A Great Reason Why People Need to Watch Comedy Movies
Everyone needs a good laugh from time to time. That is when we go to see a good comedy. There are many reasons why this genre of movies is good. Everyone needs a little bit of laughter at some point in their life. They have to smile because things in this life just wear us out and break us down. However, there is a good thing or two to know about comedies.
Comedies are suitable for people from all age groups. There are cartoons for kids and more matured content for adults and teenagers.
Comedy
is a way to keep people from all walks of life entertained. Some comedies are based on family values, therefore making it suitable for parents and children to watch and enjoy together.
Nevertheless, some of the materials used to make people laugh have been pretty controversial. There have been some comedies that are based on jokes that demean a person’s sexual orientation. Gays and lesbians have been bashed greatly in most comedy flicks. It is very common to turn on your TV to watch a movie, and to find that there is a gay or lesbian in the movie that has all the perceived characteristics associated with homosexuals.
There are also some films that make comedy out of racist jokes. People tend to laugh when they show a movie where a Mexican is driving a van recklessly when there are other drivers on the road. Some make racist jokes about black people. Contrary to what is being fought for by human rights, our society has taught us that making fun with racism is very acceptable.
There might have been times that come you have gone to watch a comedy movie and left the cinema finding that the movie is not funny at all. There are some movies that just try too hard to be funny. You probably would have seen at least one of these lousy comedies. We wonder where the directors came up with such a plot for these films. It is almost as though someone who was smoking weed had put random videos together and called it a movie.
However, there are some comedies that touch the heart and stick to you. Many favored movies that made jokes about previous movies that have been released. Many of you will remember the
Scary Movies
films which made fun of several horror movies. We laughed because Scary Movie made fun of other horrific and scary movies, and turned it into a light-hearted movie. We should have a little time for comedies in our lives. It is what we need after a tough or bad day. Sometimes, we don’t want the fairy tale ending. We don’t want to think. We just want to laugh and enjoy the show. This is what top 10
comedy movies
do for us. It is also the type of movie you can go to when you want to watch something alone. And at the same time, you can watch comedies together with a group of friends. Finally, comedies will be perfect if you just need to calm down and lose yourself for the moment.

The History Of Horror Movies — Tribute to Horror in Cinemas
From time to time, we see so many
horror movies
come and go. Spooky, haunted houses, serial killers, slashers, maniacs, mentals, satanic and many others have been pictured in the movie. A lot of sub genres, a lot of remakes, a lot of variations, twist and all that can easily be found through the ages. Yeah, it’s all true. But have we ever thought where it all came from?Or how does the horror movies genre change from time to time?
For you who share the same passion about horror movies, and want to know the road that have been travelled by Horror movies, allow me to have the honor to be your guide. Buckle up, here we go.
Where It All BeganThe year was 1922, place: German. I can say that it was the birth of horror movies. W Murnau started the terror and fear through Nosferatu, nosferatuthestory about bloodsucking vampire. It wasn’t the first vampire movie, as in 1896 Georges Melies made Le Castle Du Diable, but Nosferatu was the first movie where we saw vampire destroyed by sunlight. This one boasted remarkable animalistic makeup that has not been replicated, even with moderntechnology. Dozens of
vampire movies
followed after that. In 1931 Universal Studio launched 2 legendary horror movies, Dracula with Bela Lugosi and Frankenstein with Boris Karloff. Both of the movie became a classic and very successful. Boris Karloff even became a legendary name in horror movies history. The Mummy (1932) a silent picture with horror icon Boris Karloff in the title role, remains a classic, with unforgettable make-up and atmosphere. In 1935, the sequel of Frankenstein,The Bride Of Frankenstein was made. This isn’t silent anymore.
Psycho
During 40’s the world’s on war, and it has changed the genre. Horror was almost forgotten as patriotic movies and war has taken the place. It slowly raised again around 50’s, where comedy and musical movies ruled. There were good ones took place at this time, House of Wax is one of the example. 1960 was the time for Hitchcock to make a memorable movie: Psycho. Too bad, this is the only horror movie by Hitchcock, cuz then he made lots of suspence thriller goodies like Rear Window, Vertigo,North by Northwest,Dial M For Murder that kinda changed the genre again. And remember, spaghetti western Movies in the late 60’s also had its moment.
