If there was anything Brinlee would never be able to deny, it was that Mal was easily one of her favourite people. She considered the girl to basically be a sister by this point and because of that, Brin knew she should put more effort into getting to know Theo. She’d only met him a handful of times and had only made brief small talk on those few occasions. But from those few times she knew he seemed kind. And friendly enough that she had felt comfortable to reach out and ask him if he was free to go for coffee. Coffee seemed like a good, safe option where they would actually be able to talk and she’d get to know him better. 

That was how she found herself leaning against the wall with the hotel elevator’s in view. Early as usual, she scrolled through her phone glancing up occasionally before she was tucking her phone into her back pocket once she noticed him stepping into the lobby. “Hey Theo,” she said with a soft smile as she stepped forward to meet him. “So do you want to just walk to a coffeeshop nearby or drive somewhere?” She asked, not sure if he’d have a favourite place to go. 

Being    Mal’s    fiance    came    with    a    lot    of    perks.    Not    only    was    he    going    to    be    marrying    the    love    of    his    life.    He    got    to    befriend    a    lot    of    her    people.    The    ones    that    she    kept    close    like    family.    The    ones    he’d    gain    as    family.    So    when    Brinlee    reached    out,    he    took    up    the    offer    so    that    he    could    get    to    know    her    a    little    better.    Of    course--    they    hung    out    a    few    times    and    so    he    learned    the    basics    like    what    she    did    for    a    living,    her    name    and    all    that    fun    jazz.    

Theo    had    made    sure    Pongo    was    good    for    a    few    hours    before    he    made    his    way    down    to    the    lobby    where    he    was    going    to    meet    with    Brinlee.    Stepping    off    the    elevator,    Theo    made    his    way    over    towards    her    with    a    small    smile.    His    hands    tucked    into    his    pockets    until    he’s    in    front    of    her.    “Hey    Brinlee.”    He    leans    in    and    greets    her    with    a    soft    kiss    to    her    cheek    (    typical    British    greeting    ).    “We    can    go    wherever    you’d    like...    I    have    no    preference.”

“Well, I’m extremelly happy for the both of you. Don’t sell yourself short.” Dilan said with a smirk. Despite having done everything possible to stay away from the potential of marrying or starting a life with someone, the urges were there. Loneliness had settled beneath her breast bone and she wanted more than anything to simply be loved. Not that she thought it was possible for herself. “Oh, that’s sad.” Dil said with a wrinkle of her nose. It wasn’t so sad that she felt bad for his sister but it wasn’t the best for Theo. “No, no. I’m free.” A hand shoots out to pet the dog behind the ear as she steps back. “Lead the way. I’ll follow you. I’m still trying to figure out where everything is.”

Theo    smiles    and    sets    Pongo    down    on    the    ground    as    he    bolts    forward    trying    to    lead    the    way.    “I    think    he    knows    the    exact    way    there,    since    I’ve    taken    him    probably    every    single    day    since    I    got    him.”    A    smile    tugs    from    the    corners    of    his    lips.    “It’s    definitely    going    to    take    a    bit    to    familiarize    yourself    with    this    place..    I’m    still    trying    to    figure    that    out    and    I’ve    been    here    for    about    a    year.”

mal: whatever i want?!

mal: in that case i want pizza, a million dollars, unlimited art supplies, about ten more tattoos, and aaaallll the concert tickets thank you. :)

mal: oh, and cuddles. so, so many cuddles.

Theo: I could give you three out of six of those things!

Theo: And I'm not going to tell you which three. 😉

Theo: Come over whenever, I'm off for the day and I'm off tomorrow so we can sleep in and cuddle!
