Hey Fanimorphs! It's #femslashmorphs time!
Joining in with the panfandom event, this month’s theme is Femslash February! Every pairing is acceptable, though it’s preferred you not rule 63 characters. This month is about appreciation for the canon ladies! Nonbinary-interpreted characters are totally okay though!
I want to see art, fic, meta, playlists, ANYTHING YOU CAN DO. We had a nice break in January, let’s make February utterly fantastic to make up for that!
What To Tag: Remember, only the first five tags show up, so make sure you tag these first! #femslashmorphs #femslash february The first so that this blog can reblog everything that’s done for this month’s theme, the second so we, as a small and old fandom, can show that we’re still very much alive, and participating in fandom events.
LET’S SEE SOME SMOOCHING GIRLS, HUMAN AND OTHERWISE!!!
LETS DO IT!

Five Reasons Why Eva is my Favorite Minor Character in Animorphs
/RIPS OFF SHIRT
/BURSTS IN THROUGH YOUR WALL LIKE THE KOOL-AID MAN
SIT BACK AND LET ME TELL YOU THE GOSPEL OF MARCO’S MOTHER EVA, A WOC HEROINE WHO IS MY FAVE AND SHOULD BE YOUR FAVE TOO
1. She’s tough as nails.
Eva was host to Visser One, one of the most cunning, ruthless Yeerks, and by far the best-versed in human nature, for years. Yet the Eva we see in Visser and onward is not the sobbing, broken person that Tom became after a year with Temrash 114.
"Anyway, one day I woke up in the middle of the night. Your mom was sitting up in bed, wide awake. I knew she’d had a bad dream or something. But it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It was just…" He shook his head. "It was so strange. She sounded like she was trapped in a deep well, and trying to call out to me."
There were tears in my eyes. I hoped my father wouldn’t notice.
”She said, ‘They won’t take you if you stay away from the military.’ It didn’t make any sense. But the way she said it… like it was the hardest thing she’d ever said … like it was the most important thing she’d ever said.”
I had some idea just how hard it had been for my mother to say that. Sometimes, when there is some terrible need, the human being crushed beneath the Yeerk can force its way out. It can seize control for a few desperate seconds. They say the price the human host pays is terrible. The Yeerk has mental tortures it can carry on for weeks. My mother, my real mother, had struck when the Yeerk was distracted, and for a few seconds regained control.
– #10: The Android
Eva not only fought off Visser One for a precious moment, but she used that moment to give Peter the greatest gift she could: the key to stay free of the enslavement she suffered. As we see in Visser, Eva tries to sabotage Visser One whenever she can, and can even succeed.
There it was. Was it time to reveal what I knew of the so-called Andalite bandits? Would it ever be time?
<Go ahead, tell him.> Eva jeered inside my head. <Let Visser Three take all the glory for wiping out the “Andalite bandits.”>
– Visser
Do you see what she did here? When there was a risk Visser One might give away her son’s secret, Eva taunted the Visser into staying silent. She knows exactly how to manipulate her Yeerk.

