The Elegant Workhorse Pen
In a modern world where writing is fueled by keyboards, tablets, phones, and blue light screens that harm our eyesight, the humble ink pen has become an often-forgotten, understated luxury.
The experience of seeing ink flow onto a piece of paper or a journal page, feeling the balanced weight of a writing utensil, and listening to the curiously satisfying rhythmic scratch of a metal tip on a page is astoundingly therapeutic.
What's more, using pen and paper is much cheaper than buying a piece of technology and potentially more valuable in the long run. A number of years back, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH, asked Bono of U2 if he would be willing to donate the original lyrics of a song for a museum display. He said he would be glad to print off lyrics from his laptop, much to the dismay of the asker, as a computer document can be printed and reprinted endlessly, while a handwritten verse of a song like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" would have been priceless since it's the only artifact in existence.
At The Lion's Pen, one of our all-time favorite pens is the Pilot G2 with a 0.5 mm point. The pen is lightweight yet substantial and balanced, and the Extra Fine Point looks and feels so elegant. Also, you don't have to worry about losing a $500 Montblanc pen. The Pilot G2 is a workhorse pen that performs beautifully without a high price tag.

Faith without Evidence
Yahweh always keeps His promises; however, the first steps of the fulfillment do not always resemble a monumental Exodus accompanied by signs and wonders.
Sometimes, when Yahweh sets things into motion that He promised to do - for example, sending the Messiah into the world who would bring freedom to captive Israel and be a neverending ruler on the throne of David - it looks more like an inconspicuous child who appeared to be the scandalous result of premarital sex and who went on to be raised in a humble town on the other side of the tracks.
We often say, "Things are not always as they seem," and this is no less true with Yahweh's work.
Let us remind ourselves, though, that that little baby that became the juicy gossip of the people is coming back as a warrior on a white horse with a sharp sword in His hand to judge the unrighteous who refused to believe in Him and lift up his brothers and sisters (all who believed in Him throughout history) to their promised inheritance which far surpasses any trust fund, investment return, or real estate we could ever have on this earth even if we were King Solomon himself.
Application: If Yahweh has made a promise to you and it appears that He hasn't fulfilled it, remember this Lion isn't lyin'. We walk by faith, not by sight; and faith is the evidence of things not seen; in other words, when Yahweh fulfills His promise, we may not immediately see any physical evidence that He has done anything. Yet, we can't see Him like we see each other, either, can we?
Do not lose heart; be of good courage; trust in the One who is worthy of your trust, not in your eyes that are generally limited to the natural world.
