Reminder that in the X-Men Last Stand novelisation, Bobby saved Pyro from Jean's rampage and in the Rogue Cut we see that Pyro's lighter is in a shrine that Warpath maintains.
TL:DR Pyro was a member of the Free Mutants because Bobby saved him and was killed by the Sentinels