Familymorphs
This was a kinda word barf headcanon thing of stuff I thought of after the war if Rachel lived and all the animorphs moved in together. It’s similar to demenior and nein-lives cuddle house series, and I probably drew on that for unintentional inspiration.
So, I was thinking about the animorphs after the war getting a house together. Imagine Jake and Cassie getting up early to cook breakfast for everyone, and imagine them falling into each others arms after particularly bad days at their respective jobs, no words needed as they comfort each other, and if the days were particularly horrid, they cook dinner together as stress relief. Imagine all the animorphs having separate bedrooms, and the first morning that Cassie walks out of Jakes instead of her own the rest of the group starts applauding and cheering making Cassie blush and Jake start sputtering as he comes to check what’s going on in just his boxers. Imagine Tobias doing purely mundane stuff around the house with Rachel in human morph, getting more used to his human body with no chance of going over that time limit and getting stuck. Imagine his human and hawk body getting mostly second nature to him and then he spends some time each day with Ax, tail fighting, and just running in his andalite form, all three of his heritages eventually coming to him all with equal ease. Imagine Rachels room with hawks perches all over the room, and the first time Tobias is in the room when she’s preparing to change she just tells him quietly that he can stay if he wants, that it’s no big deal. Imagine on bad days at whatever Rachel does she comes home grouchy but after a few hours with Tobias she feels better. On the really bad days she holes up in her room and the only two peoples allowed in are Cassie and Tobias. Cassie listens to her talk about whatevers bothering her, and talks her through it. Tobias is the opposite, he won’t let Rachel wallow in whatevers eating her up, and he knows the solution every time, whether it’s a kiss as he pulls the cover away and holds her in his arms, or going flying, or whether the solution involves blindfolds and handcuffs because Rachel doesn’t want to feel in control, Tobias always knows the solution. Imagine Marco and Ax getting closer and closer through their time living together, Ax picking up the more nuanced humor, Marco coming more to grips with his sexuality. Imagine Ax making a small hologram projector for his birthday and getting all of Marco’s friends and family to put small videos and reminders that they love and care for Marco on there. Imagine Marco getting chocked up by the gift and secretly learning how to make homemade cinnamon buns and making them for Ax for the next month, Jake and Cassie think his romancing is a little weird, but cute nonetheless. Imagine Marco and Jake playing video games like they’re kids again on the days they both have off. Imagine everyone making gigantic cuddle piles and watching movies together. Imagine them all shopping for furniture together, Cassie and Jake going for the really functional stuff while Rachel and Marco agree on the super extravagant stuff. Ax just wants stuff where he can fit around it, and Tobias doesn’t care as long as he has a perch. Imagine Cassie and Rachel shopping for clothes together for big presentations or whatever for their jobs. Imagine Cassie and Rachel shopping for wedding dresses. Imagine Jake and Ax bonding over losing a brother, and for a long time Ax has to subtly check in on Jake throughout the day. Imagine Tobias trying to make a birthday cake for Rachel the first year and just botching it terribly, he calls Naomi for help and she comes over and shows him what he’s doing wrong, and for a little bit Tobias knows what it’s like to have a mother, Loren tries, but she’s dealing with a teenager and never got through the awkward kids stage. Imagine Naomi and Loren bonding when all the animorphs invite them over for dinner, and Naomi setting Loren up on blind dates with some of her colleagues. Imagine Loren only liking the super nerdy ones. Imagine Jake and Rachel arguing over the remote control for the TV until Cassie comes in, calmly plops onto Jakes lap, giving him a quick kiss, and plucks the remote out of a stunned Rachels hands, smiling brightly the entire time. Imagine the shocked look on everyones face, including Jakes, when Cassie announces that she won’t be morphing for about 10 more months, and imagine the truly gobsmacked look on Jake’s face when she admits it’s because she’s pregnant. Imagine the tears from everyone when Cassie and Jake agree on Tomas Elfangor Berenson for the childs name. Jake cries when the baby first calls him dada, a lot. Marco always takes care of Tom when Jake and Cassie have to work. He takes him to the park or to the mall. He claims it’s to pick up chicks but Ax is always with him, strictly to help supervise of course.

