3 days until ‘Reynolds Station’ release! Having Michael Gutierrez play saxophone on the record kinda happened by fate. We were doing a session and couldn’t quite tell what we were missing for a couple songs. Michael had left some reeds at the studio from a previous session and came by to pick them up. I was blessed to get to have one of my dearest friends, @cynthiasingadamnsong7 , do some background vocals on a few songs, and it wasn’t even suppose to happen. We had planned to have a pair of girls come in and do choir style vocals on a couple songs. The day we scheduled, the girls called and said they had gotten the hell beat out of them in a bar fight the night before (I can’t make this up lol) and couldn’t make it. They asked me if I knew anyone that might be able to do it on the spot and I immediately thought of Cynthia of course. I called her and was gonna try to convince her to literally go get in her car and drive to Nashville right now. Luck was on my side. She was actually sitting in a studio anyways recording some of her own material! With technology being what it is, I sent her the material and she did it on the spot and knocked it out of the park. 9 days until ‘Reynolds Station’ release! @shannon_freakin_lawson produced ‘Reynolds Station’. Shannon Lawson is a recording artist, hit songwriter, and producer and honestly one of the best male singers I’ve ever met. I met Shannon while visiting his studio with my friends Brasher/Bogue. They were recording a song for my friend Bob Bradley’s cancer foundation ‘Strong As Jamie’ and Shannon had offered up his studio. Not long after that I was introduced to a music project that Shannon was in the middle of working on in a group called ‘El Camino’ and was blown away with the sonics of the record and the arrangement. I got ahold of Shannon and told him about a concept album I had been wanting to do and asked him who had produced the ‘El Camino’ record and he said that he did. When he said he was interested in working on my album I was so excited. Shannon took my project to heart and made this record everything it is. He rounded up all the incredible musicians that are on it, produced it, and even played and sang on it. I recorded this record over the course of 3 years because it was the only way I could afford to make it was to pay as I went and do sessions when I could. Life changed a lot for both of us in those 3 long years. The time we spent together working on this will stay with me always. I’ll never forget standing outside the studio after a whole day of recording, and everybody had left, and we spent another 2 hours talking about life together.
