An amused look immediately crossed her face at his words and she thought it over before nodding, "Fair point there. Can't say I've ever felt endorphins or whatever people claim they get when running, or going to the gym." Seemed like a pyramid scheme kind of thing. "The color bit sounds fun though. Maybe if there's any leftovers someone can just take it and throw a color party or something?"
"Mimosas, every time without question," Atlas says as if he had been presented with the option of alcohol or certain peril, shaking his head as he weighed the two up in his own mind, "Running's something should only be done out of necessity, can't trust a person who chooses it."
Any time Atlas had been sprinting through town it was almost always because he was fleeing something he did or someone he didn't want to catch him.

Lucinda kept finding herself laughing and smiling at their easy back and forth, an effortless mixture of banter and flirting that was very, very enticing. "No worries, I won't judge you for whatever thoughts creep into your mind. And as for your ego....I'll take your word for it, Sami." As she said it she made it a point to look him up and down again, smirking all the while.
The change from a smirk to a smile was easy too, her expression softening a bit as she noted the shift in the man's tone, his whole demeanor sobering up just a bit. She appreciated it, and when he finally, properly, asked her out, Luce nodded, "Dinner and some sort of other thing sounds perfect." She agreed before she held her hand out for his phone, soon enough typing her name into it and sending herself a text so she'd have his number. "There." Lucinda 馃憫 had been programmed into his phone before she passed it back. "Just don't keep me waiting too long, pretty boy." She told him, leaning in and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before pulling back altogether. "Have a good rest of your night."
"Oh, wow. Damn." he fights a grin as she teases. "Well, now I know what's gonna be creeping into my mind later tonight..." Immediately he laughs, shaking his head. "I'm kidding. That would be so... so inappropriate..." A deliberate pause. "To admit." His head cants and Samir can't help but shrug. "Hey, I am not saying I for sure have a big... ego... or not. I haven't gotten any complaints about it though. I like to think it's the right ego." Samir feels just the tiniest bit of electricity as her fingers brush back, his own smile softening at that. There's amusement in his eyes but maybe something else in his expression: a moment of... nervousness? He clears his throat, gaze settling more deliberately on her eyes. "Lucinda," he begins, expression going slightly more serious now, "Luce. Can I take you on a proper date? Not tonight, obviously... Just soon. And probably not a bar this time. Just, you know, dinner and some sort of other thing, to be determined?" At the end, he can't help but smirk. "And also, can I have your number? I feel like it'll make things easier..." @thelucexcaldwell

Luce made a show of tapping her finger against her chin, thinking of the options, "Mmm, maybe. But doesn't color run entail getting doused in rainbows? Would there be time for both?" She wondered, tilting her head before looking up to the man beside him. "After all, I can't show up to brunch a sweaty mess. Even I'm not that pretty to pull that off."
"Why not both? Get the workout in, then you'll need to refuel with a hearty or sugary meal, depending on your choice." He had no idea what the schedule of activities was but just wanted to get out and look around the town. It's been six years since he stepped foot in Aurora Bay. Some things had remained the same while others changed for the better. "Sounds like a win-win to me."

Luce snorted at the girl's response, laughing as she shook her head in amusement, "Hey, you never know! I could try turning over a new leaf? Healthy girl summer and all?" Even as she said it though, Luce was still giggling, clearly not even believing herself since she'd never been known to turn down brunch. "Of course I am." She was never one to turn down a party either. "The real question is, are we pregaming it? Or just raw-dogging it and hoping people buy us drinks?"
Bradley guffawed aloud, giving Luce a brief pause before continuing, "Oh, you were serious? Brunch and mimosas, stat. And major props to those who are strong enough to willingly choose otherwise. Please tell me you're coming to the foam party, too. I could always use a new party buddy."

Luce playfully wiggled her fingers in her friend's direction, a bright grin on her face, "You definitely were right about the hot pink." She praised, looking over her manicure for a moment more before finally up to her friend's face. "Oasis, definitely. And on the way there I can tell you about the guy who asked me out on a date while we were at prom with two different people."

"Come on, we've got to go show off those nails of yours now." Victoria said, taking the blonde's hands into hers one more time to admire the hard work she'd put in. "I need wine, maybe a fancy cocktail, maybe...maybe both." She said a little too enthusiastically. "You wanna go to Oasis or the Reef?"

"The real question is, sign up for this 5k? Or, fuck it and and reserve a spot for brunch?" Luce asked aloud, sipping on a frozen cocktail that had been rainbow but now everything was mixed together into a murky color. "Like, do we go with health or the bottomless mimosas?"

