MSOM WELCOMES DAN LACIANO!

The Midcoast School of Music would like to welcome Dan Laciano to our Brass staff! Dan Laciano attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio on a music scholarship. Following his graduation, he spent 11 years teaching music in the public schools of Ohio. During 2004, he was presented with two distinguished awards: The Superintendent’s A+ Award, given to only five members of a school district serving 14,000 students, and the G.E.M (Great Educator and Mentor) Award as voted on by parents and students. Outside of teaching, Dan remained an active freelance trumpeter in Ohio. He held principal and lead positions with The Wittenberg University Wind Ensemble (featured soloist) Sinclair Community Wind Ensemble, Queen City Big Band, Main Street Big Band and the Dominion Brass as well as played principal trumpet for over 20 broadway musicals. Since settling in the Portland area in 2015, Dan has performed with The Maine State Music Theatre, The Maine Music Society, Casco Bay Wind Symphony, 207 Wind Orchestra, The Downeast, Norumbega, and Harborside Brass quintets, and is the principal trumpet for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Additionally, Dan is the founder and director of the Portland Trumpet Ensemble, formed in 2016.

MSOM will be performing live at FLATBREAD COMPANY this Tuesday from 5-10pm! 

Come down to enjoy a repast; a portion of every pizza sold goes to The Midcoast School of Music scholarship fund including dine-in, take-out, and delivery service orders!!
