She knew her uncle was right about this, he'd never steered her wrong since she was old enough to come to him about things. Casper looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole when she freaked out in front of him. "I was trying to be nice when talking bout my parents. Dad is like..so head over heels for mom it's kind of annoying - wasn't when I was a kid but now I just openly cringe." When he started talking marriage and kids, her eyes widened and she laughed nervously, shaking her head. "Mmm, yeah I don't see marriage or kids anytime soon, if ever. I'm not someone that like, deal with small crying children. Trial run, yeah, okay glad you agree with that. I guess I'll call him in a couple of days and talk to him about it - let him sweat a bit for his falter."

Coming to her uncle instead of her parents was absolutely the right move. He was the only one that would be able to give her actual help instead of being, well, a parent about this. "Maybe he didn't realize it either. Like, this wasn't something he was thinking about and just dropped on you without warning. He's probably taken off-guard too, you know what I'm saying?" Theo was just trying to remain a completely neutral party, offering different perspectives to his niece. "That's a nice way of saying that they're cringe as fuck," he commented with a snort. "There doesn't necessarily have to be anything that comes next. If you want more, cool. But there's no rulebook here, Theo. You could get married and have kids. Or go for marriage sans kids. Or say fuck marriage and just be together. Whatever feels right to you, both as a person and in your partnership. It's true that this could very well be the thing that breaks you up. It's also possible that it will make your relationship stronger. I think as a third party witness it's more likely to be the latter but there are no guarantees in life." He pauses to take another toke. "I think that's a good plan. A trial run. If it goes to shit you're always welcome here, you know that. What's mine is yours, kid."

She put in the effort for their relationship and he tried to do the same but he liked it here, helping his uncle and making sure he didn't go crazy out here. "You'd keep it from me? Damn, that's cold," he said, grinning before looking over the cows. "I think the bulls like the chase, you know? I feel she tries to make them compete somehow which is weird, because they're cows. To be a hoe, she'd have to let them have her and she hasn't let a single one near her. I think she'd make a great mom - you know she's the only one that's never had one?"

Juno would take Kris' word for it and not fight him. Clearly he didn't mind her lack of enthusiasm for his preferred environment. Neither one of them were shitty about it so there was no problem. "Awe, thanks, Kris. You know I try my best," she thanked with a gentle laugh. The compliment was greatly appreciated, especially coming from her partner. "Hm, I might be. It's not like I'd tell you if I was, it would ruin the fun." A wink followed by another laugh. "Sought-after? Bulls are vying for her attention? Is she being a little bit of a hoe?" Never did Juno expect she'd be gossiping about cows but this is where life's taken her. She couldn't be happier.

"I do, but eventually, you have to accept that even the great Wells needs some," she smiled and squeezed his arm, trying to give him some reassurance. "I've always worried about them, I just never say anything because it's pointless and I don't want them to know that I am. It doesn't matter if you don't look at them, they definitely look at you when you don't realize it. I'll try to remember that it's just work chemistry." Key note there, try.

"You know how much I despise asking for help. But you're right, I could just ask you. And next time I will." It was a promise Wells would try his best to keep, so long as he kept his ego in check (a very difficult task indeed). "You'd resort to shoe breaking? That's fucking hot... Since when do you worry about the ladies I work with? That's brand new information." His eyebrows shot up and he tried his best not to smile with delight. Tried and failed. "They're work, you know I don't look twice at any of them. That's why our chemistry on stage is so good. Focus on the work, hm? You'd know right away if I was involved with any of them since the chemistry would be nonexistent."

"Well, I had little figurines of him, so no I'm not messing with you," she smiled. Yeah, he was right, she did tend to like the unpopular characters. She was going to leave it at that though, grinning. "Oh, yeah you're lucky indeed, people just kept asking and I kept waiting for the right one to ask the question. Your brother wasn't the only reason, but he did give me the nudge in your direction and talked you up - and I knew what he was saying was true and not just lies to get me interested. You didn't need the help though, you sold yourself."

"You're fucking with me, right? No one liked that little dog, otherwise he would have been a mainstay. Though I guess it's on brand for you to appreciate the unpopular thing." He glanced at her with a curious expression. "That many people, huh? I didn't realize I had so much competition... Glad I acted before anyone else got you." Xander laughed at the memory of how things really started for them. "Yeah yeah, in hindsight my roommate did me a solid, no matter how awkward it was in the moment. I'm more than happy with how things turned out. As for my brother, no way I'm thanking him. His head is big enough, the last thing I'm about to do is add to it. Besides, was he really the only reason you went for me? I have a hard time believing that."

