do fic readers know that their comments actually influence the course of the story sometimes? i don't mean in a "you need to write it this way because i say so 😡" type of comment, i mean when people are asking questions or really engaging with the plot and the themes in the comments they sometimes bring up things that i didn't even think of, or dig into parts of the story that i've overlooked, or get really interested/fixated on something i was going to just kind of glance over--and it has me going 'oh wait that's actually really interesting, that's a good point' and fully adding or tweaking or changing things about the story going forward. i'm literally adding an entire additional chapter to something right now because someone's comment had me like "oh i didn't dig into that as much as i could have." you have impact!

when will the seven year witch be completed? i’ve been waiting for the end for ages so i don’t mind whenever it gets posted, i’d just love a rough idea of the time frame, i love it so im so excited to read the rest <3

Hi anon! Thanks so much for asking! It's incredibly sweet of you to have connected with this story, which has a special place in my heart as well.

Right. First of all, my apologies for the excessive wait!

Second, yes, the story will be finished! Not least because I hate to leave you all hanging like that. Unfortunately, I've since had several RL hiccups, the most serious in terms of fic-writing being my laptop having been stolen.

Another is (and forgive me for broadening the scope) that I have very little motivation to create for the HP fandom any longer. It's become increasingly difficult, bordering on the impossible, to separate the fandom from the ideology of its creator, and I simply do not wish to contribute to anything that is currently being explicitly supported by and in support of bigotry, as it translates, ultimately, into a soft-launch of fascism.

As to the posting schedule, I'm very, very sorry to disappoint you but I cannot name a date—at least not a realistic one. Even with my ADHD medicated, my executive functioning skills in terms of writing aren't anywhere near a level where I could give a reliable schedule. And at this point, raising hopes seems like the worst possible option—next to abandoning the story completely, which I won't do.

If you feel differently however, do let me know. Again, I'm so sorry about my snail’s pace.

P.s. would snippets of the final chapter be something you're interested in? They might not make it into the final cut though...

For most of us, college/university is hella expensive- even if some of us may have government schemes or something else to fall back on as safety nets, it ends up costing quite a bit. But as it stands now, a degree is important to access certain jobs which in turn can help with accessing a better life.

For close to two years now, students in Gaza have been living a life of uncertainty. When I talk to my friends, they often tell me how difficult it has been to access even the most basic necessities of life. Still they are persevering with the hope that one day they will rebuild both Gaza and their lives back. They have enrolled themselves in online courses and distance learning programs and are working hard to get a degree. However these cost money- from renting a space, to paying for both electric and net connection to do the course work. So to help with that, Gaza based ISNAD FOUNDATION ( reblogged by Nabulsi ) has been started and for now it is sponsoring 30 students. The goal is to raise $2000 USD per month to cover these bases. So please spread the word and donate if you can.

Recently the official blog for ISNAD got deleted by the tumblr staff, making it difficult for the campaigners to navigate around the site; so it would help a lot if you would also follow them on their new blog for the updates. "Israel" is trying its best to destroy the future of a whole generation. And as you know, crippling a whole generation by not letting them access education won't only affect them, but all those who come after them too. So please do not turn away now.
