first pic shows how his abilities can be overwhelming sometimes, especially when garmadon or another disaster strikes ninjago and everyone is frantic and scared. other’s emotions become a sort of chatter in his brain that he can’t turn off, and it can become physically painful if he’s around too many people at once.

second demonstrates his ability to project emotions onto others. with a little effort, he can project any emotion he wants into somebody’s mind, though it doesn’t completely override their own emotions, just dulls them. it’s useful for calming people when they’re upset, or sharing his own emotional state. here he’s comforting kai down from some sort of panic attack. when he uses this ability, his eyes (and if applicable, any body parts that are physically touching the subject) gain a slight green glow.
