THE POEM

   Barbara Vance is an author and illustrator and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas. She normaly writes childrens poetry and stories.

   This particular poem called “Your Best” talks about giving it your all no matter what, it connects with you because you always fell like there was something you could do in a certain situation and you end up thinking about it all the time even after months or years of said event happening, so why not give it your all when ever you can?

OBJECT

   About my object... When we were first told to bring something we liked to class I was uncertain on what to bring, so one afternoon I was playing in my computer (as I often do) and I was wearing my Naruto headband. Suddenly I realized that that was it! What better thing to define me than a prop from an anime I love, and at the same time something my girlfriend gave me?

CROSS-CULTURE

Kakadu National Park

   The Kakadu National Park is the largest national park in Australia. With an area of  19 804 km² it’s home to about 74 mammal species ,such as wallabies and kangaroos, more than 280 species of birds, and some 117 species of reptiles. In this park apart from the animals you can also find aboriginal rock art. These include hand stencils, dynamic figures and boomerangs. Unfortunately the park corrently faces a set of difficult challenges like fire hazards and environmental changes thanks to human impact.

The Outback

Oh the Out Back, the HUGE Australian inland full of nothing and empty of everything...Or is it? Depending on who you ask the Out Back can be a lot of different things: to some it’s a place where human life could never thrive, and to its 60000 residents it’s a place of comfort where nature reigns supreme and one can trully be free while still respecting the wild.

Australia 

So far we can conclude that Australia is a pretty big place full of wild life and a rich heritage, but there’s more to it so let’s round down a few facts about this country: 

Australia is part of the British commonwealth; 

Every year you can find in Melbourne the ‘Australian Open’ (a tenis tournament); 

It’s the only country to have lost a war against an animal (The Great Emu War);

 Its national desert is the lamington.

How can we go on living turning land to ash? How can we go on living when the earth we bash? The time is ticking and is going fast  Are you prepared when it all begns to crash?

BIOGRAPHY

Peter Garrett

   Starting of with Mr. Garrett he's  an australian singer and political activist. Although he planed to follow the life of a lawyer he quicly found himself turned upsidedown when in 1973 he began to sing in the band Midnight Oil. Together with the band he fought for what he thought was right and tryed to make the world a little bit better for everyone as an envirmentalist and as an advacate for the right of the Indigenous Australians.

Kylie Minogue

   In regards to Ms. Minogue she also had a very busy life. Starting of as a TV actress Kylie Minogue decided to expand her set of skills and got herself into the music industry where she succeded with her cover of "The Loco-motion". It wasn't long before she grew a large fanbase and started to produce her own albuns, she continued to act however making several movie apperences, witch are for the most part a consequence of her enormous fame in countrys like the UK and Australia.

INXS

   Finally we have INXS also known as the misfit band from the australian  pub scene. The band was founded by 3 brothers and there friends, although they had a rocky start with band members being in diferent bands from time to time they eventualy organised and adoped the name we know today as INXS. With titles like  "Need You Tonight," "Devil Inside," "New Sensation," and "Never Tear Us Apart" INXS cimented them selfs onto the US scene even reaching  multi-platinum status for their album kick.

THIS IS WHAT AVERAGE IS:

When you think about the idea of averageness what goes throw your mind? Maybe you think of it as something that's beneath you or you identify with this idea and feel comfortable not being below average or above it although that one does seem appealing. 

But have you ever considered it possible that the notion you have about averageness isn't a notion at all? Well you yourself and everyone you know aren't actually average if you really try to define it by the dictionary witch means you are unique and so being average means being unique.