And The Tables Turn
Some of you may have read this before because I posted it on FFN a long time ago.
And the Tables Turn
Steve knew that it wasn’t his lucky night as soon as he opened the door when the doorbell rang. After all, having your former best friend punch you in the face had never been declared an omen of good luck.
It wasn’t a clean hit, mind you. It wasn’t hard enough to break his nose, and it was sloppy due to the fact that Peter wasn’t exactly sober. He had a beer can in his right hand, so he didn’t even punch him with his good hand. Steve staggered back more from shock than from pain.
"You… You asshole!" Peter stumbled and jabbed a finger in Steve’s direction. His eyes were red and puffy like if he’d been crying. "It’s all your damn fault!" He let out a sob.
Steve stayed back. He had the urge to comfort his (ex?) friend, but didn’t really feel like getting punched again. Besides, he didn’t even know what he’d done wrong.
"What’s wrong?" he asked and almost let out a bitter laugh when the words came out. Stupid question.
What wasn’t wrong? Ever since his oldest son died three years ago… He shook his head. No. That was wrong. Things were wrong since his oldest son became a Controller. Since his currently-missing youngest son touched that blue cube. He’d been missing for a week now. He wasn’t too worried at first, but then news came up that Marco was also missing. His nervousness rose a bit, but not by much. He was always worried about Jake. This wasn’t the first time Jake went “missing”. One time he was gone for two straight weeks without showing his face to the world. He probably dragged Marco along to another of his escapades this time.
He looked at Peter. Well, maybe this time it was different.
"Cassie!" Peter shouted. Steve blinked. What did Cassie have to do with anything? Actually, Cassie would create problems with Jake not Marco. Before he could ask, Peter continued. "She told me… Your son dragged mine off to another suicide mission into space! They’re going to rescue their blue friend or something.”
Steve’s mind stopped working for about five seconds. “What?” he finally let out. Peter rolled his eyes. Steve noticed how he sounded more sober than he looked.
"What, are you deaf? I went to talk to Cassie today. I," he paused, "I very politely asked to know where my son was. She said he, the bird, and Commander Jake had taken off into space to rescue their little blue horse friend from God-knows-where.”
Steve walked to his couch and sat down very quickly. He took a deep breath. “But they’ll be back, right? They’ll be fine. They’re the Animorphs.” He wasn’t reassured. Jake was… depressed after the war. But he wouldn’t… He wouldn’t… Not and drag Marco along. Or Tobias. He wouldn’t kill them, too.
Peter laughed. It wasn’t a pretty sound.
"What part of ‘suicidal mission’ don’t you understand? Spaceship go broom broom, Marco go bye bye. Or most likely, bad spaceship go tseew tseew, Marco go bye bye." It sounded like he wanted to cry. Steve looked up.
"And Cassie told you this?"
"She didn’t have to. Her silence made it clear that they weren’t coming back."
Steve groaned and buried his face in his hands. No. Not again. Not again. He didn’t think he could stand losing another son. But he was already lost, his head told him. He was never the same again. But no. He was alive. And while there was life there was hope. His wife had told him that when they were locked up in the Yeerk Pool’s cages. She was right. Part of him felt bad for writing Jake off so easily. But if what Peter said was true… And both at the age of nineteen.
There was some seriously sick humor about that, and he found himself hating that number. It was almost as bad as the number three. The war raged on for three years. His son was a Controller for three years. Three out of four members of their families became Controllers. Multiply three and two and you get six Animorphs. Only three Animorphs prospered after the war (Ax, Marco, and Cassie). Three Animorphs were emotionally or physically destroyed (Jake, Tobias, and Rachel). They were thirteen when they became soldiers, and 13 ended in three. And now, three years between both of his sons’… partings.
But no. No. Jake was… Jake. He didn’t die. How dare he give up on his son so easily?
"No," he whispered.
"What was that?" Peter asked, holding up his hand to his ear.
"No," Steve said louder. "They’ll be back. Jake… Jake wouldn’t let them die. My son will bring them back." He sounded more confident than he felt.
The other man laughed. “My gosh, when did you two trade places? You sound like a scared little kid saying that his dad will protect him. Open your eyes, Steve. Your son is nothing but a murderer. He ordered the death of his own brother. He sent his cousin to her death. He dragged my son off to another battle for what? To feel the adrenalin rush again? To cover the guilt by saving the Andalite? To feel like a hero again? A coward, really. Drag off more people to be killed for his own, selfish-” Steve slammed him against the wall and had his arm at his friend’s throat in an instant. The can of beer fell and spilled all over their shoes. Screw being a pacifist.
Peter sneered. “What’s the matter? Can’t handle the truth?” His breath reeked of alcohol. Steve was tempted to punch him right there and then. He wanted it. To hear Peter’s cry of pain and hear his nose break. He had the upper hand. The other man was drunk. He could easily win a fight. But that sounded so childish. Their sons were in some unknown part of space, and they were fighting like stupid teenagers. Jake would never… He almost laughed. God, was Peter right? WWJD? When did that turn out to mean ‘What Would Jake Do’? Was this how the Animorphs felt around his son?
But he knew what Jake would do. Or at least, the post war Jake. He would give him an empty stare, and then lock himself in his room. Same as always. He removed his arm from Peter’s throat. He took a deep breath to calm himself down, and talked very slowly.
"If Marco went, it’s because he wanted to. Nobody forced him to. Tell me, was Marco fully satisfied with life after the war? Don’t you think that fighting for his life for three years made regular life, even a celebrities’ life, boring by comparison? Don’t you think he was seeking an adrenalin rush, too?"
By the look on his face it was clear that he hadn’t thought of that. He shoved Steve aside and walked to the couch. Three seconds later the TV turned on. Steve crouched down to pick up the fallen beer can. He needed to clean this up before his wife arrived. He’d told her to go out with her friends. She needed to get out and relax for a while. He doubted she’d do the latter, but at least she was outside of the house. He said he’d call her if Jake arrived. Obviously that wasn’t happening any time soon.
A few minutes later he was sitting on the opposite side of the couch his former friend was sitting on. He honestly couldn’t remember what show was on. During one of the commercials, Peter spoke up.
"You know, I remember listening to them argue about whose Daddy was the strongest when they were little kids." He laughed bitterly. "When were the roles reversed?"