The 70'sThis is the most creative year of
Horror movies
.Unlike before, horror movies got big exploration, where so many variation of story and evil came in. Note there were lots of controversy and protest happened here. The Exorcist (1973) for example showed disgusting scenes that never been imagined before, like the green puke to the face transformed to evil. This movie was controversial when Catholic Church protested that the demon cast-out in the movie was against the code of conduct. The shining, that based on Stephen King’s novel was one of the best one during 70’s. Later on from this decade to 80s and 90s, lots of movies was made based on his scary novel such as Carrie, Christine, Cujo, It, , Cat’s Eye, Dream Catcher, are the example. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) was a low budget movie that reached a great result. This one introduced “the slasher movie” to the world that later followed by Halloween (say hi to Michael Myers) , Friday the 13th, Scream in the 80’s and 90’s and so on. Omen is a bonechillin’ movie that can still giveyou nightmare even with today’s technology of making movie.Simply unforgettable. Amityville Horror, based on the true story was the first movie that took place in the actual location. The report said a lot of bizarre and dreadful things were experienced by cast and crew in location.
The 80's
Freddie Kruger
This is the decade of madness. All gory stuff were shown sadistically for viewing. cutted off body parts were seen everywhere. Nightmare on Elm Street that launched Freddy Krueger to horror hall of fame, and Jason Voorheyes slashing games in Friday the 13th are one of the example. These two had some of their sequels during 80s, together with 3 of Halloweens. And remember how Italian horror movies that have a very sick super bloody vision? Count Romero and Argento for this category. This is also the era where horror expanded to tv.
The 90'sFunny thing happened in 90s. There’s a tendency of self defense and self actualization by horror character on terror they have made to people. For example Ghost, Bram Stocker’s Dracula that told the story about CountDracula’s painful love to Mina, or Interview With Vampires that unlocked the mystery of vampire lives. Scream started a new genre, teen horror movies, slashing-serial-killer-who-did-it,which soon followed by I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend, and some more. A note in 1999, an independent movie Blair Witch Project became a big phenomena, using a documentation technique to give us fear, tense and mental disturbance. This one inspired some other movies like St.Francisville Experiment, The Lamarie Project andtv series Freaky Links.
2000's
Ringu
Still too early maybe to talk about horror movies in 2000s, but looks like Hollywood has running out of ideas. They are trying to widen up their view to see new ideas outside that can give new vision on the term of horror. The Ring, remake from Japanese movie was their first success. Followed by The eye, and some other remakes from Asian cinemas. This decade seems being led by Japan and Korea, by making so many horror movies with lack of effects or gory blood but still successfully tortured our feeling. They don’t go with the Hollywood pattern, they just dig everything else that hasn’t been touched yet. Thailand is also emerging as a good horror maker. Indonesian movies too, with amusing number of horror movies every year. We also mark the decade 2000 for the decade of sequels and remakes too, such as Halloween H2O, Freddy vs Jason, modern version of Bram Stocker’s Dracula, Dracula 2001,Halloween Resurrection, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre , House of The Dead, The Amityville Horror and so on.While the effort to combine some genres and produce something new has still been going on. Saw for example, combine the psycho thriller ala Hitchkock with slasher, sadistic, bloody and graphic scenes.

Travco - Passport and Visa Services
Concepts for using new passport services are listed below. Decide how these services can benefit you. Discover the ways that this sector improves tourism. Shed the fear of applying for an international travel passport, and get going!
Audiences took little notice at first. An avalanche of advertising offering passport services pop up in the media. Next, governmental authorities tried mightily to build up border protection. Now, the intentions behind the media advertisements are revealed. Companies advertise because international travel has changed.
Individual Advantages
Quick submission expedites the passport request. Using a submission service reduces the wait by about two thirds. What normally takes 3 months can take 1 month when submitted using a professional passport service provider. Every submission is a bit different and performance can vary.
Requesting extra fast submission shortens the time period even further. 1 to 2 business days are not unprecedented. Travel services companies help to submit requests to the government. A government agency then reviews and grants the requests for official travel documents.
Tumblr media
Providers of passport assistance distribute further beneficial advantages. The fees they charge are to help ensure that document submission is as complete as it can be. These companies can advise clients in the case of a need for other documents by the country traveled to. Travelers should recall that travel support businesses do accept contracts, even when there are no emergencies that justify an accelerated passport submission.
Benefits For Travel Industry
Tightly bound geopolitical border lines contribute to the high appeal for overseas travel. A rising tide of experienced travelers now accept that they must take their annual holiday within their own country. Other vacation seekers choose to postpone vacations. Restrictions may overtime become less harsh, or residents will get acclimatized to the current laws. Travel companies will still be there to give advice on passport applications. They will assist the travel industry rebound out of its current slow period.
People who enjoy vacationing as part of a larger group often have considerable needs. Salaried employees and students tend to move about in groups. Group members may require special types of visas, for instance. The offerings of a passport services company can satisfy some of these travel needs.
New Century Travel Plans
No longer can residents of border towns travel with normal scrutiny beyond their own country border. Radio and television news reports increasingly feature stories about these border towns. The residents enjoy recalling how freely they, in their youth, crossed over into the bordering country. The border towns of today are adequately fenced off by barbed wire, concrete barricades, or armed border guards.
