All to make sure no chemical enters or touches your baby’s sensitive skin and triggers health issues.
There is one more way you can help protect your baby from absorbing harmful chemicals. And that is by using organic baby clothing. Keen to know how and why? Read on!

It is not only buttery soft and smooth but also adapts to the weather condition and keeps your baby cool during summer and warm during winter. So, whether you are going on an island vacation or holiday snuggling, you know organic cotton is your best choice😊
One less thing for mama’s to worry about!

Kinder to our mama earth and farmers!
Like both of us, other mother’s also want to provide eco-friendly solutions to their family so that their baby’s can have a better planet. By using organic clothing we can be assured that we are putting less pressure on the planet and the farmers as they are not exposed to the harmful chemicals. Introducing the idea of organic clothing at an early age is like upbringing sustainable superheroes.
Kashaya - Choosing nothing but best for your baby!
Babies take in a lot more of the chemicals and toxins in anything as their skin is more absorbent– especially if they’re covered in it all day. That’s why not only the fiber that touches their skin should be organic but also the dyes should be chemical free. At Kashaya, we offer the best organic baby clothing by replacing the toxic chemical dyes with the goodness of Ayurvedic herbs. This is especially good news for children with eczema.

Blending ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with natural dye
Blending ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with clothing
Contrary to the belief that Ayurvedic herbal dyeing is some newfound process, it was in fact a common practice in ancient India. The herbal dyed clothing known as Ayurvastra meaning healing cloths is used more for health than for fashion purposes. Our fabric is dyed according to the wisdom of Ayurveda at a small dye-house using Ayurvedic herbal dyes that are rich in medicinal properties.
Ayurvedic Herbal Dyeing Process
The process of Ayurvedic dyeing needs a deep connection with mother nature as it is completely free from synthetic chemicals & toxic irritants. It is an ancient art of infusing blends of herbs into clothing in such a way that along with the colours, the fabric also holds the goodness of these herbs. It takes around 30 days for the fabric to get ready for stitching as dyeing is completely done by hand.
The fabric
The first step is to procure organic cotton as the only natural fabric that can absorb the goodness of Ayurvedic herbs.
Mordanting
After naturally bleaching fabric in an Aloe Vera solution, it is dipped in natural gums mordants such as the Haritaki, bark of Lodhra, and Kenduka so that they can absorb and hold on to the colour, and medicinal properties of these herbs.
Preparing Ayurvedic Dye
Our therapeutic Ayurvedic herbal dyes are prepared using 20+ mindfully selected herbs, plants, flowers, roots, and barks. Using the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, we carefully extract natural colors from these herbs by preparing a 100% vegan broth known as Kaṣhāya (the inspiration behind our name). Each color produced (peach in our madder clothes), is due to the Kaṣhāya containing one dominant plant/herb.
                                                The Dyeing
The Kaṣhāya is filtered before infusing fabric into it. Fabric is infused not only with natural colour but also with the therapeutic properties of this 100% vegan Kaṣhāya for 6 hours at a controlled temperature. Once the fabric has been dyed, it is washed to remove any loose particles and dried naturally in the shade. It is then softened with the natural ingredients such as coconut oil.
The finishing
Pure water is sprinkled on the Unisex Baby Clothes and stretched using a hand roll. The dyed fabrics are allowed to season for a minimum of 2 weeks in a dark room before they are ready for tailoring.
                                                The recycling
The dye water waste is used to nourish the land and the Kaṣhāya waste is a natural fertilizer for the surrounding plants.
How is Ayurvedic dyeing different from natural dyeing?
There are quite a few brands that use natural dyeing processes to avoid including potentially harmful synthetic chemicals such as carcinogens, parabens, PVCs and in their products. Often, natural dyes are extracted from tree barks, flowers, and other plant parts, but most often, these are chosen for their aesthetic qualities and may not contain any healing properties.
Ayurvedic dyeing is the next step, where only plants and herbs that contain healing properties are used. The following herbs feature prominently in Ayurvastra, each with its own benefits:
Turmeric
Sappan wood
Harda
Tulsi
Madder root
Neem
Indigo
Our bodies are not exposed only to the toxins in food and air, but also to the synthetics and chemicals layered on our clothes.

Ayurvedic Dyed Organic Baby Clothes Ayurvastra for Baby | The Kashaya
The benefits of Ayurvedic herbs for baby
A baby’s skin is thinner, more porous, and absorbent than an adult's. That’s why not only should the natural fiber they wear be 100% organic, Baby Clothes Online , but the dye should also not contain any chemicals. Kaṣhāya offers a better alternative by replacing chemical dyes with the goodness of Ayurvedic herbs in the baby's organic clothing. that gets absorbed through the skin and promotes well-being!
Below are a few herbs that we regularly use in our Ayurvedic Herbal dyes and organic baby clothes:
Red Sandalwood Red Sandalwood is used in Ayurvedic medicine as an antiseptic, skin conditioner, wound-healing agent, and as an anti-acne treatment.   Indigo
In Ayurveda, Neelini Herb or Indigo herb is used mainly as an antidote or as an anti-venom. Neelini is the primary ingredient in providing the blue hue. In ancient India, newborns were swaddled Indigo-dyed cloths to keep the mosquitoes away from the baby.   Turmeric Turmeric is a natural antibiotic and boosts immunity. Fabric dyed with turmeric helps to heal and soften the skin as it is considered as the tonic for the skin. Yellow hues are obtained from Turmeric.   Pomegranate: The skin of the pomegranate is rich in Vitamin C and is a natural sun-blocking agent. Moreover, it moistens the skin.   Vetiver The soothing and cooling nature of Vetiver pacifies inflammation and aids a good night's sleep.   Neem Neem is prized for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and insect repellent properties. Every part of this magical plant has been used to create the soft buttery brown shade of our Neem dye.   Madder Madder helps to cure skin allergies, soothes the skin, and is anti-bacterial. This wonderful herb also keeps skin problems away.   Wild Tulsi / Holy Basil Holy Basil, Queen of Herbs, is rich in antioxidants and other nutrients. Tulsi is a known antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral which makes it effective in fighting infections.   Aloe Vera Aloe vera helps to heal wounds, relieve itching and swelling, and is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is one of the key ingredients that we use as part of our natural bleaching process, producing an off-white hue on our yarns.

We certainly don’t think that wearing our clothing will change your baby’s life or cure diseases. But surely there is some health benefit to be found in exchanging toxins for medicinal plants.