"Nice save for the date then, since I would've been pissed if my date left to have fun without me instead of inviting me along." She teased with a little grin before looking out towards her own date for the evening and nodding in agreement at calling Vi hot. "She is. Great in bed too." She told him casually, but there was a glint in her eyes then, the smirk on her lips growing before before finally turned all her attention back to the man beside her, the smirk practically taking up permanent residence on her face at that point as Samir called himself hotter. "Oh you think huh? Nice to know you have a nice big...ego."
Luce was definitely having fun with the conversation, the teasing and the banter easily ebbing into flirting and, well, he was attractive after all... His fingers grazing over hers made her eyes flutter down then, the smirk finally shifting and morphing into a regular smile (one that admittedly was a bit surprised) but she just hummed, nudging her fingers back against his as she tilted her head, "Is that so? Well, you have to properly ask me first, especially since the first one was technically all my doing."
Samir notes the nickname, fighting a little smile as he watches her, eyes fixed on hers as she talks. "See, and I was at some stuffy school in LA... And I'm just giving you shit because I 100% left too. But it wasn't for a rooftop hotel party, which honestly sounds pretty bomb. I don't even remember where we ended up. I'm pretty sure my buddies and I initially left to score some shit, I and left my poor prom date there, too. That poor girl deserved such a better time..." He shakes his head. "Last I knew, she was engaged to a pretty well-liked B-list type actor, though so I mean... Maybe my bullshit was for the best." He laughs at her words, shaking his head. "Nah. Haha. I'm not trying to hook up with some rando tonight... Not for prom." He bats his lashes faux-dreamily, then a smirk tugs his lips. Amusement stays on his face as she continues, and he can't help but chuckle at the 'hot' preference. When she points out her friend, his eyes follow, looking the woman over, and maybe even giving a wave if she sees him looking. "Oh, good pull, though, Luce... She's cute..." His eyes are back on her once more and he gives her a ridiculous grin. "...but I think I'm hotter... Just saying." A playfully pouty expression pulls his lips. "Aw, now Imma be really sad when I go home tonight, thinking of all that could have been..." He tsks, letting his gaze stay on her. "We should both be sad. I absolutely would have put my money where my mouth is." The corniness of his own response has him chuckling again, but he catches himself. Absently, he reaches out, lightly brushing her fingers with his. "Real talk, though? We really should have a second date..." @thelucexcaldwell

Luce playfully scrunched up her nose in the other's direction but she was grinning just the same, happily showing off her dress. "If I had to feel bad for looking good then I'd never get anything else done, babe." She teased, happily leaning into Vi's side as they stood to the side, the party around them in full swing.
"Let's take another round of shots and then go dance? We gotta be show-off's after all." She told her, easily looping her arm through Violet's. "And then as for delicacies, considering this is your old school, you're the one who knows the way around, so I'll just follow your lead."
who: closed starter for @thelucexcaldwell where: prom bby!
"listen, I am ready to gas you up all night because hot damn." vi fawned over her favorite flirtationship, giving her a spin on the dance floor. "like, are you not just a little remorseful for putting every other person here to shame with your beauty? you don't even feel a little bad showing us all up like this?"
her tall frame rested against luce, the 'pre-game' drinks she had thrown back beginning to take their toll (on a hardly full stomach, no less). "so, what's first? dancing, drinks, or...." the pause was soon filled with laughs. "delicacies? I don't know, was trying to make that an alliteration and that's the best I've got. don't judge."

Stunning. Luce beamed at that, happily preening at the compliments sent her way, "Why thank you, Sami." She replied teasingly before rolling her eyes, "Pretty sure our delinquencies were the same. Sort of, anyways, since mine also included drinking and smoking." As any good high school debauchery did. "I went to some stuffy private school in Chicago? Me and a bunch of friends left early and went to a hotel down the block because it had a rooftop pool. My mother nearly had a stroke at my ruining some fancy dress she forced me into." A big poofy ballgown that most definitely hadn't been her style. Served her mother right, in Luce's opinion.
She couldn't help the snort that she let out as Samir continued to speak, shaking her head ruefully at him. "Yanno what, I appreciate the self-assuredness at least. So here's to hoping you do, in fact, find someone to put out for." She teased with a grin. "My preference is hot." She told him simply, shrugging all the while since she'd dated men and women alike. "I am here with a date though, my friend Violet." She looked throughout the room then, pointing out her date to him before she teasingly gave him a little elbow jab. "Gotta say though, if it wasn't for already being on someone else's arm, I might just have to tell you to put your money where your mouth is in terms of how the night would end, pretty boy."
He of course takes time to admire as she twirls, brows raising as Samir smothers a little smile. "Hey, you make the perfect iridescent mermaid." He motions. "Whole look is..." a pause, "Stunning." Samir nods along as she speaks, grinning a little. "Oh, shit... Did you go off and do delinquent things instead of dance the night away, Luce? Tsk tsk... Mine was alright... Although I was definitely drunk and high for most of it so... Seeing this one through a somewhat clearer head." He gives a quick glance around as he says this. His eyes go back to her and he grins, shaking his head. "Nah, I decided I'd fly this one solo. Just mingle and chill. I am my own date tonight." He can't help himself, smirking as the next words spill from his lips. "But, I mean... I know imma put out at the end of the night so..." Immediately, he starts laughing, shaking his head. "Fuck, I am so sorry. Haha... I'm just... messing. And maybe slightly tipsy..." He holds up a glass of the remnants of some random cocktail that looks like it had been fancy. An upgrade from Blue Moon for sure. "So what about you? Who's the lucky dude...? Or lady... I don't think we ever established preferences..." @thelucexcaldwell