Perhaps the battery of ads promoting assisted passport requests should alert us to have a new view of international travel. What is this new view? We should get a foreign travel passport of course, in the same way we purchase watches or driver licenses. If you have not paid attention to passport advertising, then maybe now you will see the ads in a different light. They help us perceive how foreign travel has changed in this 21st century.
Concepts for using new passport services listed here can be of benefit. Decide what advantages can be gained for you. Discover how tourism can change in the future. Feel more comfortable about getting your passport and foreign travel permits.

Visa Service — How to Apply For a Travel Visa
Visa service is available to U.S. citizens at the embassies and consulates of the country or countries they plan to visit. While there may be some variables that are specific to a particular country, there are a lot of visa requirements that are common to most countries. Familiarizing yourself with these will make the visa application process a lot smoother.
Travel Visa Basics
It is important to understand that a travel visa stamped in your passport is not a guarantee that you will be allowed to enter your destination country. The visa is merely permission to travel to a port of entry. It is at this port of entry that an agent will examine your documents and determine whether you will enter the country or not.
Travel visas are granted according to your purpose of travel. The most common types are tourist and business visas. Other visas that are usually available include the transit visa, work visa, study visa, crew visa and resident visa.
Visas are not a requirement of every foreign country. In fact, there are a lot of destinations that U.S. citizens can visit without the need to obtain a visa.
Travel Visa Processing
Visa processing is an important service provided by the consulate section of an embassy or by the consulate general of a country. It is important to follow the requirements exactly as given so that you avoid delays in the process or, even, the rejection of your application.
The first decision you need to make when applying for a visa concerns the type of visa you will need. Next, you may be able to apply for a visa with a specific validity. This is especially true for business visas. For example, Russia allows you to choose between a business visa that has 1–3 months validity and one that has 3–12 months validity. Following this, you need to choose the number of entries you want your visa to allow. Possibilities include a single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry. Not every country offers this option but many do.
Most visa applications are short, requesting only basic personal and travel information. Application forms can usually be downloaded in PDF format from the embassy or consulate website. However, more and more countries are exchanging the printed form for an electronic application that is submitted immediately after completion. In fact, some countries such as Brazil no longer accept printed applications.
Processing times vary depending on the type of visa and destination. Most consulates process tourist and business visa applications within two weeks to a few days. Expedited visa service, when it is available, can be accomplished as quickly as the same day or next day. Work, study and resident visas usually take quite a bit longer to process.
Some consular services still accept applications that are sent by mail but this is changing. More and more countries are requiring that applications be delivered in person. If you are unable to submit your application personally, consulates allow you to authorize a third party to do this for you. This person can be a friend, relative or travel agent. When none of these are available, you can contract a private visa expediter.
Visa Expediting Service
There are three advantages to using a visa expediter. One, you don’t have to go to the consulate general yourself. Depending on where you live in relation to the consulate, this could save you quite a bit of time which you could use to prepare for your trip.
Two, the expediter can look over your application and documentation to verify that the information is correct. If necessary, corrections could be made before it is delivered to the consulate. Finally, a visa expediting service can, more often than not, get your application processed more quickly.
A disadvantage to using an expediter is that they charge an additional fee beyond that which you will pay the consulate to process your visa application. The amount is usually not very much and could very well be a worthy investment if you consider the advantages listed above.
Visit U.S. Passport Service Guide for requirements, instructions and tips for expediting American passports as quickly as the same day.

How to Get Express China Visa Service
There are two ways to get express China visa service. Either you apply in person or you find someone who can submit the application for you. Either way, you can have your China visa application processed as quickly as the same day if you submit the required documents and pay the appropriate fees.
There are several types of China travel visas and each one has specific requirements. However, they all have the following three requirements in common: a completed visa application form, a valid United States passport with at least six months of validity remaining after the intended date of your arrival to China, and one passport-style photo that is 2X2 inches in size.
The three Chinese visa requirements listed above are all that is needed to obtain a Chinese tourist visa. For a business visa, applicants also need to submit a Visa Notification issued by an authorized Chinese unit, a business letter describing the nature of your business and duration of stay, and a letter of invitation from a Chinese company addressed to the Chinese embassy and written on official company letterhead. Applicants for a crew visa must submit a copy of their Crew Member Badge ID and a flight or vessel crew visa cover letter issued by the airline or shipping company in addition to the three basic requirements.
The visa fee for United States citizens is $130. It can be paid by credit card, money order, cashier’s check, company check or cash. Personal checks are not accepted. Regular processing time is 4 business days. For an additional fee of $20, you can have your China visa application processed in 2–3 business days. And you can have the application processed in only 1 business day if you pay an extra $30. You can even receive your visa on the same day if the application is submitted before 12:30 p.m.