"Let's face it, we're trauma-bound," he nodded, trying to joke but wasn't it the truth? They had both been through something that left deep scars, both mentally and physically but he wasn't sure what exactly happened with her. "I'm glad you like me nerdy, though, means I can talk about weird stuff that other people wouldn't understand and you won't look at me like I'm crazy."

there's more to people than the surface. some allow themselves to live freely and confidently and other's hide away. keep themselves at arms length to avoid being hurt. jonathan and her related a bit in that but she likes to think that being around with has helped her feel a bit more comfortable in her skin. allowing herself to embrace part of her she had kept hidden to please everyone else. "well in that case, go for it. i like the little erdy and awkwardness of you still. it's cute and makes you more personable than like a majority of the world." she chuckles softly. "well, yeah. there's a blocker for most sites these days if it's not educational to their standards."

She knew he was lying but she wasn't sure what the truth really was. Maybe he'd fess up at some point but for now she was just going to let it go. Maybe she could get her uncle to look into things for her. "Well then maybe you shouldn't have said anything," Lila pointed out, folding her arms over her chest. "I'm not really in the mood to be all romantic with you after I've been waiting for you to show up. I have a feeling that you're not going to give up until I agree to do something so...since you were the one that was late, you decide what we're doing."

Ryder couldn't tell if she was buying it or not. It was hard to decipher her expression. Maybe it worked and she was just angry with him. Or maybe she saw right through his bullshit. Only time would tell. "Yeah I don't plan on letting him tag along again. Fuck that nonsense," he agreed. "When I said I'd do anything, that was a lie. I'm not bringing you home, babe, not when we haven't spent any time together. Let's hash this out and make something of our night."

Ilya knew that the conversation wouldn't go well but he had to say it. He thought he was respecting Fenrir by doing that much. When he mentioned Veena, his brow furrowed before he spoke up. "I would never do that to her, I know how important fighting with you for other wolves is. You don't even have to worry about that."

Fenrir's eyes narrowed. He could not understand how another wolf would decline the opportunity to fight for rights for their kind, but he didn't want someone to join him whose heart was not in it. He shrugged his shoulders, "I have lost some respect for you, but I won't push the subject." He said simply, leaning back in his chair, keeping his gaze focused on the younger wolf. "Don't distract my Veena from her place in this."

"Now what kind of friend would I be if I did that?" Jaden asked, smirking slightly. He was the honest friend but he always tried to be gentle. Davina and Hayley would always be close but eventually Davina had to make choices and form her own path, make her own mistakes and to know that Hayley would always be there no matter what. Just like with his siblings. "So, she's like her mama, go figure that one. Even if you don't, she's pretty strong, I'm sure she'll be fine."

"or you could let me dwindle off to the unhinged parts of my brain. that seems like a fun thing." she chuckled, joking with him. she really doesn't mind that he hits her with logic a lot of the time. it keeps her mind from racing. focusing on plausible aspects. he's right though. davina is a grown woman and will make her own decisions. hayley doesn't need to protect her so much anymore. "she's been really testy lately though. moving around a lot more. giving me braxton hicks and everything. i hope she's a spring baby and i go full term though."

"If you ever just sat there and talked about your feelings I think I would be worried you were possessed," he laughed but he wasn't kidding. Talking about their feelings was not something they did all that often and when they did it was brief. Jaden appreciated the little bit of peace that August would offer and even more, the understanding. "Well, for a second I was considering asking for more but the small things count too. Movie or just ordering take out or something sounds like a good idea. Do we have enough money to order something?"

Their relationship made sense on every level. Together they shared things that few would understand, few had lived through. They offered each other support through the weird shit and respite from it when needed. August hadn't ever been happier, this was it for him no doubt. "Mhm, I surely do. What better way to prove it than with actions, right? I can sit here and talk about how much I love you but that wouldn't be comfy for either of us and doesn't really mean shit," he said with a shrug of his shoulders. "Glad you accept my offering. I was worried it wouldn't be enough. Since we're taking it easy, do you wanna just toss on a movie or something?"

They hoped that Oz really meant that he wouldn't push. It was just something that Jordyn tried to put behind them the best that they could. Going after anyone that caused them pain before just seemed pointless to want that. J just figured that they would get what's coming to them. "Oh believe me, I know you're not a patient person. You want what you want and don't like waiting. I was in line with you a couple times at Starbucks," they smiled faintly before nodding. "Uh, want to go to that game room and see how many high scores we can knock down?"

