just finished reading through your essay in your pinned post and it. made me rethink this relationship i had been absolutely torturing myself over for years?? i’ve largely been the only brown person in white lgbt spaces and it didn’t even really occur to me that my white ex girlfriend was saying i took advantage of her because she was being racist. that��s. fucking crazy. i literally assumed i must have dissociated and therefore blocked out assaulting her but no!! she was lying!!!!! that’s crazy!!!! white people are SO insane god why would you ever lie about something like that

anyway thank you for posting all of that. white people are so crazy it’s So nice to have other people of colour (even though we literally just became mutuals ehehe. but still, i genuinely really appreciate it)

I think the thing it can take some BIPOC ages to learn or remember when shit hits the fan is that when it comes to preserving white supremacy and their position within it, every white (especially US whites) who hasn’t done sufficient and real work to establish antiracism as a core facet of their being and interactions will consciously or unconsciously lie like they fucking breathe immediately.

And because in most contexts a BIPOC person will not have the same systemic motivation to preserve their status within white supremacy *because* white supremacy views us as permanently tainted/unsalvagable (ones who do are often outliers hoping to better their position via sacrificing their kindred), we do not always immediately remember three cardinal truths of whiteness/white supremacy:

1. The worst white is viewed as inarguably better than the best non-white within white supremacist societies, and the abolition of whiteness is often viewed by whiteness with fear that without the shackles of white supremacy on them, they’ll rise above, and therefore lower the worth of, any “lesser” whites. As such, marginalized whites often still engage in white solidarity and oppression maintenance even though it actively harms them as well, because regardless of what they *say*, their actions show they see the alternative of a racial liberation and white abolishment as a lessening rather than a communal freeing.

2. Whites will lie far beyond what’s reasonable to maintain 1, as once they commit they become afraid of the consequences of reneging OR the risk of revenge should they fail. To them, there is no surrender, just their own destruction because if caught holding up these terms of white supremacy using falsehoods, they lose access to that as a tool unless they leave completely to a new community; and that lessened usefulness to other whites is a lessening of them intrinsically as well.

3. Whites will almost always be willing to betray any other ideological belief to maintain the superstructure of white supremacy. They can say kill nazis, but refuse to dismantle the bones of it in their own communities and will fight against any non-white that tries. When we describe an ideology as White - White Feminism, White Anarchy, White Veganism - this is what we mean.

And as such they will do literally anything to uphold whiteness when the chips are down, even if they know it’s a lost cause - they have to maintain the masquerade of whiteness. If they’re “an imperfect victim” in some way rather than a known liar, they still have a level of power to leverage their whiteness.

I’m sorry you were gaslighted into believing you became some kind of mindless monster. You deserved better. PLEASE remember to always double check anything potentially sus a cracker fucking says beyond them, I’m sorry.

Reader, if you white, you must actively decide to betray whiteness and white supremacy, to address and work against it when told you’re perpetrating it, to stop valuing your limited position over your BIPOC Comrades, or you’ll never get free either.

If you participate in a protest in Germany, stewards are legally required to help coordinate. Those stewards are usually chosen beforehand, but if participation numbers greatly exceed the expectations, new stewards might be needed.

Be aware, as a steward your ID will be recorded by police, so unless you have a lawyer or are easily capable of paying one, do not volunteer to be one. Stewards are the easiest targets for retaliation.

Also, remember to be nice to stewards, they are participating in the protest just like you, but are also there to help with coordination and following requirements.
