One of my favorite things about Hak is how he gaslights himself so hard when it comes to yonas feelings for him that he just cannot comprehend the reality of them. Like I’m pretty sure it could be April fools day, and they could be married and laying in bed next to each other, and Yona could say “yeah, you imagined all that, we’re not actually a thing.” And he would be like “Yeah that makes sense.” And then Yona would have a harder time convincing him that it was a joke than she did the actual joke. It’s really funny but also really sad at the same time…

What if reason Hak asked Yona to marry him last chapter is because....

Su-Won told him to do it.....?

I mean I still wonder to this day what was even actually said here. It could be "sorry", it could be "goodbye"—but what if that was all it was, why was it hidden?

Instead, what if it was actually—"and marry her" ?

Indeed, what if this Su-Won telling Hak to marry Yona and essentially become the king?

Like look at Hak's face. What if this is actually him realizing the realization that his vow to serve Su-Won has actually just backfired.

"marry her? excuse me? all this time i told you to marry the princess and become the king, and you're not only throwing that shit in the trash, but right back at me?"

"Coming back—am I supposed to marry the princess and be the next king? is he serious?"

Like... that would actually be a total bomb on dropped Hak actually. Because then Su-Won is basically reinforcing that he has always seen Hak as his equal, and he even lets Hak know that he has always been aware that Hak was in love with Yona.

It might make Hak like, "damn, he knew?" but also pissed because "oh shit, so my loyalty meant nothing to you because you thought i'd always choose the princess over you?"

Seriously, was hiding the words just a stylistic choice or something that will come back to haunt them? I think that the fact Hak is still thinking about what he said afterwards means it's not just a stylistic choice.

Ok, maybe this is yet another false alarm.

It's another mystery added to Yona of the Dawn. I just find it so odd considering this:

I mean, Yona is related to him, has the social standing. And he didn't want King Hiryuu on the throne. So who other than Hak are they discussing that Su-Won is "fine" with?

i am IN LOVE with this new artwork! kusanagi is so unbelievably talented. the colors, the setting, the whole group together again. just absolutely stunning. you could feel how much she loves her characters through her art. they look so beautiful. i miss when they use to spend time as a family. hakyona looks so happy, the dragons all together again, and yoon smiling so brightly! i’m so moved!