Oz nodded his head. "Fine, yeah, whatever you say, mate. Your word is god on this topic so I won't push." Did he like letting it go? Definitely not. But Jordyn's feelings, their comfort, mattered more than what Oz wanted. Especially with so much going on between them. Maybe, over time, Oz could gently try to get Jordyn interested in vengeance for those that wronged them. "Yeah, I can do patience. It's not exactly my strong suit but you're worth it. I'll wait as long as necessary - and keep picking you in the meantime. Is there something you wanna do right now? Maybe something completely different from all this serious talk? Get your mind off it?"

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, not every member of a family is close with everyone else. I was close with my adoptive father but I could never really connect with my mom? Maybe it's because I was adopted and there was some kind of disconnect but I'm fine with that, I know she loves me all the same." She nodded before smiling a bit. "I will gladly take whatever is given. Even if it's one centimeter from Sammy, it'll be something. Me? Oh um, I sing - not the best singer but I like doing it when no one else is around and I'm saving for a trip to Disneyland, I've always wanted to go since I was little so that's kind of like a bucket list thing for me."

"Exactly. I wish I could say that the whole group of us are close as fuck with a lot in common but that's just not always the case. Such is life." Olive used to get upset about her lack of closeness with her little sister but she's since made peace with it. Maybe one day things will be better. For now she's focused on her new family member anyway. "I can't imagine how that must feel, that missing piece... I really hope you get everything you want and need from Sammy, and from us." She offered another warm smile to Bennett and affectionately bumped her arm. "So, tell me more about you. What kind of things are you into?"

Aiyla had been worried her parents would toss her out the moment they found out that she wasn't going to be with a Muslim man but she was grateful that her parents had accepted Jasper, after some time of course but he was part of the family now and it felt great to be able to give him a piece of what a real mother and father figure were like. It took a lot for her father to call Jasper his son. "Mmm, sometimes I know I can be a little harsh, you can't deny that." She smiled and then shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, you know I have to ask because it's the polite thing to do, Jas."

Things would likely never heal with his own parents, Jasper made his peace with that. Moving forward with Aiyla, making their own family with Thea and Tyson, that mattered more than his own flesh and blood. Of course Aiyla's family was a lovely addition too, that Jasper cared deeply for. "Yeah, that's a nice way to look at it. Your perspective is always so good, babe." He smiled at her, unable to stop. "Are you kidding? Of course! You and Thea are always first, no exceptions. Who else would we show other than our best girls?"

Getting hurt had not been ideal and she was hating that it made him go into hyper protective mode but at the same time it was nice to have someone watch over her like that - she just wouldn't ever admit it. "I do have very big ideas to make sure everyone stays loyal to you. A party is just the beginning. I'm thinking a huge 'family' dinner once a week, celebrating birthdays and occasions," she started and then trailed off, grinning. "I'm going to need your credit card to get things for the party and I will take the man with me to protect me."

Darcy tended to agree with Sadie, it was much better to be able to get along with the people in one's company than to tolerate them, or less. He didn't consider what was happening to her to be babysitting but he knew she was stubborn, he just wanted to keep her safe, especially since she'd just gotten hurt. "Sure, the security can mingle." He said, laughing lightly, shaking his head. "You sure have all these ideas, don't you?" He asked, arching an eyebrow as she came closer to him. That grin did him in. "Of course... I would do anything for you and you know that, brat or not." He added with a wink.

"I am," Graciella confirmed before leaning into Juniper. It was strange to feel a kinship with someone on this level. Sure, she had friends but she would never be caught dead even embracing any of them like she was with Juniper right now. "You can, I can move things in the dresser and you can have a drawer for some stuff. I don't know, I think that's what couples do."

Juniper hadn't even thought about it, the words had just fallen from her lips. When Graci brought it up, her brow furrowed slightly, but she smiled, "Yeah, I guess I did call you that, didn't I? And it's true, isn't it? You are my girl." She smiled then, her arm coming up to sling around the other young woman's shoulders. They're comfortable like this, in each other's company, which is more than they can say about most people. "You're right, I should... maybe I'll leave some stuff here to make it easier?"

"I like to think that you're a good guy behind the sarcasm and such but, like you said, a drink to the face has happened." She grinned before finishing off her drink and looking over at him. "You have to amuse me, you're trying to win me over as more than a friend - which still hasn't worked - I just keep wondering if you're ever going to stop trying there Jassy."

"well, clearly my judgement is never wrong then." he chuckles. he's always been judgy, blunt and a bit dismissive. unless he cared about you. like he does his friends. like he does about nova. but he's definitely been wrong a few times and it usually ends with some embarrassing event happening -- like a drink to the face. "well, glad my humiliation amuses you so much, darling."