The Chinese consulate services require that applicants either appear in person or send their application with someone who is authorized to represent them. This can be a family member, friend, travel agent or private visa expediter. Travel agents usually charge an extra fee for this service as do visa expediters. The amount of the fee depends on how quickly you want your China visa application to be processed. It can be as little as $39 or as much as $169 for same day expediting service.
If you need to request express China visa service, it usually means that you are pressed for time. While personally submitting the visa application could save you some money, it is not always possible in such situations, especially if you live far from any Chinese consulate. Besides the consulate section of the Chinese embassy in DC, there are Chinese consulates located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, New York and Chicago.
One option is to see if you can get a connecting flight through one of the cities where a Chinese consulate is located. You can then request a one-day layover which would allow you the necessary time to personally submit the applications. Of course, you would have to make sure that the layover did not fall on a weekend or a holiday for which the consulate would be closed.
However, if you think attempting to squeeze in this process in a one-day layover is too big a risk and you do not have a relative or friend who can do it for you, then a private visa expediter may be your best option. While there is the disadvantage of the additional fee, there is the advantage of having an experienced professional submit your application and free you up to spend your time making other preparations. And when you are in a hurry, time is one of your most valuable assets.

Thriller Books
Thrill we live, thrill we enjoy! For years now, we have been great fans of thriller books that pervade through our psyches and exert an ever lasting impression - at least for some of us! Excitement to the max is all what we enjoy reading the thriller books. We enter into a virtual world where things seem spookier and we are laden with aghast. But it's not always necessary that thriller books should deal with super naturals? Then what makes the thriller books thrilling? Non-stop action, precarious situations, hair-raising suspense, and heroic characters all exemplify the best thrillers in the market. But how can you be sure the book you choose is electrifying, not exasperating?

4 Holiday Marketing Ideas for Automotive Dealerships
The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are hugely important to annual sales in many industries, including automotive sales. Potential customers are out shopping in stronger numbers than the rest of the year, giving car dealerships a larger audience to market to. Holiday shopping crowds are also in "buying mode", ready to purchase items not only for friends and family, but often for themselves as well. Shoppers with extra available holiday capital are more easily persuaded to treat themselves to a new car than they are during other times of the year. Whether customers' new car purchases are a special indulgence just for them or a perfect gift for the whole family, the holiday shopping season is a ripe opportunity for automotive dealerships to boost sales.
In order to capitalize on the holiday shopping season, your auto dealership needs to have a solid marketing plan! Thanksgiving and Christmas offer plenty of fun, fresh ways to promote vehicles and special offers, so get creative. The more unique your marketing strategies are, the more successful they are likely to be.
These four holiday marketing ideas are great ways to kickstart your auto dealership's season of holiday sales.
1) Get festive! Show your dealership's holiday spirit by making your show floor and lot bright, inviting and festive. Nothing draws the eye like bright Christmas decorations. Buy a 20' Douglas Fir, place it in the center of your outdoor lot and decorate it with bright white lights, tinsel and decorations. Hang fresh garlands, red bows and lights from building eaves and light poles. Serve hot chocolate on the show floor. Unless you have a talented person already on staff who is willing and able to completely deck out the rest of your dealership's exterior and interior, hire a decorator to come and do so. Show potential customers your dealership is in the holiday spirit and make your show floor irresistible with holiday cheer.
2) Offer a "12 days of Christmas" holiday sale. Everyone loves a great deal - so why not package 12 fantastic vehicle deals into a Christmas-themed event? Rather than having an unrelated string of holiday sales events, run a 12 Days of Christmas sale, with easy day offering a different type of sale. Start on smaller incentives and older vehicle models and work your way up to the "twelfth day of Christmas" with larger deals, ending with a grand finale!
3) Be creative with holiday-themed direct mail. Christmas is no time to send out the same old stock postcard mailers. Send your direct mail list a little holiday cheer with authentic-looking Christmas cards or present-shaped cards, complete with bow. Throw in some "dealership cash" to send an extra merry message.
4) Run a social media contest. Offer a contest for a significant % off, or a door prize giveaway (if your applicant pool is large enough for it). Ask people to connect with you in a specific way: have them finish the phrase "all I want for Christmas" in a photo, tweet or video, then ask them to post their response either on your dealership's Facebook wall or tweet it to you using a specific hashtag. Whatever your contest entails, be sure to create a specific landing page on your website (or Facebook event) that outlines the details of the contest - link to this from your social media accounts

INCEPTION by Bababowale Adeyeye
African art is a terrific blend of visual imagery, spiritual beliefs and social purpose. The ancient African art mainly represented the religious beliefs and cultural ideas through the various artifacts, namely masks and figures. Apart from masks and figures that were used in religious ceremonies, these beliefs and ideas also found artistic expression in a number of utilitarian objects and tools of everyday life. The ancient art forms were extremely traditional in nature and they formed the major part of the African society. One of the earliest artforms of African culture were terracotta statuettes that were found in the Nok culture of Nigeria, around 500 B.C.