Drabble: "Bloodmouth"
Uncle Steve keeps looking at Rachel oddly over Passover seder. Afterward, Rachel pulls him aside. “You’ve got something to say?” “You’ve lost a lot of weight recently,” he says. “Since Saddler died. I’m a doctor, I can tell. Rachel, if you’re having issues about food, you can get help.” “It’s not that,” Rachel says. “I can’t eat anything with a face lately. Maybe Cassie’s gotten to me.” “Oh!” says Steve. “Then you just need to get more vegetable protein.” Rachel hates lying to him. But she isn’t, really. She can’t stand to see the blood welling up around her fork.

Drabble: "The Weakness"
One night, when it got to be too much, Rachel fled to Jake’s house. Aunt Jean answered the door. “What’s wrong, honey?” There were tears on Rachel’s face. She wiped them away angrily. “Mommy and Daddy are yelling and they don’t even know I exist.” Jean let her in. Rachel said, “I thought Mommy and Daddy loved each other.” “They do, sweetie,” Jean said. “But you can hurt the people you love. Sometimes you hurt them worse because you know them so well.” Rachel sniffled. She hoped Jake wasn’t home to hear her cry, to know how weak she was.

Drabble: "Never Came Home"
«Aximili-kala,» said Forlay, finger-combing oil through his fur, «why do you point your stalk-eyes to the sky?» His mother’s touch filled him with warmth. «I missed the colors. And… I still look for Tobias.» «Ah.» A pause. «And why do you have your tail poised like that? Aren’t you afraid you’ll hurt someone, if you always keep your tail ready to strike?» «Mother, I am very careful to hurt only those I mean to.» Aximili curved one stalk eye from the sky, and thought of all the beloved throats his blade had pressed against. «I have never failed,» he lied.

Thoughts about Ax's narration
I’ve been thinking a lot about what alliecat-person has said about the introductory narration in each book, and what that says about the character. In honor of #axattack I’d like to point out something interesting about Ax’s intros.
Ax’s first book is clearly intended for an Andalite audience. It starts with the action on the Dome ship, which the reader is assumed to understand. Then we get:
I am told that I look like a cross between a deer, a scorpion, and a human. I’ve seen deer in the woods, and I don’t agree. For one thing, they have mouths and I don’t. And they have only two eyes, while I have four.
Ax is explaining what a deer is, and how humans perceive him. This is not directed at humans, but other Andalites, even though it’s giving you the basic summary information.
His next book, #18, is also written for an Andalite audience. After giving his name, he begins:
I don’t know if my fellow Andalites will ever recognize that name. I guess some of the story I’m about to tell will appear in the scientific journals. I mean, the accident that occurred to me has certainly rewritten the science of Zero-space mass extrusion during morphing.
Definitely meant for Andalites. But #28 begins quite differently.

Animorphs, Team Finesse (Tobias, Marco, Ax), gen.
Tradition
The sound of hoofbeats made Marco look up from where he was rewiring the cable box. He looked between the trees and blinked, because he could have sworn that was two Andalites running by.
He sat up. “Ax? Please tell me you haven’t been secretly cloning yourself out here this whole time.”
