“So you don’t even care that you’re going to die?!” He snaps, keeping himself away from her. Thankfully, he was vague enough to not specify just how soon that death was going to be. For all she must know, he is talking about a distant future.

“Your concept of future and mine are different. Vastly so. So we should live them separately.”

she bites her tongue, having been about to say ‘we all die’ but that wasn’t the best thing for the situation. In fact she’s not sure what to say (especially she was always the one to do the rejecting). 

“Live them separably? Is that truly how you feel, Nibyou?” she asks but doesn't need an answer. It’s what he is saying and even if she’s sure its not what he means she can’t keep pushing. 

“Then I suppose it all stops. everything.”

“Yeah, so what’s a few more months?” He mutters. Decide something like that after I’ve brought you to your deaths.

“Surely you know why we can’t be more. I don’t age. I don’t change. There can be no ‘growing old together’. Whatever fantasy you think we can have can never be.”

“I’m not blind Nibyou. I don;t fantasize romance in that way.” she tries to hold eye contact with him. “I don’t care about growing old, let’s just focus on here and now. So many of us focus too much on things out of our control.” she tries to go in for another kiss.

“Whatever happens in the future happens.”

He wants to tell her off. To tell her to get lost or to leave himself. But he can’t. Because she and the rest of the still have that damned treasure. He still has to stick around. He still has to bring them to the mountain. They still have to die.

But what is he going to do? He can’t keep being so cruel that she’ll leave him, but it feels just as bad to keep leading her on, pretending to care.

“Why don’t you wait a little while before deciding something like that.” Is all he manages to think of to say.

“Wait? We’ve been waiting and avoiding for months now Nibyou.” they were more then friends, that was clear. Clear to everyone in fact. She seems unphased by his attempt at distance or pushing her away, it was something she had gotten more then used too from him. 

“We are more then friends with benefits. I want to be more, and I think you do too we’re just avoiding it all because we are afraid.”

But why? Why couldn’t they keep dancing around this? That sounds like exactly what they should be doing. It’s what would be better for the both of them in the end. It’s why he’d dialed back his ‘pretending to care about you because you have a treasure’. It’s why he’d tried to be more cold.

But now she’s kissing him. So much for that plan.

“mmph…?”

She pulls away after the rather gentle and chaste kiss, running fingers through his short hair. 

“Nibyou. I can’t hide it any longer.” she looks over at the discarded flower “They love you, Nibyou.” Part of her knows this can;t end well, Nibyou made that clear in his actions. but she can’t help it. If she had to bear some burdens for him, she would.

“Hime…” He says under his breath, watching her take the mostly petal-less plant from him. What’s she doing here?

“I dunno. Flowers can be pretty wise.” He says to her eventually, sounding as flippant as he can manage. 

“sometimes yes. But we shouldn’t leave a matter like this to them when both of us are right here.” the flower is placed aside and instead she reaches out to take both of his hands into hers. 

“We can’t keep dancing around this.” After all, everyone talked about them like they already were a thing. Then without warning she leans in to kiss him.

A certain someone notices him off in the corner of camp and goes over, putting a hand on his as he’s about to pull the last petal off. Things had been a little awkward between them as of recently. It was clear some sort of tension was there, but neither of them seemed to address it. 

Iwashi looks at him, and pulls the flower from his grip. 

“A flower can;t know that, Kitty boy.” it was time to talk it out, she decided. 

Sits in a corner picking petals off a flower.

“They love me not… they love me not… they love me not………. I’m starting to think this system is rigged.”

“I, uh… had no idea.” He’s a bit embarrassed to say that. “Never came up so I guess I assumed…”

“but, thats not what were talking about right now. “ she grans his hand and puts it on her breast.

“Wait, what?” A pause. “Utsuho’s not–……..” Then again, he doesn’t really know. It’s not the most important medical information.

“You... didn’t know? He confided in me when Neya confessed.. Its why he hasnt accepted or denied her confession./”

“I don’t really understand why. When we met, you thought men were evil animals. And then you were after Utsuho since he gave you that mirror.”

“well” she thought you were a woman “Utsuho turned out to be gay.”

“It’s not strange to want it. What is strange is suddenly hitting on someone out of nowhere like this.”

“Oh? Out of the blue? I’ve had my eye on you since we met.” she smirks at him and trails her hand off his face.

“W-well… you’re behaving in a very…” He doesn’t know how to word this. “forward manner.”

“Oh? Is it strange for a woman to want that sort of thing? Men talk about it all the time, you know.”

Wait, what was that?! “Iwashi, have you been drinking?”

“Why do you ask?” her hands stays on his cheek as she obverses his reaction. Hey if she didn’t get what she was after she’d at least win a bet by confirming yakuma was gay. (she was right with utsuho so its time to go 2 for 2)

Aaaand hes not getting it so shes going in for the punch, leaning in to brush lips with him, only teasing that kiss before pulling away.
