Thots NOW (if and when you have time ofc)
out of context this sounds like you're just politely demanding more sex fjadskl.
so, ciwyw is a cute song because it was her saying that anyone on the outside could call her and joe what they wanted - fake, too soon, crazy, doomed, nonsensical, a bad idea, whatever - because she knew it was real, it was love. (side note: i love that the essence of the song is that people can call their relationship whatever they want, but what it actually is, she never explicitly names. just a fun little artistic device!)
ciwyw also always reminded me of that line in don't blame me: "my name is whatever you decide, i'm just gonna call you mine." i always took this as her basically saying i'm so in love with you, i don't care if/when you call me your wife, even your girlfriend, but you're my one and only. (it's only recently i learned people think that line was about marriage oop.)
and this love is telling a story of a person who isn't a permanent fixture in her life, they come and go just like the tide; however, this person left such a deep mark on her, she welcomes them back, even when they've both tried to move on. the implication is that it's special and rare. this love is good, it's bad, so call it what you want, but it's real.
tldr i kinda thought ciwyw was subtly hinting at the games they were playing at the beginning, the back and forth, the uncertainty, etc.

idk if you heard but rumors going on that TTPD is going to be sexy/sultry
personally, I'm just screaming vindication. I've been thinking it's going to be sexy since the first photo was released.
ngl i think it'd be useful to define sexy in these conversations! because i think it will be sensual and sex will be a part of the album, and certainly we'll get some songs that sound hot, because taylor do be loving a song about sex. but i also think they'll all have this edge of sadness or pain. all of taylor's sexy songs express extreme vulnerability and desire to be understood and loved (dress, so it goes, even the sex in august and illicit affairs.) like i'm imagining false god if they no longer believe, the paradise in idsb when it's been lost, the long haul in coney island, the sinister sexual undertone of wcs, the shame in atw10, waking in bed with the phantom of love above you, being stained by someone who saw you at your worst and later watched you wither away and die. we'll be dropping our asses at the club while wondering why we use sex to avoid intimacy 💀

y’all never shut up about folklore comparing love to films and then turn around and say “how can a person smile like the radio” as if debut doesn’t have a running motif comparing love to a song like. when you think tim mcgraw i hope you think of me he’s the song in the car i keep singing don’t know why i do it’s strange to think the songs we used to sing the smiles the flowers everything is gone our song is the slamming screen door sneaking out late tapping on your window what’s not clicking

Hi! How are you doing? I’m the anon that asked you about your favourite books, castles and cats 🙋‍♀️💜
I’m thinking of getting a cat myself and I was wondering if you have any tips or tricks to keep in mind when being a first time cat owner? (or at least my first own cat in my adult life- had some cats growing up but this is different)
Btw I’m also curious which and how many languages you speak? 😊
Awwww anon that's amazing, I'm so happy for you! I'm just gonna give you some advice, but I'm not a veterinarian, so don't use me as your main source of information!
Despite what some people say all cats are different. Some require more attention, some are low-maintenance, some prefer being left alone for hours, some will follow you in every room, some love being pet and held in your arms, others prefer much less contact, some are brighter and some are a bit more stupid, etc... So, I'd say to learn what kind of cat your cat is and start from there.
Some stuff you need: 1. Food 2. Bowls for food and water (it's better if they're large bowls so the cat's whiskers don't touch them when they eat/drink, because that might be uncomfortable) 3. A litter box (ask your veterinary about which litter to get) 4. A brush! You should brush them often 5. Some clean wipes (the ones made especially for cats/dogs) to clean them if they get dirty somewhere they can't clean themselves 5. If needed, a leash 6. If needed, some toys
There's an endless debate about keeping your cat inside or letting them outside, but I think that a bit of common sense is all that's needed to solve the debate. First of all, if you can, try to train your cat to use a leash: it will probably be difficult, but if you manage it you just solved your problem (you can let your cat enjoy the outdoors while keeping them and other animals safe). If you can't do that (and that's the case for me!), then it really depends on where you live. Do you live on a very busy street? Then your cat is probably gonna be an indoor cat, and there's nothing wrong with that! Do you live in the country or somewhere your cat can wander around without too much danger? Then you might let your cat explore! BUT if your cat starts bringing back small wildlife animals every time you let them out (like small birds or mice), then maybe it's better you keep them inside until they change their habit: pointlessly killing the wildlife in your area is not a very good idea. (That's my opinion on the matter but it's a controversial topic!).
Absolutely spay/neuter your cat!
Always keep the litter box clean (I usually clean it twice a day), and don't keep the litter box near the place where you put food and water.
Listen to what your cat "tells" you. If they're not in the mood to be touched or picked up, for example, they will usually meow, push your hand away with their paw, or move somewhere else. Try to listen to your cat's needs as much as possible and to respect their "boundaries", so you can build a wonderful relationship with them.
Some cats are more high energy than others, but pretty much all of them will want to play a bit during the day, especially when they're young, so try to take some time every day to play with them. You don't need any fancy toys to do it: a string or a ball made from tinfoil will usually be enough to keep most cats entertained for hours. If you choose to buy some "actual" toys, buy a couple of them and see which ones your cat actually prefers before spending too much money on toys the cat won't be interested in. If you're adopting an older cat, they might not have a lot of energy to play, but they will still probably enjoy being entertained in some ways! It's just a matter of discovering what your cat likes.
About which brand of food and of litter to buy: again, it depends. Ask your veterinary what's the best brand to get in your country for your cat. Most brands have different types of food depending on the age of your cat (kitten, adult, senior), so be mindful of that too and follow the indications. You should feed your cat twice a day, ideally, but ask your veterinary about portions and frequence! I feed my cats both wet and dry food. Wet food may be particularly important because a lot of cats don't drink enough water.
You don't need to wash your cat in water, they do all the work themselves (there are exceptions for some cat breeds, ask your veterinary).
Most cats sleep for 10-15 hours a day AND they also spend a lot of time cleaning themselves. That's absolutely normal!
If you're getting a specific breed of cat, learn everything you can about how to take care of that breed. If you're adopting from a shelter, ask the volunteers there everything you want to know. The same goes for your veterinary: it's better to be safe than sorry!
Cats are resilient and they're usually pretty good at taking care of themselves, so don't stress it too much!
And enjoy your new friend, I'm so jealous of you!
I speak Italian (duh), English (duh) and Spanish (I spent one year in Central America, I got a C1 certification years ago but I think that my level right now is more B2), and I'd also studied French and got to a B1 level BUT then I completely left it behind and now I don't remember almost anything. My plan is to eventually pick up French again and get to a B1-B2 level, and I'd also love to learn how to speak Norwegian before I die because I think it's the most beautiful-sounding language in the world (yep!).