Luce playfully tossed her hair over her shoulder, falling in long blonde waves along her back as she grinned, "Me and my ego thank you for the compliment." She quipped back before nodding towards the other woman, "Missed opportunity if they're not themed. But I saw someone with something blue? So it's a safe assumption. And you look insane for the record. If I'm the mermaid then you'd be the sunset I'd sit on the rock towards. Hope your date fully appreciates that too. You're too hot to not be fawned over all night." Case in point, as Tori took one of her hands, Luce used the other to playfully fan in both their faces as they walked, heading towards the bar.
"And you're the hottest mermaid here. You look freaking incredible, Luce. Look at those legs." In reality, there wasn't a scenario where Lucinda wouldn't look incredible. Victoria's grin widened as the blonde mentioned cocktails. "Are they themed, they've got to be themed right?" It felt off brand if they didn't have ocean themed cocktails for the occasion. It was strange being back at her high school but Victoria was kind of living for this. With that she turned on her feet, slipping her hand into the blonde's so they didn't loose each other in the sea of people as they headed for the bar. @thelucexcaldwell

Having gotten ready at Vi's place, Luce didn't see her roommate until now--and she wasn't quite sure if that had been a good thing or not. Things with Cian were....different. At least to her they were; they'd always been casually flirty with each other in the months that they'd known each other and lived together. It'd all been playful and fun and easy. But lately touches have felt more heated and glances lingered a bit too long. Or maybe it was all in her head and she just really needed to get laid. Deciding not to think on all that any longer though--and forcing herself to just accept that it was all stupidly in her head anyways, Lucinda wormed her way through the crowd and to where he was, catching his eye as she walked up to him.
"Look who decided to show up after all."

"Didn't know mermaids had crowns, so..." She trailed off with a laugh. "But it definitely pulls your whole look together." Something she was sure others would agree with. Before she could say much else though, Isla was twirling her and she couldn't help but laugh, the short skirt of her dress swirling around her thighs. "There's always Halloween? From mermaids to sirens sounds fun to me."
Luce definitely caught the blush on her friend's face earlier though, and with Isla's hand still in hers she wasted no time in pouncing, stepping closer and ducking her head in towards Isla's. "Yeah, but no date in recent memory has you blushing, Is. Now come on, spill. Is it the same date you were being tight-lipped about the other week on the boat?"
"you are too kind, my love." bejewled fingers shot up to said crown, a soft laugh following her words. "I mean, it would have just been a shame to not, right? what is a mermaid without her crown?" a soft tint of red crept up isla's face at the tease. "well, you know me. I'd never show up to any event without a date."
the blonde quickly shifted gears as she gave her friend a twirl. "and here you are, looking absolutely marvelous. if we were sirens, no man would be safe."

Luce found herself grinning and even stepping into the embrace, hugging him back since she'd never say no to any form of casual affection, even if she'd only met the man once before. His words made her roll her eyes though and she shook her head as she playfully gave a little twirl. "I'd never turn down the opportunity to play dress up, especially as an iridescent mermaid." She joked, grinning at him. "And so far so good? I never really went to my prom, I only lasted about forty-five minutes before some friends and I decided to ditch. So prom 1.5 is going well." It was definitely prettier than her actual prom, that was for sure. "And you? Got yourself a hot date or anything?"
"Princess Lucinda," Samir greets her with all the warmth in the world, even holding out his arms for a quick hello embrace if she allows it. "Damn I would have actually dressed up if I knew you were gonna be here looking so radiant..." The smile on his face is genuine, even with his playful tone. He takes a slight step back to look her over again, smile staying. "So how you enjoying Prom 2.0?" @thelucexcaldwell

Comfort food?
"It's a tie between pizza and chicken parm. A nanny I had growing up who made the best chicken cutlet and I always felt super important when she let me help make them. Mine never come out as good as hers, but still. And then pizza because it's pizza. It's impossible to be sad when eating pizza."

"Not surprised at how amazing you look. I shouldn't have expected anything less than a crown." Luce teased as she came up beside one of her best friends, grinning at her. "And I bet I'm not the only one who thinks so, if the guy whose arm you were hanging off of is any indication..."