Ancient African art comprises of contributions from a variety of tribes all over Africa. These tribes created different art forms, unique and peculiar to the tribe. There is immense diversity in the African art culture and the artifacts, native southern arts and a variety of existent cultural art forms from the western tribes, have contributed to African art in a big way. Most of the art forms depicted the abundance of surrounding nature and abstract interpretations of animals and plant life. Some of them flaunted primitive designs and shapes. It is observed that the sculpture in wood is intricate and time defying. Most of the ancient sculptures were made of wood and other materials, such as terracotta, mud, beadwork, ivory, metal and stone. These sculptures mostly had humans as their main subjects.
A vast collection of ancient African art can be found in a number of museums all over the world. The art mainly consisted of artforms with human and animal subjects and depicted the positive and negative aspects of human behavior. The history of African art also proves the importance of religion and religious practices in the African culture and people.

Does African Art Have a History?
Art history is said to be the study of the past, particularly how it relates to humans. The term is universally applied to past events of individuals, cultures and associations. It unravels the genesis or etymology of the things in existence today. The term ‘history’ is from the Greek word, ‘historia’ meaning “inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation” (Munslow, 2001). Thus, it is the thorough investigation and search of our past which results in the acquisition of the knowledge of the past or the origin of things. The learning of our history is very important. Learning of the past has the potential of improving the life of man today and in the future.
However, it is sad to know that a poor documentation usually result in ambiguity and even loss of the wonderful storehouse of knowledge of the past. Prior to the advent of writing, history was preserved orally and passed on from parents to their wards resulting in oral historical tradition. The age of writing has witnessed the recordings of our past oral historical tradition. Long before the recording of events the colorful African art history has already been growing, reshaping itself with the passing of time. Depicting the various and elaborate societies and empires, the history of African art illustrates the vibrant cultures and traditions each group has nurtured with each successive generation.
There have been several distortions in the written histories. Such is the largely the case of the documentation of African art history. This is making some people even those in the academia to assert that African art has no history. But can this assertion be true? Certainly that cannot be. African art has a history since every human endeavor has its Genesis. African art is mostly used to refer to the Sub-Saharan arts excluding the arts of the North African areas along the Mediterranean coast. The arts of the North Africans are normally classified along with Islamic art by some scholars. This is very unfortunate and wrong because a critical analysis of the arts of Northern Africa such as Egypt and others reveals different formal values and principles which are not characteristics of the Islamic art forms. The author opines and redefines African Art as the ingenuity and creative innovations of Africans in the various forms of arts which mostly have African traditional cultural elements and values.
The origins of African art can be traced in a longer time span even before recorded history. African rock art in the Sahara in Niger alone preserves wood carvings that are more than six thousand (6000) years. Also, the paintings and artifacts of the Egyptians, and indigenous southern crafts which have greatly contributed to African art find their places in the ancient times. Artworks in Africa were often depicted in abstract forms of animals, plant life, or natural designs and shapes.
In West Africa, the earliest known sculptures are from the Nok culture which thrived between 500 BC and 500 AD in modern Nigeria, with clay terracotta figures typically with elongated bodies and angular shapes. It is known today that very complex production techniques of art were developed in sub-Saharan Africa around the 10th century. This includes the mastery productions of bronze works of the Igbo Ukwu as well as the terracottas and metal works of Ile-Ife which was ornamented with ivory and precious stones are examples of the proud artistic heritage of Africans.
We cannot dissuade these wonderful historic accounts of which we have visual proofs of the works and blatantly say that African Art has no history. It has not just a history but a rich, colourful and long standing artistic cultural history.
The study of art history is largely divided into two by art historians. These include studying the history in thematic fashion or in timelines. The thematic elements approach to the study of African art includes looking at the history in the light of some themes or topics. Some of the themes as sculpture of Africa, Adinkra cloth production by Ghanaians etc. Others include materials for production, countries, etc. The author want to take affirm that there are histories of some of the visual artforms such as Adinkra cloth, Kente, wood carvings and goldweights produced among the Asante ethnic society in Ghana.
African art has a long standing history which must be acknowledged. As Art historians, art critics and authors, we have to write and record the wonderful creations of Africa. There is the urgent need now for art critics and historians in Africa and Ghana especially to record the extraordinary works of art of today’s contemporary African artists to make them available for our forebears. Adulteration of our historical traditions would gradually mar our identity as a people. African art has a history and we have to preserve, promote and transmit this historical heritage. If art educators, curriculum planners etc. make the teaching of our rich cultural African art tradition a priority, we will be able to propagate our rich African art tradition and lavishly paint it on the world’s largest canvas of art history.