do you think there is a Getaway Car like song on TTPD?
Do you mean theme or sound-wise?
If you mean the former, then I don't think so, because I don't think what happened in May/June is the same as what happened in 2016.
BUT my perhaps unpopular opinion is that I kinda believe that MH actually was one of the reasons Taylor started to think about maybe possibly perhaps breaking up with Joe. I don't think she left Joe to be with him, or even that she left Joe with the intention of eventually getting together with him, BUT I do think that some things were said or maybe implied, which led Taylor to understand that she didn't have to keep staying in a relationship with someone who perhaps didn't want her anymore and didn't wanna fight for her.
Like, I don't think it's a coincidence that About you was in the pre-show playlist. I think Taylor knew that MH would be at her doorsteps in seconds if she asked him to, and I think knowing that made her realize that there were men/people out there who wanted her and that it wasn't all over.
Does that make sense? I think she was aware of MH's position/feelings/intentions before the breakup happened, but I don't think she used MH (not even in her mind) as a reason to leave Joe.

I just read a very ignorant opinion about Joe’s depression on a very big blog that had dozens and dozens of notes and my first instinct wasn’t to start spiraling mentally, but it was to think “this is so wrong, let’s hope this person and all the ones who liked and reblogged this eventually change their minds and let’s hope their dangerous opinions don’t hurt anyone who’s suffering from depression in the meantime”. That’s called growth.

I've had experience people breaking up with someone they thought was their forever and it literally took three projects to unpack it all. Taylor is not like that artist but its totally plausible she needs a while to figure out and work through all the emotions of that situation.
Yeah!
Just take what happened with Scooter/Kanye: she very vaguely sang about it on reputation, then she mostly ignored the subject on Lover (we have IFTYE but Taylor really described the song well when she called it a “palate cleanser”, imo - it’s not about her being over the matter, it’s about her setting that part of her life aside in order to sing about other stuff), and then in folklore and evermore she’s able to really capture her feelings in lyrics for the first time, in a very lyrical but still “basic” way conceptually, and then by Midnights she’s able to “play around” with the subjects with songs such as Karma and VS, because she’s become comfortable with singing about that stuff.
But it took her six years, literally.
And there are other examples of this in her discography, or her refining certain themes and becoming better at writing about them.
This is why I think that some concepts/themes/ideas surrounding the breakup might still be a little rough around the edges on TTPD, and it might take her a few more takes not only to process what happened, but also to find the right words to sing about it.

Actually Would've Could've Should've and Ivy do do well together because that was part of both-all situations. Taylor's smart. Not the way I see those songs in my own life but still.
i think they worked so well together. like you can read ivy as the precursor to wcs— the religious imagery, the hopeful secrecy of ivy leading to the loss of privacy in wcs, and now i’m covered in you leading to years of tearing down our banners. ivy accepts a corrosive force, wcs deals with its consequences.
but i think you can also see ivy as the escape from wouldve couldve shouldve. wcs details this loss of faith, and the protagonists of ivy meet in a faith forgotten land. in wcs, taylor is surrounded by man made structures, stained glass windows and tombs, leading to ivy covering a house of stone.

