• Today is the birth anniversary of Meghnad Saha, who was an Indian astrophysicist and known for the Saha ionization equation. • His equation is used for describing the chemical and physical conditions in stars, it is one of the greatest discoveries of his time. • He was also accorded the rare honour of being elected an FRS (Fellow of the Royal Society) at the young age of 34. ⭐Career • He invented an instrument to measure the weight and pressure of solar rays and helped to build several scientific institutions, such as the Physics Department in Allahabad University and the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Calcutta. • He founded the journal ‘Science and Culture’ and was the editor until his death.