10 Things You Never Guessed About African Art
African Art — not always Black art: The past few years have changed the way African art and handicrafts are perceived. Until recently, art from the African continent was not considered African art unless it originated with Black Africans.
In fact, it comes from all over Africa: Well you might think you guessed that. But most of us in the West (and indeed the art world) traditionally ignored the fact that non-Black North African art, Egyptian art and art from the horn area were also being produced on the continent.
South and Southern African art is also increasingly in popularity as it becomes cheaper to ship. So, historians and art experts are now trying to put African art in a different light. African art has now been re-defined as any art made on the African continent to reflect the diversity of the people of Africa.
African Art: Not Art for Art’s Sake — African art and handicrafts are looked at by non-Africans solely as wonderful works of art. However, Africans traditionally did not set out to create a piece of art but rather they created an item for a purpose. The purpose could be anything including utilitarian, religious, symbolic or celebratory. Today, African artists not only create for traditional reasons but for the world market.
Picasso’s real inspiration: Now get ready for some real surprises. When the Europeans first encountered African art, they termed it primitive.
Little did the Europeans understand that African masks were very important to African culture and tradition; even as late as the mid-1900s art critics berated African artists for mimicking Picasso and other modern artists. Later it became known that quite to the contrary, it was Picasso who was inspired by African art. African art has simply not been given the respect and credit it was due to it!
“The Mask”: it’s Real! Most prized of all African art treasures are African masks. These wonderful masks were made by cultures all over Africa.
Today, they continue to be made for both ceremonial reasons and for the market. Many masks hang in museums around the world. Here we can see masks that portray spirits of animals and departed ancestors. Masks were believed to endow the wearer with special powers. The mask was only a part of the costume worn by the trained performer for ceremonies that would have been elaborately choreographed to vibrant music and stylized dances. Mask ceremonies were one way the tribe passed on religious, moral and social values for the community.
Female Fertility: It’s for Men too — The Nimba Mask: One of most fascinating, ironic masks is the Baga tribal Nimba mask of female fertility. This is a truly massive mask representing life giving fertility with the pendulous flat breasts represent nurturing motherhood that has suckled many children. The Nimba represents the Baga idea of the perfect woman with braided hair and decorative scarification on her face. The Nimba mask is worn at rice planting and harvest time when ironically, MEN compete to wear the mask.
The Supernatural power to pull a good joke! The Goli Kplekple Mask: Masks are not all serious, some represent jokester spirits. The Goli Kplekple mask is worn by male dancers of junior rank in the Goli spirit dance. As junior dancers are of low status compared to those who wear important masks, this mask is a simple disc shape with little or no ornamentation. The wearer of the Goli Kplekple mask is allowed to chase the young village women around in play.
Art diverse as the world around us: African handicrafts run the gamut from textiles, woven baskets and terra cotta sculpture to wood carvings and wood sculpture plus a wide array of items for everyday use. Africans in general have had to “make do” with whatever was available to them and they have excelled at making what they need with these available materials. Long considered by Africans to be functional or ceremonial, the rest of the world hails their work purely as art.
Africa’s Art: modern and made today African art isn’t just about tribal ceremony. In fact, as in all art, there are artists producing poignant political critiques on current events, and there are artists producing gorgeous functional accessories. In the realm of handicrafts, a personal favorite is an African entry into bathroom decor. Two elephants stand facing each other with trunks extended to hold the roll of paper.
Made of recycled metal, these particular handicraft are particularly symbolic of Africa’s reinvigoration and vitality in taking its cultures into the modern age.

Quick Coins ATMs
As bitcoin is the brand new currency that has recently come forward, many people are not actually aware of what it is and how it can be useful. It is similar to the US Dollar, Peso, and even Euro but the only difference is that a single government or a single company cannot control it.
Bitcoin is a decentralized peer to peer currency. It is connected to the computer of every individual working with it. In short, it is digital currency and there is no need of a central bank for performing transactions using this currency. It has now become a hot commodity among the spectators. The transactions using digital currencies happen instantly and there is no transaction fee involved. The best part is that nobody can manipulate the bitcoin network.
If you are interested in digital currencies then you must know how to buy bitcoins too. Some people say that it is really difficult to deal with bitcoins but the truth is that getting bitcoins is very easy. It is even easier than opening a bank account.
If you want to know how to buy bitcoins, you will have to start learning how to use the wallet software. Then you will have to learn how to send and receive money so that you can actually buy bitcoins. First of all, you will need a wallet. You can do this by registering yourself with any exchange that hosts a wallet. When you will get into the exchanges, you will need more wallets. You should have one at your own PC too in order to understand bitcoins because some experimental exchanges will be involved. If you want to keep your money safe, it is best to keep on moving it by exchanging coins.
