hand to her chest said replied, “I’m flattered, thank you. As long as you make me look good and credit me as your muse then I don’t mind,” she said with a half shrugged and smiled. “I’m Irina,” she held out her hand for the girl to shake.

Looking down, she offered the woman an apologetic smile. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t even notice you. I look like I need help, don’t I? Crap. Sorry I bothered you, I was merely looking for a good place where I could sit down.”

Irina smiled back at the woman, “as long as you’re not blocking the lovely sun that’s been hiding for so long it’s okay. You can sit here if you like, I think I have a picturesque view,” she replied noticing the sketchbook.
