Francis Poulenc and a fragment of the ensemble assembled for the British premiere of his ‘Sextet for piano and winds’ on the Third Programme on 3 December 1946. The flautist is Robert Murchie and on the right in the bottom picture is W.J. Mathews, clarinet. The other players were Ernest Lush (piano), Peter Newbury (oboe), John Alexandra (bassoon) and Leonard Brain (oboe).

A penguin at our rehearsal! And a wild boar! On closer inspection, we discover that it is the violist Martin Stegner and clarinetist Manfred Preis.

Ein Pinguin in unserer Probe! Und ein Wildschwein! Bei näherem Hinsehen stellen wir fest, dass es sich um den Bratschisten Martin Stegner und den Klarinettisten Manfred Preis handelt.

Croydon's entry in the 2012/13 London New Years Day parade blends the classical world of Mozart with the contemporary beats of the borough's most infamous musical export to the world - the dubstep phenomenon. The borough's float will feature rising dubstep DJ star Toby Harrison along with a quintet of brass players from the Croydon-based London Mozart Players, one of the countries finest chamber orchestras.
