I read the tags and the summery and if the combination sounds interesting to me then I read it. I’ve certainly been the first kudos on something before.
This makes me wonder if hiding story stats would make people more likely to read.
Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?

Just curious how common this experience is. It's probably the most damaging thing my parents passed down to me but they're Boomers and I'm not sure if it's a generational thing that's gotten better (since most tumblr users have gen x or millennial parents). Anyway, if you internalized this as a kid I hope you find love and healing like I did. Your needs matter 💕
#when I was like 3-4 years old#sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night#because I was scared or had a nightmare or didn’t feel good or whatever other reason toddlers do that#normal baby/toddler behavior#my parents slept in the attic so I couldn’t go to their room so I would just cry instead until my mom would come down and comfort me#well one night my dad came down instead#he proceeded to stomp around very loudly and punch open my door#then told toddler me that I needed to stop being so selfish to inconvenience everyone just because I don’t feel good#then just went back up to his room without another word or even stepping into my room to find out why I was crying#I had anxiety attacks any time I ever had to wake up my parents for any reason from then on#and the fact I can still remember this event that happened when I was 3 now in my 40s#tells you how significantly this affected me

The fact this is a jury trial at all is insane to me. There's no way they could have gotten any juror that is actually impartial. You can't take anyone who's been president and trying to become president again and expect a single person to have a neutral take on who they are or what they've done.
