Assignment 3 playtesting
the game is pretty enjoyable, and the game mechanics work as intended. However, there are also many bugs that have been identified, with many of them being unfixable to my knowledge. The main bug to take note of is when enemies line up perfectly and die, it counts as only one enemy and therefore makes it impossible to advance the wave(s) of the game and thus softlocks the player.

Racing review
The racing game was mildly engaging and users reported it didnt have much replayability. the game would require more mechanics than the simple game loop to make the game more engaging.

Racing Dev log
The coding component for this game concept's base mechanics was fairly easy to implement. Players score balancing was hard to perfect and more playtesting will be required. when players tested the game, it was found that the goal was unclear and not obvious.

Racing pitch
The game is going to be like an inverse. where instead of racing or dodging cars, the aim is to try and hit as many cars as possible within the allotted time to get a high score.

Asteroids review
The asteroids game is pretty boring and i dont think ill continue developing the concept. i prefer the platformer style games' mechanics as theyre more engaging.

to begin with, a prototype similar to the original has been made. playtesting has shown that there needs to be more challenge and some sort of score or goal to work towards

Asteroids pitch
For my asteroids game concept i want to make a game similar to the original asteroids, however it would be interesting if it focused on a different gameplay feature. although that is still to be determined

Platformer review
The game concept works well, however there are many improvements that can be added. There needs to be a scoreboard to track coin collection. maybe enemies could drop coins. also platforms need to be more accessible, with the challenge not relying on pixel perfect jumps, but rather problem-solving.

so far so good; the game has basic jump mechanics, double jump spaces and wall jumps that work well for traversing the floating terrain. I'm happy with the theming of this game, and its aesthetics. The hangable wall objects highlighted with green takes inspiration from Doom (2016).