Yes and they’re the worst most embarrassing lyrics I’ve ever read (if we’re talking about the same ones) hahah. - What are we going to do if these are real? 😂 I will have to question my entire existence because this is literally my grade school diary.
Hahaha we don’t have to worry about them being real BUT I think there could be a chance some lyrics turn out not to be the best? Let’s see if I can explain myself…
Do you remember when Taylor said that she’d wanted to write a song like “The Man” for years, and she was just never able to? And then when she finally could express those feelings, the song turned out to be nice but quite on the nose and simplistic?
And then a year and a half later she wrote mad woman that’s a much more nuanced take on feminism?
She’s spent a few years writing about the past (Midnights) and expressing her feelings through fictional tales (folklore, evermore), and before that she’d been writing exclusively love songs for a few years.
It’s possible that, if this is an overtly autobiographical breakup album, some feelings might be expressed in a bit of a trite way. Just because it’s been so long since she’s done this.
But, on the other hand, she’s been working on this for two years, so she’s had plenty of time to polish her work.
Plus Travis Kelce said that Taylor turns life into poetry after listening to this record… surely he didn’t say that about “so many hills you chose to die on, so many floors I’ve had to cry on” haha.

Didn't you just love the therapy lyric? 🥲 also the my love is the ocean and you are the whale 🐳 😭
Okay, so… the therapy line was nice (and relatable!!!), I liked the whale line, and there were a couple of other lines that weren’t bad.
But I think we can all agree that most lyrics are just not at Taylor’s level.
(“No happily, no ever, just after” is also something cringy she could write haha).

For centuries it’s been women who’ve had to reclaim their own lives against their male partners who wrote about them. It’s been women who suffered behind the scenes while their partners wrote about them/their love lives extensively in their books and completely erased them as people. This has been a common occurrence for, again, centuries. And this still persists today: a few years ago Hélène Devynck, Carrère’s ex-wife, accused him of writing about her in his book “Yoga” against her will and of writing false stuff, for example.
Art is art. Taking inspiration from your life is normal. Turning your life into art is normal. Writing about your own life to process it is normal.
But in doing so you’re also writing about other people’s lives, and that can’t be ignored.
And when swifties say that the muses in Taylor’s music should just shut up and accept whatever’s being written about them, I wonder if they realize how harmful their lack of nuance is, especially since Taylor purposefully makes it more than obvious who her songs are about in a lot of instances.
(My first boyfriend wrote a sexual lyric about me in a song he released after we broke up, and all the people in my life heard it and they knew it was about me, and it was horrible, and I think that if some people went through that they’d treat this whole “muse” discourse in a much more empathetic way).

Okay, I need you to write down every single thought you’ve ever had while watching any piece of media, because some of these are brilliant!
I read the CwF book. I didn’t finish the series. But I absolutely loved the book. (I think it helps that I’ll always associate it to reading it on the beach while spending a week in Portugal with my friend in the summer) Your posts brought back those lovely memories 🌞
You guys are so sweet to me and it makes me blush 🙈.
But, believe me, it’s better I don’t comment on every piece of media I watch/read. Last year for example I read a collection of Rimbaud’s poems and when I tell you I didn’t understand a single thing that man wrote… I’m usually very dense and stupid, I just think that since this is my fourth time watching the show I’ve picked up on some common themes/metaphors/whatever, but that’s the exception, not the rule haha.
I’m so glad I brought back good memories for you!

I haven’t seen any leaks bc I don’t have tiktok but what you wrote has me cracking up. I wanna say they’re 100% fake too however I also thought “you can’t spell awesome without me” was a fake leak and I learned very quickly that it was not HAHA so now I’m always like… is it fake though? Are we SURE Taylor wouldn’t have a moment of weakness and write this??? 😂
Taylor has A LOT of lyrics that I find subpar. Like, a lot. She has lyrics that just don’t go with the songs they’re in, cringe lyrics, redundant lyrics, not so great metaphors… like, she has a lot of moments of weak lyricism. And that’s fine! That’s normal!
But the thing about Taylor is that she’s extremely talented and she’s very intelligent. And, therefore, her lyrics have character.
They might be bad, but they’re never bland.
Does that make sense?
While the lyrics that this account is sharing are the blandest lyrics I’ve ever seen. For example:
“I swallowed my pride and all of this guilt / knowing I tore down the house that we built” (it’s like she’s smacking you in the head with the Lover house metaphor)
“So many hills you chose to die on / so many floors I’ve had to cry on” (I’m not kidding, we’re somehow supposed to believe that 14 time Grammy winner Taylor Swift got in a recording studio and sang these lines with a straight face)
“I cry when I bleed, if that makes me human, I guess I’m just superhuman” (I don’t even know what to say about this)
“I filled your cup so you could pour it out, I lifted you up so you could let me down” (that’s four common phrases in a row, a new record)
You see what I mean? Taylor might have written bad lyrics, but when has she ever written such common ones?
