For me it's nice to spend my first world bipolar day stable and free from mania and depression. I was diagnosed in 2012 with symptoms existing since 2008 now at 23 in 2017 on my notes I am put down as in remission. Bipolar used to run my life. It made me leave uni, give up work, ruined countless friendships and relationships and it even nearly ruined my pregnancy as stopping lithium caused me severe perinatal depression and I wasn't well postnatally till I came home from hospital but it doesn't control me anymore I'm in control of it. I'm still medicated but without medication I'd be like I was those years ago. I can't understand anyone who wants this diagnosis or people who aren't responsible for their diagnosis but I can understand people who hate their medication and want the services to leave them alone. Being unwell isn't a choice but being well is, and for bipolar day that's what sufferers should be doing, raising awareness so others can get help and get well 💜 #lifewithbipolar #bipolaraffectivedisorder #bipolar

Makes me so proud to have stable written on my bio. My psych has put me as in remission on my notes and I'm so happy about it. 2 years ago right now I was in my last noted mania and now I'm in the best place ever.