The most common method of buying bitcoins is to buy them from an exchange. There are plenty of websites available today that facilitate in the purchase of digital currencies. These exchanges do not actually sell the bitcoins themselves. They pair a buyer with a bitcoin seller. These exchanges ask the user to provide some personal information before the exchange can actually take place.
Another way to acquire bitcoins is to mine them. Every bitcoin that exists today was once mined through the Bitcoin Mining Network. However, mining can be extremely risky. It’s difficulty increases with time and it becomes almost impossible for a user to gain profits.
That’s not all; you can buy digital currency from a private broker too. You can enter into an exchange with the broker to get bitcoins but this comes with some drawbacks. The exchange is going to be anonymous. You don’t even know any real details about the broker except for his wallet number but you still have to transfer funds in order to make the exchange happen. There is a risk of getting ripped off if the bitcoin exchanges disappear. That will make you lose your bitcoins too.
In short, bitcoins can help you earn money and for this, you just need to know the right time to make the exchange.

The Global OTC Marketplace — We’re All in This Together!
The financial crisis that we have all just weathered was not limited to the UK. It was, without a doubt, global. It highlighted the risks associated with less-regulated markets, and regulatory responses required. The issues, both local and global are now being addressed with commitments and recommendations from across the industry. The biggest challenge that the industry faces, however, is in trying to develop workable, local solutions that are equally as satisfying for the domestic marketplace as for the international one. OTC derivatives and commodity contracts are valuable, and in some instances, necessary risk transfer tools. They allow important innovation in product design, provide for the commencement and evolution of emerging markets and enable customized solutions for the particular hedging needs of the market. For change to be successful, it is vital that all participants recognize the role of OTC markets in the global economy — but note the similarities and differences between OTC and exchange-traded markets.
When considering the potential changes, it is crucial to remember that there can be huge variations between what will work locally for clearing houses and trade information warehouses and what might apply to international market participants outside of the UK. Those solutions designed to meet the objectives and commitments of their respective marketplace with respect to the improvement of OTC derivatives, must be taken on board.
Cooperation and mutual respect will ensure that market participants are able to thrive in this new environment. The challenges facing this new era of the OTC marketplace are demanding for everyone. The processing of corporate actions, as well as Central Counterparty clearing (CCP) have an important role to play in managing risk, enhancing transparency and protecting market integrity against abuse.
The global financial crisis has prompted a coordinated and concerted response from international organizations, governments and regulatory agencies. Most significant among these is the commitment of the G20 governments to implement policies to ensure recovery, to repair our financial systems and to maintain the global flow of capital. As part of these commitments, the G20 has underlined the importance of addressing issues arising from OTC derivatives markets. They have mandated that “… All standardized OTC derivative contracts should be traded on exchanges or electronic trading platforms, where appropriate, and cleared through central counterparties… “ There is a commitment to having this in place by the end of 2012, so it is now essential that these functions, currently exercised by local service providers under the supervision of local regulators, be accompanied by links between local and international providers in order to address the needs of international markets.
With CCP clearing and exchange trading being mandated for many markets, any talk surrounding increased regulation must include the right combination of standardisation, liquidity and user characteristics in order to be of value. The success of government bond futures, index futures, equity and ETF options demonstrate products and markets that have adapted well to the standardised rules and requirements of exchange trading.
That being said, a “one-size fits all” response will not be appropriate for all of these markets. OTC and listed derivatives have worked very well together through healthy growth in both markets, but that does not mean that every derivative contract is ready to move to on-exchange trading. The huge range of OTC markets will always be diverse and for this reason it is necessary to determine which markets can be effectively migrated to trading on a regulated exchange/CCP clearing, and which markets will be subject to trade reporting and/or higher capital requirements.
OTC markets are complex and quite often diverse. If there is to be a successful migration of OTC markets to an exchange or electronic trading platform and CCP clearing, then a full review of the OTC products in the global marketplace is the only sure way to ensure which products are exchange traded and which should be exempt.
As with any new rules and regulations, there will be exceptions. In the commodity and energy markets, for example, the capital requirements necessary for users who engage in transactions as a necessary part of hedging price risk for a primary business related to producing commodities will invariably be too onerous. In cases such as this, exemptions should be made available. But they must be regularly reviewed to ensure compliance wherever possible.
There is a high degree of standardization required for both the exchange-traded and OTC markets. Factors surrounding the size and maturity of futures contracts must be reviewed and the overall economies of scale of the level of trading of OTC products need to be gauged in order to ensure that they are achievable. In addition, the market variables affecting valuation need to be transparent and readily observable.
In conclusion, there is widespread support for international efforts to strengthen the regulation of OTC derivatives activity, enhance transparency, and improve risk management subject to appropriate exemptions for select products or groups of participants.
We know that exchange trading and central counterparty clearing have an important role to play in enhancing transparency, managing risk, protecting market integrity, defending against abuse, and in mitigating risk. The challenges are, at times, daunting, however, in this global marketplace, if we are to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, now is the time to embrace change, accept that there will always be exceptions and devise a mutually acceptable format that allows everyone to move forward together.
Thinking of Investing? Think the Bitcoin Way
What is Bitcoin?
If you’re here, you’ve heard of Bitcoin. It has been one of the biggest frequent news headlines over the last year or so — as a get rich quick scheme, the end of finance, the birth of truly international currency, as the end of the world, or as a technology that has improved the world. But what is Bitcoin?
In short, you could say Bitcoin is the first decentralised system of money used for online transactions, but it will probably be useful to dig a bit deeper.
We all know, in general, what ‘money’ is and what it is used for. The most significant issue that witnessed in money use before Bitcoin relates to it being centralised and controlled by a single entity — the centralised banking system. Bitcoin was invented in 2008/2009 by an unknown creator who goes by the pseudonym ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ to bring decentralisation to money on a global scale. The idea is that the currency can be traded across international lines with no difficulty or fees, the checks and balances would be distributed across the entire globe (rather than just on the ledgers of private corporations or governments), and money would become more democratic and equally accessible to all.
How did Bitcoin start?
The concept of Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency in general, was started in 2009 by Satoshi, an unknown researcher. The reason for its invention was to solve the issue of centralisation in the use of money which relied on banks and computers, an issue that many computer scientists weren’t happy with. Achieving decentralisation has been attempted since the late 90s without success, so when Satoshi published a paper in 2008 providing a solution, it was overwhelmingly welcomed. Today, Bitcoin has become a familiar currency for internet users and has given rise to thousands of ‘altcoins’ (non-Bitcoin cryptocurrencies).
How is Bitcoin made?
Bitcoin is made through a process called mining. Just like paper money is made through printing, and gold is mined from the ground, Bitcoin is created by ‘mining’. Mining involves solving of complex mathematical problems regarding blocks using computers and adding them to a public ledger. When it began, a simple CPU (like that in your home computer) was all one needed to mine, however, the level of difficulty has increased significantly and now you will need specialised hardware, including high end Graphics Processing Unit (GPUs), to extract Bitcoin.
How do I invest?
First, you have to open an account with a trading platform and create a wallet; you can find some examples by searching Google for ‘Bitcoin trading platform’ — they generally have names involving ‘coin’, or ‘market’. After joining one of these platforms, you click on the assets, and then click on crypto to choose your desired currencies. There are a lot of indicators on every platform that are quite important, and you should be sure to observe them before investing.
Simply buy and hold
While mining is the surest and, in a way, simplest way to earn Bitcoin, there is too much hustle involved, and the cost of electricity and specialised computer hardware makes it inaccessible to most of us. To avoid all this, make it easy for yourself, directly input the amount you want from your bank and click “buy’, then sit back and watch as your investment increases according to the price change. This is called exchanging and takes place on many exchanges platforms available today, with the ability to trade between many different fiat currencies (USD, AUD, GBP, etc) and different crypto coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc).
Trading Bitcoin
If you are familiar with stocks, bonds, or Forex exchanges, then you will understand crypto-trading easily. There are Bitcoin brokers like e-social trading, FXTM markets.com, and many others that you can choose from. The platforms provide you with Bitcoin-fiat or fiat-Bitcoin currency pairs, example BTC-USD means trading Bitcoins for U.S. Dollars. Keep your eyes on the price changes to find the perfect pair according to price changes; the platforms provide price among other indicators to give you proper trading tips.
Bitcoin as Shares
There are also organisations set up to allow you to buy shares in companies that invest in Bitcoin — these companies do the back and forth trading, and you just invest in them, and wait for your monthly benefits. These companies simply pool digital money from different investors and invest on their behalf.
Why should you invest in Bitcoin?
As you can see, investing in Bitcoin demands that you have some basic knowledge of the currency, as explained above. As with all investments, it involves risk! The question of whether or not to invest depends entirely on the individual. However, if I were to give advice, I would advise in favor of investing in Bitcoin with a reason that, Bitcoin keeps growing — although there has been one significant boom and bust period, it is highly likely that Cryptocurrencies as a whole will continue to increase in value over the next 10 years. Bitcoin is the biggest, and most well known, of all the current cryptocurrencies, so is a good place to start, and the safest bet, currently. Although volatile in the short term, I suspect you will find that Bitcoin trading is more profitable than most other ventures.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
